There are a few things wrong with your picture: First, what if the guy doesn't find that particular girl attractive? Being hetero doesn't mean a guy is necessarily the type to get it up for all and any women. Second, if they've been close friends for a long time and shared a lot of memories, a mature adult's first reaction to a suggestion to "netflix and chill" wouldn't be "AwW yEah", it'd be "wait, why now and what does that mean for our relationship?" Y'know, like the feeling you'd get if your sister suggested "netflix and chill" with you wouldn't be excitement? Same thing. Third, even if the guy does accept the offer to "chill", that's still totally different from being the one who asked or intended to ask eventually, and being the guy who wouldn't spend time befriending a girl if it weren't for sex. That's the implication in the comments that i was making fun of.
Women usually decide (sometimes subconsciously) very early on whether you're someone they might ever sleep with or not, and if a guy doesn't think of any other outcome besides sex, he'll never be able to build lasting friendships with women because 1) he won't bother to befriend women he doesn't find sexually attractive 2) if the woman already decided "no way" he'll either give up and ghost, or make a move and get rejected, making things awkward and ruining the relationship 3) if the woman says "yes", they'll eventually stop having sex one day, and whenever such relationships end they always turn awkward and never last. That's the kind of guy incapable of having true female friends i was referring to in my comment, like you apparently. Cultured men know that some women are for sleeping with, and some are not, and those can last a lot longer.

There is a gender barrier in our Asian culture. You don't invite a person of the opposite sex to your house without any interest in them. A man invited a woman to his house meant that he is interested in her unless he invited her along with a group of friends for a big party or something similar. There are many interactions and social cues in our culture that can reveal about relationship status. A woman doesn't invite a man to go shopping, go on a trip or go to her house unless she is dating him. If a woman wants to introduce a man to her parents, it means she is interested in marrying him, etc. In general, we are taught to keep an appropriate distance to the opposite sex so when two people of opposite sex act close to each other, it means there is something between them.
