Hella, forsho, yes
yes
Yes
You never know
Think if he didn’t have to miss 4 years to do military service during his prime…
Personally dude I think the 4 years off served him for the better, yeah it sucks that it was during his prime, but alot of people argue the Yair fight was a fluke, so if you take that into account, he’s only lost to ortega and Volk. He’s finished everyone else in the first round since he’s been back, so I personally think he’s still the same zombie lol
@Cardio Cain how is Noah ?
@Cardio Cain jawa ras rendah ind0G
@Umar Khattab alaulhuakbar 💣💥
That roll into mount was a thing of beauty
@William Blackfyre it’s a Judo sacrifice throw but it works as a counter for a double leg so you see it a lot in wrestling too
@USF Fan came here to make that very comment. Great shirt and very accurate in it's description.
Gotta love the shirt
@William Blackfyre same and agree
It's a TKD move actually
Love how KZ just isn’t phased by punches throw at him. No dodging, no blocking, just aggression
That’s why he looked the way he did last night… years of that catching up to him.
CTE Zombie.
That's why his nickname is the Korean zombie
@Shattered 214 that was an elbow though.. that would knock most fighters out with the momentum he had.
Getting knocked out by an elbow like that doesn't really gage ones chin imo
@William Bale really not a smart way to fight at all
The Korean Zombie is a mixed martial arts legend who no man should ever sleep upon.
@toocool baby rightly so
He just lost to volk 😕
I wanna see him get some revenge on yair
Hope he beats paper champ
Max will always be the real Champ
@Onward 24ever exactly which is crazy, i honesty didnt want amyone to lose, but i thought TKZ was gonna KO Brian. Idk how people are overlooking him, after his loss to Yair, how can people forget about his KOs over Renato Moicano and Frankie Edgar where he looked damn near invincible in both bouts.
He would've been champ if he didn't have to take 4 years off. He had everything he needed to run through the division.
@D James Yeah you're right, but it's very unlikely that KZ would rush in straight away like Aldo did against Conor.
@Sukhdev R34 Chad Mendes did well against Conor because he's a world class wrestler which is Conors weakness, I'm a fan of TKZ but he is primarily a striker with a background in Taekwondo, Judo, BJJ and no strikers are beating featherweight McGregor I don't doubt it would've been a great fight but McNuggets demolished the FW division in his prime and destroyed the FW "goat" with 1 punch
@Cahzinar X TKZ was a very good grappler.
@OneJaw No, TKZ would've beaten Conor. TKZ was very tough and would've weathered the early storm. Chad Mendes did well against him on short notice, and TKZ was better than him.
Korean Zombie is one of those guys that even if he never becomes champion he will still be a legend .
The Korean Zombie has to be one of the coolest nicknames in UFC ever.
I can’t wait for Zombie’s fight against Volk. Everyone’s sleeping on him, but we all know he has the tools to win. Don’t forget they call him the Zombie, because of how durable he is. It’s going to be a banger for sure!
pain
😔
Definitely wasn’t a banger
Volk was many steps above
Volk is a terrible matchup for TKZ man. He’s probably gonna eat him up
I really hope he wins. I like Volk because he's an honest and likeable person and very skilled fighter but TKZ has been one of the most exciting fighters in MMA history. Nearly every fight of his has been great, I wish he wasn't so passive against Aldo.
Strange seeing someone doing this to dusin all this years ago who is arguably one of the greatest Lw ever today. The zombie is a fkn animal
@lord Hamoudi bj penn frankie Edgar eagle. Not in any order. My fav though are porier hooker and felder. I’ll randomly remember a fight from those 3 and watch the whole card and their next/previous fight card too. I train and that’s the style I prefer. That doesn’t mean I can rewrite history.
@Live-in Legend who you think is the goat in lightwheight ?
@Live-in Legend Poirier is the 3rd best LW of all time behind Khabib and oliveira
@Oliver lövsdet answer my question then, what has he ever achieved in his career? Benson Henderson, Anthony pettis, rda have actually achieved things. Conor even has achieved things. Oliviera has more records than he has accomplishments. Bj penn, khabib and Edgar are basically mma fathers and have achieved more that fights dustin has had. You are just new, I don’t blame you. Get fight pass and treat yourself. Look at the people dustin has fought and check their records lol.
Yeah he really broke porier in this match
@Peter Griffin want to see a match lol
@뀨류뀨규 zombie was 26 in this fight. poirier was only 22. dustin would destroy him in rematch
Love the white knights riding in to rescue Dusty from any criticism😂😂😂
@Lecram and Korean zombie was fucking young too , zombie will gonna be a champion soon
@Lecram if Dustin fights Zombie again at 45, I still think Zombie wins. It's more of a matchup nightmare honestly. KZ is just physically healthier than Dustin at 45 and an all out war will always favor TKZ. He's got heavier hands, granite chin, equally dangerous grappling, and good cardio. All of which Dustin has, but a weight cut at 45 will take away most of those for him.
