I don't know if you will see this, but most cats can't stand the smell of citrus (Lemon, Orange and so on). Because of that, spraying areas with something citrus-scented might prevent Tan from chewing.

Seconded! Not all cats respond to it, but it's a cheap thing to try first! If lemon juice doesn't help, next step could be to try double sided tape, or Feliway.

Lol, I’ve never had a cat who didn’t try and rip a hole under a sofa or a box spring mattress. Tan is being perfectly normal, for a cat. They like to hide in the holes they make. Good luck, they’re all adorable 😻😻

가끔 느끼는거지만 탄이가 정말 일반적인 고양이st이고 광복이가 정말 매우 엄청!! 특별한 경우라죠 ㅋㅋ 저희집 냥이도 손톱에 살짝 걸리는게 있으면 장판이고 벽지고 다 뜯어놨는데ㅠㅠ 그 또한 애기가 10살쯤 되면서 갱냥기 오고서부터는 전혀 하지않아서 그때가 그립더라구요ㅠㅠ

One of my cousin's cats did the same thing to his armchair when she was Tan's age. He finally realized she had ripped a hole in the bottom and was hiding up inside for naps. I can't remember any of my cats being particularly destructive. Oh well, at least Tan isn't peeing everywhere...that would be much worse, lol!

My favourite is GB. Hes soo handsome and majestic but at the same time got a kind and understanding soul. One moment hes like a wise old man and next, he can be an adorable kitty fooling around. Quite and observing, but also knows how to go with the flow in style according to what situation the others create for him. Hes so calm and composed even in new situations, doesnt seem to panic or freak out. I feel comforted when seeing him and his way of being. Hes so versatile. I love him. 😘😘😘😍😍😍
There's a lot of other special traits of GB that we have not witnessed in the past months. People always see him as the quiet, behaved well mannered kitty, but he could also be the exact opposite. That's why i love GB, he is a very complex cat.

Cats can learn to understand a stern and consistent "No!" when you catch them doing something you don't want them to do. You have to be firm and CONSISTENT. Don't waste your breath trying explain or show them anything more. That approach of keeping it simple with a "no" has worked with my several cats. Good luck!

Aw Tan reminds me of my Claus (think of Tan but gray instead or ginger) when was a kitten; curious and getting himself into every possible hiding spot or top shelf. He's more stubborn now. I still love my Claus even with the new rebellious in him.🥰🐱

Yep, as soon as I saw the title, I was like…Yep troublemaker Tan is at it again!😂💖 Hopefully, there was a way to keep him from chewing stuff. He didn’t understand he was being naughty. I read that dogs and cats don’t understand when they’re doing naughty stuff, so they also don’t understand regret/guilt. So, showing it to them, doesn’t really mean much to them, they’re just doing what they want. You have to deter, or change the behaviour.😊
Aww, Tan reminds me so much of my cat! The biggest mischief maker, but also the biggest lover. Thankfully 10 years later and my cat's troublemaker tendencies have subdued, but not by much! I'm grateful for my cat's perpetual kitten energy and hope for 10 more years of it! Enjoy Tan and his troublemaker personality, it will keep him youthful :)

Both Big and Small Bro have ensured there are adequate litter boxes for GB and Tan so that may not be issue.
I recalled i read that every cat needs at least 2 litter box so imagine how many litter boxes i have for my 5 rescued cats - 2 each plus 2 spare. I agreed now with that saying - dog has owner but cat has servants! Hahaha.
Tan is too young. They love to get into trouble. My young kitty is exactly like him. We have cocoon under every bed in our house. 😂. That’s their favorite place to hide!

Tan is highly intelligent and curious. Like a two year old child, you have to be careful he can't hurt himself on something. For chewing, give him something to chew on like a beef jerky stick they make for cats. Mine do same thing under sofa and bed. Its probably just fun to slide around on your back ripping up the lining!
