Whoopi's argument about "lived experience"--please. She needs to stop acting like she's really Celie in THE COLOR PURPLE. Whoopi has been an A-list star for over 40 years. She appropriated a Jewish name in order to break into the comedy business. She's one of the most privileged people in America. To see her and Sunny ("well, I'm friends with Bernice"), the two black women on the panel, try to undermine and belittle a young black man instead of engaging his ideas says a lot about what's wrong in the culture.
Sonny isn't even black. In the black community she is not considered black.

I am 72. I was taught black history in Sout New Jersey schools and with only About 100 students only about 17 black had a black senior class president.
Hey!! Im from South jersey.. although my school had about 1000 high schoolers. It was a great school
My parents say that didn't teach a lot of black history.

I interviewed for the job of CIO for the Washington State Forestry Department. The hiring Director had graduated and I mentioned how Evergreen was “a little out there”. He had graduated from there and loved his experience. A few years later, the madness broke out with Brett. BTW, I got the job but didn’t take it.

Thank you , Kmele, for your comments (and passion) on transcending race. I learned in 1st grade that God sees our hearts and minds, not our skin. Later, a college sociology professor pointed out the fact that a black person's blood could be more similat to a white person's than to another black person's and vice versa. It's simple and elemental.

I am older than Whoopi and our history books included accomplishments of Blacks, snd Jews. We learned of a lot of contributions of both. We learned of slavery and the Holocaust. I don't know where she went to school.

Thanks Megyn, and friends. It's nice to hear the truth, even when it's sad. We try not to talk "politics" at Church, or with friends, but it's starting to happen because of daily national and local events. We are trying more openly to remind our friends about the Constitution, and what we as Americans believe in. Without these thoughts, we lose hope, and we can't; lose hope.