Systematic breakdown of Poirer. Beautiful to see TKZ utilize that forward pressure, cage cutting, angles, and truly use every weapon in MMA. A plethora of different punches, kicks, knees, elbows, takedowns, grappling, and submissions at this mans disposal and he used all of them.
It's a damn shame the zombie had to leave for the army in his prime. He could have changed the course of featherweight history with his skills.
This win aged really well for TKZ. Poirier was good at FW and great at LW. I’m anticipating a great fight between TKZ and Volk.
It almost looks like he could have hit him harder and knocked him out multiple times but instead he kept him awake to punish him. Destroyed
Massive heart form Dustin shown here. He kept improving and now look at him 💪
Dustin was a street brawler so that explains why he used to fight like that. Swinging crazy, not much technique, and letting a lot of emotions interfere with his fighting which led to getting dropped multiple times. He’s sure came a long way tho hats off to him and to KZ who seems to be heavily underestimated and underrated
I've only ever managed to see replays and highlights from Zombie but I really want to see him live! Let's hope the Volk fight gets booked and stays booked!
One of the few fighters in the UFC who lived up to its Moniker, he keeps coming at you no matter what you're throwing
Man, he got some nice moves. Not only he's skilled, his moves are also very nice to see
I wanna see the zombie vs Conor. I would love if they made it a ten-rounder, though McGregor likely won’t last the full 5 rounds. Having Herb Dean would be his safest bet..
That butter fly guard was awesome. Zombie is an absolute beast
I just watched Zombie and Volk fight and was thinking what a machine this man was but clearly just tired and battered AF after years of fighting. Hadn't seen much of his fights, I'm pretty casual. Masterful fighter. Awesome to get educated on someone's amazing career after seeing them willing to fight to the death. Wish so much good will to him and his fam. Rocky forreala
Imagine the hype the Korean zombie would get if he beat Dustin this year! That would be crazy
Why couldn’t he have done this against volkanovski 😭 I bet $100 dollars on Korean Zombie hoping for a miracle
That was so sad to watch I actually felt bad watching it you never wanna see such a legend go down like that
crazy to think that Dustin used to fought at FW, and now he is one of the heaviest LWs and even heavier than some WWs like Colby
He walked around 180 to 185 at featherweight, he showed it on instagram when he was stepping up on short notice(forgot against who) and showed him stepping on a digital scale hitting 180 pounds. He then talked about planning to move up to either lightweight or welterweight and how much it sucked to cut weight. Whereas colby looks like he walks around 175 or 170 barely cutting weight.
Edit: short notice fight was cub swanson and he was 187 in that fight, said he walks around 190 usually
It takes people a while to find their ideal weight class.
Korean Zombie is the man.. he gat balls and can take damage and still find a way to win or loss in style
KZ is much older now and this game isn’t kind as you get older, more susceptible to injuries, concussions, etc….
That double leg reversal was beautiful.
Have to say seeing these vids out there of and seeing dp getting destroyed live always puts a 🙂 on my face!!! lmao
The tackle reverse tho😂😂😂
Nice...but I think I was most impressed by the way he rolled over when Dustin shot on him with the double leg takedown. Not sure I've ever seen that before.
KZ is such a badass man and he's always stoic which adds to his coolness
Wicked fight,, finished him with his signature move.
Essentially the same result when Dustin fought mcgregor.
He is a completely different fighter now, I imagine he would exact a serious revenge beating now, given the chance
I really wanted zombie to win I hope he doesn’t retire and finish’s strong I would love to see him win the belt
Never a boring fight with the zombie. Too bad we missed years of his prime due to military service.
I still remember Porier crying after this loss! Porier's redemption and rise have been legendary ❤️ keep growing DP you are a good person!
@GitGudGaming very tough of u bro
Dustin “luisiana swamp trash” poirier
if korean zombie didn’t have to do 4 years of service i think we would have easily seen a championship caliber fighter out of him
As much as I like tkz his chances r low at winning, but I'll still root for him when the time comes
This Korean zombie was not the same zombie that fought Volk last night. His physique in this fight versus last night ain't even close he is ripped in this fight last night he looked dehydrated and just didn't look even close to the same fighter as in this fight !!
If he didn't go to military service he would've become 145 champ. He had the wrong gameplan for Aldo and would've beaten Conor, he's too tough and well rounded for him and was a very good striker.
I'd love to see him back in some huge fights now
Now seeing this highlight after the olivera fight, looks like Dustin has been bad at ground from day 1. He still looked clueless on the ground during his fight with olievera. He should probably get someone from outside ATT to train groundgame specifically.
He submitted Holloway with mounted triangle, his submission defense can use a lil work though!!!
