Oftentimes, quieter people have the upper ground because they observe and listen. “I’ll wreck you, if you chase me” means that if she feels targeted then she can defeat someone with her words.
On the other hand, louder people often yell while throwing out insults that they don’t even mean or think about.

I almost wish she kept this grungy , raw rock sound consistently in the record because it suits her so damn well. But it’s still an amazing journey of an album to be sure !

I feel this song because it’s about standing up for yourself and not letting anyone and anything destroy your self-esteem. With the chorus “Don’t battle with my larynx tonight” emphasises the importance of protecting one’s voice and not letting others dominate it. This song also criticises those who talk without thinking which is suggesting that they are superficial and they lack substance. From my thoughts, this song sounds like it’s written about 2 different conflict styles - one person who yells a bunch of nothing loudly and tries to intimidate, whilst the other is calm and concisely use their words and wit to prove their point. 🤍🕯️

Battle of the Larynx is about entitled people and verbal competition, a scream showdown of sorts. People who believe they wield malicious unconquerable power are featureless and dull.
She knows their words are uselessly round and will never affect her. Her words are calculated by comparison; and knowing their egocentric behavior, they are sure to be easily wounded.
I love this because it's so relatable. It's easy to hear entitled statements from a lot of people you know, and it's annoying oftentimes.

This reminds me of fighting with my abusive narc mother and finally getting the courage to stand up for myself. I love you so much Mel.
