It’s actually the same source as bad omen. The bottles are now dropped by pillager captains too and the effect starts a raid when you enter a village and starts ominous trials when you enter a trial chamber. So they mad the “ominous” effect seperate from pillagers so they can add general bad events elsewhere which is cool

I’m a little upset about that, I wish they worked in a way we're you can do one normal run and one ominous run per chamber, so at least when you clear out one you always got a second use for it
This is what happens when Mojang only showcases the features that are actually coming in an update as opposed to when Mojang showcases the things they are hoping to add but don’t end up doing. And if it means we’ll keep getting updates like this, then I’ll gladly take more Minecraft Lives where they only show off a few things for the next update and add on to it later.

These are such great changes! I think though to balance out the mace being so powerful, a slightly less but still really powerful weapon should be added to the nether (Maybe as a rare bastion item) like a flame bow, and an exclusive weapon to the end (the end really needs an update)

i think a weaker “copper mace” could be a cool counterpart, where its limited in its functionality and maybe only saves 90% of fall damage with a really low amount of usage before it breaks where it gives you a taste of what the mace could do while also making it more wanted
