Even before Tatis's PED, when Tatis was close to coming back, Bob Melvin even said he will be keeping Kim at shortstop and had planned to start off Tatis with DH and Centerfield. Kim's improvement is pretty impressive. Its who I am watching out for as a Dodgers fan. Watching the wild card series, being able to pull off 3 walks in a do-or-die death match, is very impressive. He's pulling off more walks than Soto in the wild card.
@@EdDy4RheelZ Would love to see more tatis in the outfield. He has the speed and athleticism and when he wants to, the max effort.
Kim is so fun to watch. The guy works hard, plays solid defense and the team likes him. He's a good dude and I hope the Padres keep him for a long time.

Really easy guy to root for and a hell of a player. Glad he is ours.
Always humble and putting the team first. Anyway, during his early season interview this year with you. (Great interview btw.) Kim mentioned that he lost weights during last year. It sounds like his mom is staying with him and able to keep him healthy with variety of home cooking. That may be the reason, how he can endure the longer MLB season vs shorter KBO season at such demanding postion with out a major injury. Kim mentioned that he can cook very simple dishes, since I was very interested in his answer also. My perspective on Manny changed, because of Ha-Seong Kim. Translating on-the-spot is not an easy task, but the most of thoughts and perspectives are accurate. Ha-Seong can inpire others and SD need that for the deep run of play--offs.

Kim was looking at the interpreter like he was finna fire his ass after the interview. He looked at him like “Theres no way you said exactly what I just said” 😂😂😂
So glad Kim adjusted to the MLB and developed pitch recognition and contact. Last year and 2022 first half looked like he was constantly trying to slug the ball miles away, then got under or over it, hitting infield flies or easy doubleplay balls. Now his exit velo and angle have gotten tremendously better. If you look at when Kim is 🔥, his balls in play always have quality, and goes straight for the gaps between outfielders or infielders with power. Let me talk about the KBO for a second.
Lee jung hoo, star LF of the kiwoom heroes. Won batting title 2021, and this year he has shown quality defence, baserunning and power. Im a korean hanwha fan but i still love my korean major leaguers. Cant wait for Ryu to come back and dig us out of this cursed consecutive 10th place finishes (last) but im willing to wait if he can sing his final swan song with his FA after 2023. Struggling choi ji man is a struggle to see, and bae in the pirates is a promising young rookie. Shame the cardinals didnt extend Kim kwang hyun cuz SSG, his home team is demolishing the league right now in 1st place, but w/e, he played like a god in the 1st half of the season with a sub 2 ERA at the allstar break with little injuries. KT's young outfielder, who batted nearly .400 last year, who i cant remember the name of, is also a great rookie, but didnt get as much attention from mlb scouts like ahn woo jin, a smart starter with a plus slider and throws absolute heat, and is 1st in Ks, and IP with a sub 3 ERA. If KBO is an alternative AAA, then a lot of struggling teams can look forward to the Posting system, and a lot of Koreans can look forward to having more teams to root for.

Ha Seong seriously good player and has adapated and developed well into his role on Padres, but theres another guy in KBO right now that will a star in MLB, Jung Ho Lee. Look out for that name, If I had to compare a player it would be left handed mookie or cedric mullins type.
I saw little bit of KBO during 2020 COVID season when MLB wasn't available right after covid started. I liked watching Chang Mo Koo. Reminded me of younger version of Hyun Jin Ryu. I want him to come to MLB. Wonder how he would fare in the MLB. He's a crafty lefty pitcher.

The player-translator dynamic is so informal, it's very funny to watch. I've watched other Ha Seong interviews and translator usually fills in the answers. You can tell they were friends before. Ha Seong will say...balh blah blah something like that. Then the translator fills in. Not professional translation at all.

I think the Padres or Ha-Sung Kim need to hire a new translator for the shortstop. Translating means every word and expression be communicated precisely but the guy doing the job in this video is not doing it right. I’ve watched other videos of Kim being translated earlier in the season, and I had the same impression.

I, too, wish Kim Ha Seong would hire a better, much better interpreter. The guy interpreting for him now can't even speak one single coherent, complete, grammatically correct sentence. This guy always speaks like he's going to screw up big time someday and embarrass Kim Ha Seong and disappoint his fans.
