My dad said that curse words words shouldn’t be used in songs unless you need to get the message through. When she says “Open your fucking eyes!” is a perfect example of this.
The next line is “living by a script” so what she means by that is she doesn’t like people telling her what to do, say, or how she has to act. In this movie, she’s the director so she gets to decide what she does, says, and how she acts.
yeah in beginning of the school crybaby was hesitant to use her powers when angelita told her that she can defeat kelly easily cuz they're capable of doing anything but crybaby though she'd have an unfair advantage I think represents that ppl irl who have power they abuse their power for their personal gain. but crybaby knew why she was blessed with powers so as the movie progressed she learned to use her powers in a productive way
No wait I see comments explaining the song but none of them are doing it justice. The song is about hypocrisy and reactionary culture, not just "don't cancel people" or "don't be sensitive." Mel herself is sensitive in a sense, it's not about that specifically, it's about 1. Not thinking before you do or say something that is harmful and 2. Not expecting the same behavior that you give out to come back to you In the video, the students are reacting and acting as they were taught to and as is considered normal, but because they consider it normal they aren't thinking before they act and react. So, while Crybaby is practically in distress, no one is helping her because they don't know how. Their reactions are also hypocritical because they are okay with her being in pain, but shocked when she puts someone else in pain. And then when they do "wake up" they are able to confront the source of their blind actions: the principal aka the person in charge of the system they were raised in. And the principal is scared as if he didn't actively harm a generation of kids. So the video uses themes of hypocrisy and and reactionary culture to highlight the trauma of generations raised in a culture that only wants them to be useful to the oppression of everyone. This isn't simply about cancel culture, and it certainly isn't trying to demonize people who are sensitive to others (because anger isn't a bad emotion and sensitive people can and are often victims themselves). I hate when people bring up Twitter drama and cancel culture as if those are things that exist in a vacuum when they are results of our culture and they are one of many ways we are expressing our own trauma from how we were all raised (specifically in the US). And the video also highlights how important empathy and community are to ending oppressive systems, as crybaby had to believe that the students could wake up to even try to help them see what she did. So be empathetic to everyone (unless they are literally bigots like the principal who actively want to system to stay in place for their own benefits).
Reverse.Card she doesn’t wanna be an actress (in their drama club) = she doesn’t want to be in their drama club = she doesn’t accept their rules I hope I explained it

This music video is basically about how society treats you and when you’re a music producer their is always going to be hate and drama, but what she means by “ I didn’t sign up for your drama club” means that she made music to make her happy and not to please others which means that she didn’t sign up for the drama but for her own happiness. When they are on stage it’s like a way of saying your being controlled, at the end of this music video basically it’s a way of saying to control of your own life. Sorry if this doesn’t make sense, this is my way of describing the meaning of the music video Edit: Everyone interoperates this video differently and this is my personal perspective
first she makes a song about joining the drama club then she makes a second song about what she did in drama and finally comes this song where she says "SHe never signed up for it" even though she did

There's a whole world out there, you're living a play
Fuck your auditorium, I think it's pretty boring and

THIS IS MY FAVORITE K-12 SONG ITS SO CATCHY
This music video is basically about how society treats you and when you’re a music producer their is always going to be hate and drama, but what she means by “ I didn’t sign up for your drama club” means that she made music to make her happy and not to please others which means that she didn’t sign up for the drama but for her own happiness. When they are on stage it’s like a way of saying your being controlled, at the end of this music video basically it’s a way of saying to control of your own life.
Sorry if this doesn’t make sense, this is my way of describing the meaning of the music video
Edit: Everyone interoperates this video differently and this is my personal perspective
WATCH THE FALL OF CABAL. SHES TRYING TO WAKE YOU UP. PLEASE WAKE UP
Good review

Periodddd
Unpopular opinion: This is one of her best songs.
Sonically it's definitely underrated, lyrically she could of make the chorus a little less repetitive
Miss Daphne this song was leaked like 2-3 years ago or something
joe trash It leaked September last year
@@dreamwclker That's how I feel about Lunch Box Friends. They both had the potential to be the best songs on the album.

This song inspired me to join drama. Now I’m a theatre kid. Thank u Melanie for making me a theatre kid
This song is so addicting
Mel: I don't wanna be an actress..
K-12: I'm a joke to you?!
LMAOOO
😂😂😂
🤔😏
Imagine she makes a song about her joining a drama club
first she makes a song about joining the drama club then she makes a second song about what she did in drama and finally comes this song where she says "SHe never signed up for it" even though she did
I just signed up for drama, up for drama club
This is so true tho it’s about popularity and the pressure of being judged so you fake who you are just to fit in and avoid being bullied
Mel: WAKE UP-
Mel's friend: this is getting excited-
Melanie: WAKEE UPPP

The world: There’s no way a song can’t say the word The.
Melanie: Hold my beer.

Isabella Black huh?
Wølf Bøss like not beer, but a sippy cup. Filled with OJ. Or eyeballs.
Did the world even say that?

The part when they say "fck your auditorium I think it's pretty boring" is just *chef's kiss*
