@Boo OK first time in a long while where a prospect has wowed me with not his power but his contact swing. If you know baseball those swings jump off the screen at you. I'll watch those over the home run swing EVERY DAY
That swing in that last AB is exactly how you beat the shift. More players should have learned how to do that.

It forces them to take the easy out at secondand allow the run to score - if he holds at first - they will attempt the play at home.
The video doesn't show it, but there is a coach at first base making the decision for go vs no-go - so unless there is other video that shows him running through the stop sign - I can't pass judgement unless I was there and could see what the 1st Base coach did (maybe I am wrong)

Right. It wasn’t even borderline. Just a routine ground ball with the catcher running.

great that he went 5-5 but you cant be nabbed trying to go for an extra base two times in the same game
The 2nd one was an attempt to get them to cut the ball off so the run could score. That way, even if they did get the runner at home he'd be in scoring position. The 1st one was definitely a misread off the wall.

I'm surprised that last one wasn't on by error. He probably would had been thrown out if the 3rd baseman got that cleanly.
@@sprybug Soft chopper down the line on a 3rd baseman playing deep and shaded over is a very hard play.
