Look at the stats. Parole Tide had their worst game of the year BY FAR. Zeke ran all over their secondary. If you heard what the media and University of SEC folks were saying, Bama should have won by double digits. In reality, they should be happy that Derek Henry kept them in the game. And I admitted that Bama was the best team they played (which you would likely agree with). After that, it was obvious to me that they were gonna beat Oregon.

Oregon had probably their best team ever that year, however Ohio St peaked at the best time. There was no stopping that Ohio St team by anybody
People would mention Cardale Jones as if he was just a regular backup QB, when in actuality they just had 2 QB's that were of starter caliber. Him and Barret both were in the NFL for several years after. Otherwise they had all their starters playing. If you pause at 17:05, Oregon had 6 key starters out. Addison, Allen and Carrington were Oregon's best WR's all season long, their TE Brown, their most experienced O-lineman in Johnstone and their best corner in Olomu. OSU won fair and square and Elliot ran all over Oregon. Though I agree Oregon probalby had their best team ever that year, they were missing half their offensive starters and a key defensive starter.

Bottom line is...in the end, defense still wins the championships! Offense wins games, defense wins championships. Ohio State ended the season with the 29th ranked defense in total team efforts whereas Oregon's was 102nd! While Oregon had the #1 offense, Ohio State's offense was 3rd in total team offense. The bottom line is if you want to win it all you need a top 50 offense and defense both....If you think I'm lying, well....again....you can say they are just stats....but the evidence is there! Florida State won their national championship with the 4th ranked total team offense backed up by their defense which was ranked 7th in total team defense. My fellow football fans....these are not coincidences!!!!!

I've been an Ohio State fan for 46 years, and I've lived in Oregon for 20 years.
With his recruiting and coaching ability, Meyer will likely win another NC or two at Ohio State. The Ducks are fun to watch, but they will never beat any blue blooded team to win an NC with only a gimmick offense and small O and D lines. If they ever get a few big fast guys on the line, they'll get an NC.

Cardale Jones' performance was reminiscent to Vince Young's in the 05 RoseBowl. Cardale reminds me of faster, stronger, and bigger arm version of Vince Young.

I think he's faster than VY, there were a couple plays vs Oregon particularly on 3rd down where he beat defenders to the first down mark displaying a great burst and sudden quickness that's quite rare for anyone that size. Not to mention Oregon had one of the fastest defenses in CF last year. VY was a good athlete with great size but I wouldn't call him an elite athlete. Cardale Jones is an elite athlete.

Not sure what to make of this: Buckeyes give up 4 turnovers and after the Ducks complete all the scoring off those turnovers the Buckeyes still have enough points on the board to win the game 21-20. They didn't have to score again to win. They did have to keep the ball to wear down the Oregon defense. How many winners have given up 4 turnovers?
