It must be one of the most touching and human songs Melanie has ever written. No swearing, just talking about true feelings and how awful bullying is. Seems like she's feeling not just for victims of bullying but also for bullies themselves because only deeply heartbroken person can sink low enough to start hurting others. She understands that her resentment won't put an end to violence so she's choosing to forgive her bullies and focus on taking care of herself and others, on spreading love.

As an autistic kid, who was raised by very weird, if not bad people, who constantly question authority, and always do what we want, this, this hit me.
I never fit in. No one liked the weird kid who caused problems. I didn't understand what I was doing wrong. But despite that, I always had a good heart, trying to see the best in the people around me, despite the constant bullying, always open to forgiving if they asked.
I have always been bullied, more so in middle school and before. But despite my forgiveness, I couldn't help but wonder what would happen if hurt them back. I could think of a dozen ways to, without getting caught. But I didn't, because despite it all, I didn't want to hurt others, wether they deserved it or not. .

I don't know what kind of autistic you are, but I have a high functioning autism. So I behave like other people and I understand things better. But I do have processing disorder so I can't process simple things like math. I'm so sorry you get bullied. I know a kid that I go to school with and his name is Nicholas and he also has autism. And with being in elementary school (going into middle school in August) kids who are 10 to 12, even maybe at 13 don't really understand people who are autistic. And I'm 13 and I got held back in second grade so I'm actually older than all the other kids. Unless if they got held back lol. But I always tried to stand up for him. But I seem to understand that people just don't understand people like that. I even told one kid that I am autistic and they didn't believe me and asked me " do you even know of what it means? " and I don't actually know of what it means I just know that I have traits like autism if not having actual autism. But I am proven to have a high functioning autism. I'm sorry that I wrote so much! Guess I just never really found a person who is somewhat like me in a way 😅
I'm also autistic and I was always thinking that there is something wrong with me or I was not doing anything right I would always beat myself over the smallest things over some things that happened in preschool those moments were a little traumatic I don't think my problem is as bad as others but it's nice to hear that someone else is like me out there.

This is one of the best ones. She helped me get through all my insecurities, including one about a gap in my teeth, which I love now because it makes me think of her, and helped me to ignore the bullies. Love that this will be my kids first concert in May. She got me thru some hard times in a divorce after a 30 year relationship and so happy her music helps my child have the same healthy balance as she starts puberty. Please keep the rawness and honesty coming in such a positive productive way!

I can relate to this song in a few ways. I’ve never acted like the “cool” kids at my school (funny thing is they pulled the fire alarm in PE class)-I always felt left out in break or classes if none of my friends were there. It always felt like they were trying to stay away from me as much as they could. I am pretty good at my classes though, so the only time they care about me is if they see an opportunity to copy me. They were always acting really fake and rude and chaotic, but I never really hated them.

The difference: i never had friends in school and all my school life, i always encountered the same classes with full of bullies, groups and hate. Sometimes i couldnt find even a single person with kind behaviour or out of fights. i never had a group or a friend in those places, sadly, none of them were kind, is it my bad luck? Maybe god wanted it this way, maybe another thing, i dont know.
They were just teens, i dont blame them, adults not doing a good job and being a model for their age. Probably they always see hateful ppl too, so they become.
