Agreed, but I remember reading back when Spider-Man came out for PS4 that Marvel gave them the option to choose any character from the marvel catalog and they chose Spider-Man. So I think technically they can make any game they want when it comes to marvel characters, but I couldn't be more happy they chose Wolverine!!!!! Hopefully they don't stop at these 3 characters...

This game needs either X-Men animated era version of Sabretooth or X-Men Ultimate version (because four Wolverine like claws are badass af), either way, he needs to be a massive bloodthirsty psychopath what he truly is, since comic writers don't know what to do with him in comic storylines.

Just re-watched all the Wolverine movies after seeing this. Logan was a great exit for him.. "so this is what it feels like" such a great end for a 197 old man tormented for all those years, facing all that loss.
The music captures the melancholy of Wolverine so well in this trailer. Can not wait for the game! Notice the license place at 0:20 on the right "HLK 181" this is the hulk comic volume 1 issue 181. Also cash register says 1974 - when that comic was released. Thanks Insomniac.

I’ve never been more excited for a video game! Wolverine is my all-time favorite comic book character! What gets me even more hype is the eyepatch on the table hinting at Logan’s Patch persona and a Madripoor setting. That just shows Marvel/Insomniac are going DEEP in the Wolverine history with this one!

Do we have any info on a suspected rating? I'm honestly okay with a T game that pushes the edge, I don't think we need dismemberment and lots of gore to enjoy a Wolverine beat-em up, especially when we got a good story driven game from Spidey PS4 that was equal parts fun and engaging
... I REAAALLY hope Insomniac will be like Naughty Dog who understand the vast difference in tone between two of their on going franchises (Uncharted; The Last of Us) where they can teeter between the “fun” & “grim af” tones like a light switch. It’s honestly impressive how Neil Druckman could switch into the appropriate tones during the times of Directing & writing The Last of Us (released 2013) and Uncharted 4 (2016)

@@mritunjaymusale but that game was pretty fun, Wolverine Origins. I replayed it a month ago and yeah, it was fun. The story sucked because the movie it was based on sucked, and some of the missions were pure pain because of the controls.

The only story elements that sucked were the ones taken straight out of the movie, like Wolverine’s love interest and deadpool. Otherwise it worked pretty decently and the fact they were able to put the sentinel here was amazing.

Insomniac seems to be doing what the mcu did right, building a universe one project at a time. The mcu wouldn’t have become so successful if they just focused on getting to the avengers. All the individual adventures are integral to creating a solid foundation.
And this is why DC failed with Justice League so tremendously. They just sprinted for the big team up all in one movie without even having the other characters introduced or seen yet. Snyder's Cut improved it a bit but they failed at trying to do what Marvel did

I'm extremely interested to see how they handle this. Insomniac's games usually have a focus on an array of gadgets (R&C, Spider-Man) and Wolvy has, well, claws lol excited to see what elements are instead focused on. Though I'm sure we'll still get some sort of skill tree.
Exactly on the skill tree. They will likely have skills and physical enhancements instead of gadgets.
I suspect there's gonna be a berserker rage boost you can temporarily turn on, maybe one of the "trees" will effect that by lengthening it or adding extra damage during it or such.
My guesses would be bone claws, rage, healing, hunting, stealth, and a bunch of environmental combat skills considering the teaser is the beginning of a bar brawl. Would be cool to ride a motorcycle too
Im sure sneaking and using wolverine super sense of smell to track your target could be a feature

Not gonna lie, was not expecting this, but the moment I saw the cowboy hat "that's gotta be Logan". I hope it's set in the 70s and a story prior to him joining the X-Men.
It seems that Insomniac atm is only doing Solo series so No avengers or Xmen or F4 and looks like their keeping street level and not cosmic

Tamil is featured on the menu board because it's one of the official languages of Madripoor. This scene is set in Madripoor which is a city-state located in Southeast Asia and is based on Singapore (where Tamil is one of the official languages). That's why there are Tamil and Chinese (red lanterns) influences in this scene because it's inspired by Singaporean culture.

I love that little detail they put in his forearms, when he reveals his blades his forearms lose that slightest bit of size, indicating that the blades are stored in the forearms, like in the comics.
They did Spider-Man very well. That gives me hope for this game and perhaps other solo Marvel hero games. Daredevil would be awesome.

Of course! As much as we want Logan to be the center of this game, it’s almost criminal not to include some if not all the main X-men.
My prediction is it’ll mostly comprised of the weapon X members like Sabretooth, Omega Red and Lady Deathstrike. Some X-Men might show up but weapon X is definitely the one to look forward to for obvious reasons

Wolverine is a great character. He's one of my favorite Marvel characters, one of my favorite comic book characters. The guy is simply a beast. You don't mess with Logan. While I'm not a gamer anymore, this looks like it will be fun to play.

If anyone doesn't know in the comics the princess bar is not only Logans hangout in madripoor, but is also connected to a crime lord named tyger tiger that wolverine rallys himself with to take down future reavers( who are connected to the hellfire club, they're cyborgs from the future) we could be seeing alot of closeted wolverine stories coming to life in this game.

Well if you look at the claws you can clearly see me being stabbed in the heart because I can only play this on PlayStation when I would much rather play on Xbox. And nobody can say sony owns wolverine this time because they have no rights to him at all they just found a loophole that if they put a lot of money to insomniac they can get them to make exclusive games.
I hope this opens up the gates for more X-MEN games down the road, would be great with the success of this game insomniac brings X-MEN back to life

I could easily see an Insomniac Daredevil game where half the game takes place in the day and you have to play as Matt Murdock and the other half takes place at night with Daredevil and you can traverse the world like Daredevil 2003, I know, poor example 🤣

I'm guessing prequel. This probably takes place several decades before the events of Spider-Man. But thanks to his healing factor, Wolverine can definitely still show up in a future game. Spidey and Wolverine buddy cop dynamic!
