The most beautiful mind is the mind that has the commandments of God and shares them with his brother that he may live and not die. The so-called Blacks, Hispanics, and Native Indians are the people the bible speaks of; Deuteronomy 28:15 - 68.

It's so healthy to show up and stay in dialogue. For this reason, I love her thoughts and inflections. She's provocative, makes me reflect and want to speak up. For eg, 'learn how to live instead of fight with cancer' made me think that fighting in any situation is a recipe for losing. Fighting sucks life energy where intelligent dialogue is efficient. And, yes, I can imagine the great interactions she had. Humble, yet a magnet for intelligent thought and vibrant interactions. Even if I don't agree with everything, I LOVE listening to her.

Everything must change, nothing stays the same. She seems much different today ....and that’s not a bad thing... not sure if age makes one appear more vulnerable/fragile ... I think everything we fight for when we are younger seems unwavering but as we age we see that change will come within.... I close my eyes to envision the youthful unyielding Nikki , she is not there...and should she be? She served her time and she made an impact when we needed it the most . Now it is time for others to carry her torch with the unwavering convictions she had as young woman but with a new baseline to fit a new generation . Nothing stays the same... hmmmm much love to you Nikki and thank you for giving us the best of you over the years.
    Everything must change
    Nothing stays the same
    Everyone must change
    No one stays the same
    The young become the old
    And mysteries do unfold
Cause that's the way of time
Nothing and no one goes unchanged
There are not many things in life
    You can be sure of
Except rain comes from the clouds
    Sun lights up the sky
    And hummingbirds do fly
    Winter turns to spring
    A wounded heart will heal
    But never much too soon
    Yes everything must change
    The young become the old
    And mysteries do unfold
Cause that's the way of time
Nothing and no one goes unchanged
There are not many things in life
    You can be sure of
Except rain comes from the clouds
    Sun lights up the sky
    And butterflies do fly
    Rain comes from the clouds
    Sun lights up the sky
    And music
    And music
    Makes me cry

During the video, Ms. Giovanni indicated that James Brown and Jesse Norman were from Albany, GA: however, as a native of Augusta, GA., I knew both Ms. Jesse Norman and her brother Silas Norman I attended elementary school, Steed Street and Ursula Collins Schools with both of them. (They are from Augusta). However, believe Ms. Norman may have transferred to another school before she went on to college and later became one of our famous, beloved opera singers. And I managed three of the rhythm section members to Mr. James Brown's band during the seventies.
I never met Ms. Giovanni personally, but enjoyed her in this presentation.
