I love how they used both team’s broadcasters in this highlight package. A great idea that definitely added to the already exciting opening day coverage.

It was not a great day for pitchers but what an opening day for the fans!! Hits and runs galore as the Blue Jays outlasted the Cardinals 10-9... Springer was red-hot going 5 for 6 and Romano closed the show grabbing the Save.. Kevin Keirmaier is a great addition to this Jays Squad!! Let's Go Blue Jays!! 💪⚾️🇨🇦

The Gateway Arch on the field has always been cool and unique to see. Even the view of the surroundings from inside the stadium 👌🏻

It was a beautiful scene, we were in the RF terrace, pitching was not great but i've never seen a team get more bloop hits, like 10 of them in one game. Great contact hitting team that's for sure.
@@EE-bg1de Pitching never fully gets into 12th gear until maybe the end of May-early June. Both teams can hit, so this sort of result was expected. Manoah is gonna be our #1, but he's also young and now has more responsibility. I know he'll do well. He's a beast!
As a Bluejays fan myself it's always been the best imo, it's on my list to go to alongside PNC,Fenway & Oracle Parks

Great game, Jays! Fantastic crowd. Seems like the pitch clock is shaking up the pitchers and doing batters some favor. Crazy game by Springer. And Romano ice cold to the bone like we know and admire him. Go Jays!
If the mariners game showed us anything, it's the fans that are getting to pitchers because of the pitch clock.
The game is catering a bit more to hitters but it's also the usual April struggles. Pitchers take a bit longer to get into form. Spring training doesn't prepare enough for the intensity of the first few weeks of the season when hitters are trying to secure their spot in the lineup.

This team instead of relying on HR like in the past this group can just come on in waves. Outfield defense looked great as well
Bichette gonna hit 350+ and break hits record in a season. He's going to maintain the level from August and September of last season.

Dan thinks fly balls are homers.. Dan is a better college basketball broadcaster than a baseball broadcaster. So many times I look up hear him like it is gonna be a home run then it isn’t. You would think watching so many games would improve his depth perception.
@@keith96969that’s bullshit. There were at least 3 fly balls to the warning track yesterday that I saw and not ONCE did he get baited into thinking it would leave the yard. He would say something like “swing and a fly ball relatively deep to centre for Guerrero, not a tough play for the centre fielder” that’s BS

One of the best performances both offensively and defensively from George Springer in a Jays uniform! If he hadn’t made that catch we would’ve lost the game! Also Jordan Romano is one of the best closers in MLB, great W to start the season! 😉😉

What a great season opener! You can't ask for much more as a fan...excitement all around, even if the home team lost. Everyone was entertained, and I'm happy to see all the new guys/rookies get their time in the spotlight today too! Let's go Blue Jays!

Great game, I'm a Yankees fan but can't help but appreciate quality baseball.
Blue Jays are classic feast or famine. But their lineup is so powerful.
This team is built for small ball. They manufactured runs. Can’t call this feast or famine as their approach was clear from the start of spring.
The Jays are a much different team this year compared to last. They have a lot more speed on the base paths and are more balanced with left handed batters. They gave up some power and replaced it with defence and speed. It was noticeable with their base running.
@@craigharrison5406 TBH they really didn't give up that much power considering they only lost Teo who is a HR hitter,
& Lourdes isn't really a HR hitter & hits more for average.
But with both of them gone they became more balanced offensively & WAAAAY better defensively.
Varsho's plays alone on defense where he didn't force a ball home & hit the cut off man or 2nd basemen were things Teo & Lourdes refused to do.
Feast or famine was last season.
This team is built to score in any situation.
Varsho has almost as much power as Teo. He hit 27 last year and the Rogers center will probably up that number. Belt has some pop and K K isnt really a power hitter but I'll take his defense and speed over Lourdes anyday. This team should be fun to watch.
Also that highlight where Varsho had the ball in the corner and was going to throw it home, but then threw to second stopping a double was a example of why we're better than last year

This high scoring game was the longest of the day at 3h48min including the 10min or so delay. There were lot of games which ended below 2h30min timeline. Manfred and Epstein are doing a fabulous job on pace of play. Kudos!
