Giannis is humble because he grew up in poverty so he knows how hard you have to grind even for the simplest things. No disrespect or hate against people who came to NBA from great college programms (with specialized coaches and nutritionists and tutors and agents etc) but while they were being prepared to become elite athletes since they were in high school, Giannis was sharing a pair of shoes with his brother and slept in the gym between practices because he didn't even have the money to take a bus home.
And a story that you might haven't heard about: Last summer after the playoffs, he came to his old neighborhood in Greece along with his family, and bought a huge amount of food for poor people. And he did that in the middle of the night, without any reporter around or even bystanders to capture the moment. We only learned about it because one employee of the supermarket he bought the food from, took some pictures and shared them on Facebook.
That's a role model for young kids we should promote more and more: Work hard to achieve your goals, and always give back to the community without glorifying yourself. Just be humble.

Love to read this. Honestly this is the first final I watch since 90's (MJ vs Malone). For a reason I am a fan of Kareem Abdul Jabbar, so I become Bucks supporter. For any sport I follow, I always love athlete with noble character and I find that in Giannis. Cheers Jonathan.

Note of interest: Kareem was still known as Lew Alcindor for the series and changed his name to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar the day after winning the championship. The other three starters from that squad, Greg Smith, Bob Dandridge and Jon McGlocklin were key contributors and and a great TEAM concept much like our current Bucks. Cheers Jay

As a valet in the milwaukee area who's held onto his keys while he made a stop for business, he and all the other bucks players are more down to earth and regular people than any other pro sport players I've met.
He's a wise, honest and humble man. His willingness to talk to the media respectfully and openly is refreshing and, from the perspective of a fan of the game, it's appreciated.

Nope, reason why some of us should just watch the game lol. Aggressiveness equal foul trouble, bad shot since double teams, and working other teammates out the game. How he performed last game is just fine, smart decision and great passes.
