- Support my work on Patreon: / melodysheep | Get the soundtrack: bit.ly/2HKl9fi | How's it all gonna end? This experience takes us on a journey to the end of time, trillions of years into the future, to discover what the fate of our planet and our universe may ultimately be.
We start in 2019 and travel exponentially through time, witnessing the future of Earth, the death of the sun, the end of all stars, proton decay, zombie galaxies, possible future civilizations, exploding black holes, the effects of dark energy, alternate universes, the final fate of the cosmos - to name a few.
This is a picture of the future as painted by modern science - a picture that will surely evolve over time as we dig for more clues to how our story will unfold. Much of the science is very recent - and new puzzle pieces are still waiting to be found.
To me, this overhead view of time gives a profound perspective - that we are living inside the hot flash of the Big Bang, the perfect moment to soak in the sights and sounds of a universe in its glory days, before it all fades away. Although the end will eventually come, we have a practical infinity of time to play with if we play our cards right. The future may look bleak, but we have enormous potential as a species.
Featuring the voices of David Attenborough, Craig Childs, Brian Cox, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Michelle Thaller, Lawrence Krauss, Michio Kaku, Mike Rowe, Phil Plait, Janna Levin, Stephen Hawking, Sean Carroll, Alex Filippenko, and Martin Rees.

Y’all got existential crisis from this? Weird, when he said we weren’t even .00000000000000 (etc) % of the universe’s time, kinda makes me appreciate my life more
I get to live, watch this video, see my family, see my friends, laugh, cry, love, learn, listen, see, hear, speak, I get to mean something to someone when most of the people who could exist will never exist, all in a universe that tells me I could’ve never existed, and who am I to take this for granted?
good way to think of it. but yea when u really think about it. the chances of being a sentient human being are so astronomically low in comparison the the numerous other combinations that could have happened to make a new person, but never happened at all. it is sad to think about and makes you wonder what happens next.

I used to think what I did in life was important and that I can leave this long lasting legacy and help the world become a better place! I know now I can only do that by following Jesus and telling the world about him. This world is so short and life will be over in a blink of an eye… but eternity and his kingdom is forever and the only way to it is through faith in Jesus! Whenever life gets overwhelming I watch this video. Everything is so insignificant, it makes it easier for me
"we could create simulated virtual universes, or with enough energy, create another one just like our own." is a line that fascinates me everytime i watch this because both of these are so crazy to think about. how would you create a virtual universe? how would you gather the energy to create a universe? where? when? how? i can't even come to even the slightest guess, and that's why i've always been fascinated by things like this. the feeling of reading a question so crazy you can't even answer is the best feeling out there.
ever since i was young, i've always loved the future more than the past. most of the past, like history and such, has already been proven. this happened, that happened... but the future, what i love so much about it, is how unpredictable it is. people love to ponder about questions that won't be answered in practically forever, they love to make theories and philosophies, and the best part is, we don't know if they'll come true.
Happy to be your ninth like, brother
@@yyyymmddhhmm Happy to be your first like, brother
I agree with you, and imagine what if in the past people would learn about the even more past but then they changed rules because they will be like „we learn kids in school bout the past but they dont even care so lets just change the rules“ like imagine that would be no history in school because if there wasnt people would be more intresed about the past just like how they are intrested about the future and they will just google it themselves. I honestly feel like that would be more helpful to know about the past but i still think past is past its just that you gotta know atleast something about it im in 8th grade and its boring learing bout the past in school, i cant concentrate nor understand anything.
Just think if humans would be able to get to a stage in our small time (0.0000000000000 how ever many 0's .1% of time the universe has been around) that we could create a virtual universe, then theres a 99.9% chance that we are already in a virtual universe. there is trillions of galaxies and thats just our estimate with septillions of planets and stars and moons, how ever many way more advanced life than us out there existing, has existed and will exist. No chance we would be the first ones to make this. So the theory we are living in a simulation doesn't seem that ridiculous now.

this video demonstrates all the more reason for humanity to set aside its petty differences, its petty competition, its petty winner-take-all mindset, its petty greed and hate and learn that LOVE is the answer. no one OWNS the planet or the life and resources on this planet. the universe and this planet is here for US ALL, they belong to us all. and only through cooperation and mutual benefit can we protect this planet (our only home), each other and ourselves so we can each, and everyone of us, appreciate and enjoy the lives our universe has allowed us the honor to experience. why have the elite continued to tell us differently and exploit the divisions and animosity they, themselves, create? and why hasn't humanity figured this out yet?

This has to be one of the most beautiful videos I've ever seen. I'm not depressed after watching this to the very end. If anything, I feel...at ease? I prefer the ending where humanity cannot escape our universe... That ending feels... Conclusive. The thought that our universe begins with glory, and slowly dissipates into nothingness... That brings me comfort. Nothing I do will change the fate of the end. I'm insignificant, and I find genuine peace in that. I don't want to be an important figure. I don't want to make an impact. I'm content in knowing that my existence is just a small spark in history.

KoeSeer oh damn
Its been 5 years.. and I always come back to take a look again to this earth and its future.. it amazes me
You want to see this stuff but on your screen. Seeing this kind of stuff in person brings a crippling feeling in the bones. I genuinely think i need to go see a therapist i am so terrified of space and what comes with it. I feel so fragile. I wish i could breath and live in space.
You don't have to fear the eternal darkness. (:
You'll live long before the time of blank arrives

One last time......
what a weird thing.
we are sad about an event that has not happened or will not happen in our lives. We can't even comprehend the time between us and it.
"We are part of this universe; we are in this universe, but perhaps more important than both of those facts, is that the universe is in us."

Having an existential crisis... No life matters...
But also thinking that human are just so greedy they could've made another man-made planet by 100,000 years later. Then expands to solar system, and eventually we might fill this universe into a man-made universe... Till then we can maybe find another universe...
Huh
THERE KRplus.
I WATCHED IT AGAIN.
NOW I HAVE ANXIETY AGAIN.
how can you have anxiety? didn't you saw the time passing on the bottom of the video?
Maybe he realized we're so insignificant
Why would you have anxiety?! Doesnt make sense ..

@@deezsans51 A lot of this video, we won't be a part of in our lifetime. That's the easy part. The hard part is accepting that we are just material and even matter breaks down in the end.
I have a problem with sleep where I experience myself doing nothing. It's the scariest thing to think about. But the thing is, when you don't exist *anymore*, it's like you never existed, *period*. How do I know? I don't. That's the point.
This is quite possibly the greatest video on KRplus.
Probably the best video on KRplus

Makes paying my student loan off seem less important.
Oh no. Don't think this is gonna get you out of that. Your interest will be compounded in the next universe. By trillions of years. So pay it now.
That's a good posture
Before the grand scheme of things and the marvelous universe we are in, how can such a little thing as a problem of ours be important?
I think it makes you feel a little less worried about your life.
When all the atoms have decayed all debt is paid 😂
Even when the last black hole decays and the universe becomes static, remember that the IRS is just as eternal, cold and uncaring.
If anything it might make it more important since it’s something that will exist during such a short period of time thanks to intelligent life. Life might be one of the rarest things to occur in our universe so maybe we are more important than we think.
Came to see something cool about space, left with depression. lol
