if you have the old usb-a chargers, theyll still work with these iphones. so usb-c isnt really necessary but i think just to include something in the box. Also they provided these to work with fast-chargers etc if you dont want ur old chargers.

I seriously don’t see the hype behind wireless charging. The wireless charger still needs to be plugged in and you can’t use the phone comfortably because the charger is stuck to the back.
Still way easier to “plug” it into the phone. I really appreciate just having to “drop” my phone in it at night when it’s dark rather then trynna stick the lighting thing in. Besides that, MagSafe makes sure that it does charge when it’s on. I’ve tried multiple times where I thought I’d put it on the wireless charger when it was just an inch away from where it actually charge. Really nice upgrade!

It's just a convenience thing. Not ideal in every situation. If you want to still hold it in your hand while you use it, you plug it in. If you just want to plop it on the dresser overnight and have it charge, that's when you might use the wireless charging. Especially since it wouldn't matter that it's a slow charge method in that situation. I wouldn't understand hype about it either, but I do see some appeal to it, from a convenience standpoint. Definitely not a deal breaker IMO.

They know you dont have one, and want to milk more of your money for you to buy it separately. Next years phone will be just a phone in a box. No instruction booklet (get it online), no earpods or charger, and they'll also assume we all have the USB C charging brick as well. So if we want any of the additional cables and power bricks, we'll need to pay more for it. Hats off to Apple on figuring out how to rip off customers more and make excuses for it.

Details have come out on it. Almost identical to iPhone 11 and in thinner package with 5G which is pretty decent. Seems like some pretty good efficiency gains from the new A14 chip to get the battery performance to stay about the same.

Zach really complemented the iPhone 11 Pro’s rear frosted glass last year. He wasn’t able to scratch it with any of his everyday objects. So who knows, maybe the ceramic glass is a marked improvement.

Big fan of your videos. I have a small question about purchasing an iPhone. I currently have an iPhone X, and I am considering wanting to upgrade for multiple reasons. Including I have always wanted an iPhone with night mode and I am a bit obsessed with the new blue color. However, my current version plan does not include 5G in the plan (which I honestly don't care that much about), and I am not sure if I want to add it because it's 2020 and it is too new. Therefore, I was wondering if you know if I could purchase the phone in full from apple and just put in my Verizon sim card from my current iPhone without having to pay for 5G? Which would probably improve the battery life without the process of the phone going back and forth between 4G and 5G. If you don't currently know, please try and let me know once you receive the phones. Or do you think I should not bother upgrading at all and just keep my iPhone X for one more year?
I'm feeling that regular iPhone 12 in blue. I love that they returned to the rectangular sides. I remember when those were around back in high school during the iPhone 4s and 5 days. It always looked better (and more rigid) with the square vs rounded edges.

The MagSafe thing is really cool for, as you mentioned, accessories. For years I've been wanting a phone mount for the car that magnetically attaches (this is already common, but requires a metal plate to be fastened to the phone) and simultaneously charges the phone wirelessly, with a cable going from the mount to the power source. Now it seems like something like that will be incredibly easy. As an Android user I'm disappointed that Apple thought of it first! But like all tech on both sides of the fence, what comes to one will eventually come to the other. Just glad to see the tech moving in that direction.

...actually, they INCREASED the price by (at least) $100 for the base iPhone 12. If you want an unlocked, T-Mobile or Sprint version, you'll need to shell out another $20 on top of that extra $100.

Me too. I like iPhones as I have had good experience with them but seriously this years lineup looks underwhelming to me that I can say I am disappointed. I may have the wrong view though.

Definitely looking at the Max; I use my devices a lot, and so the longest battery life is always nice. However, in addition to the 2.5x zoom, and the image stabilization on the image sensor, the 12 Pro Max also has a 47% larger image sensor on the wide lens, which is the one that people will use most of the time. I believe Apple said that would result in an (estimated) 87% improvement in low light. I use the camera a lot, and those improvements on the Pro Max make it the best choice for me.