Korean Zombie!! One of the most entertaining fighters of all time!
True heart and fighting spirit!
Gotta also respect DP's comeback and journey!
Imagine what could've been. Zombie is a savage!!
Damn I think TKZ is still relevant now because his skillset was ahead of his time back then
I love this fight one of the first 5 round non title main events and it was glorious.
every time I feel bad about Connor I just watch this
He is the embodiment of what it means to have heart and leave it all on the mat. The zombie is a bamf
Porier seems to be a fighter that got better with age for sure. Some fighters lose their touch after a few years of fighting but not homie
@Joey Central
Because the army doesn't teach you to be a great MMA fighter. It teaches you to be many things...some of which translates well to civilian life. But MMA is so incredibly specialized that nothing can replace the 4 years he had out of the octagon.
@Tista Kere why?
@Joey Central wrong
@Piattos I’d argue that military made him as good as he is now and he wouldn’t be as good without military.
The current dustin is probably the best he will ever be. Sucks for him he will never be a champ
Poirer is such a big hearted fighter. Lotta courage and determination. Would love to see him have one more crack at the belt before he retires. But after that loss to Oliveira, unless he makes a 3-0 run in the division I just don't see how he'll get that chance again right?
Korean zombie was a goddamn goat. His record wasn’t all that but damn did could this dude fight. So much love and respect
damn he fucked up dustin 😂
Yeah but at the same time is very impressive how Dustin had became such a killer he would murder Korean Zombie these days...
How have I never seen this fight or heard of this guy until now!?! Wow!
I didn’t realize how well Poirier can take a punch(es)!
Both have improved so much since then, big fan of both fighters
145 lbs was really not the right weight class for Dustin.
@Alex Salazar please give me 1 excuse he’s used after a loss ?
@Jergis nah, its just that it wasn't the correct weight class. conor destroyed dustin much worse than zombie did at 145. but got destroyed by dustin at 155.
@Ahmad Hakim Conor hasn't done shit in the lw. Get off his nuts. 😆
@Alex Salazar soon to be 170lbs. Guess Dustin will be the next one bulking up to 190. 😂
Excuse 🤦🏻♂️
Weight classes are different for these two now. And Dustin has improved vastly since then. A rematch I think would go differently, though we're not likely to see it.
It might but Zombie has gotten better too and matchups make fights. He might have his number.
Yes weight classes are different and Dustin has improved since that fight. Tough call to say Dustin would win the rematch as both are still fighting well and in the top 5 of their respective divisions. Would definitely be a banger!
This main event was amazing because it was free
Great fight, saw it live with my dad. He was hyped the entire fight
That was long time ago I would love to see them go at it again... Maybe he will throw the kicks like it did to Conor?? Who knows??
Wouldn’t happen poirier was fighting at featherweight at the time nowadays he’s much bigger really filled his body up
That back roll was beautiful
Two different Dustin now and back then. Good luck TKZ, its time to shine and take the belt to home
I agree ☝️
Would def give volk some things to think about but ultimately I think he gets it done by decision if they fought
When he rolled the takedown hell yeah
He fought poirier like no other has. Beat him in everything
The Zombie's underrated. He's a beast!!
Let's all just agree that he is one bad ass dude to take that beating and keep going. Got the better of him that day but in the long run I've never heard of the other guy but Dustin porier the whole world knows of
Give Zombie the title shot!
@alex espinoza pain
He’s getting it!!
Total domination Korean Zombie! But that was then Dustin is a different beast now.
Those knees were absoulutly legendary
Damn, Dustin got worked. 😢
Shows how good Dustin is and was tho.. look at those sprawls.. Korean zombie was a beast too still iz.. idk what there missing lol
This was actually a really fun fight. I say Poirier wins a rematch though. That’s actually not a bad idea🤔
Poirier outweighs him by 15 pounds nowadays but it would still be a good fight
“A gust of wind and pea head does the chicken dance” - Korean “Notorious” McZombie
I don't think that can happen again now. Dustin will definitely kill the Korean Zombie if they figth now.
He’s one of my favorite fighters
Poirier has certainly taken these losses on the chin but put in all the hard work to get to where he is right now.
#dustinthediamondpoirier
Dustin where he’s at today: Choked for gold AGAIN 😂 literally choked 🤣
He didn’t give up and now look where he’s at
Most certainly can beat Alex. Zombie is a tough rugged fighter whose technicality is often overlooked..
I'd like to see Dustin Porier back down at featherweight and truly see how much he's advanced.
I will always root for TKZ. Get that strap my man
Man I like to see Korean Zombie vs McGregor
He doesn’t fuck around,he’s a real deal
The evolution of Poirier is amazing
He's still getting submitted?
That flip takedown defense to mount was insane.
Jesus....I forgot this fight even happened let alone how one sided it was! Dustin Poirier moving up a weight class was the best thing he could have done.
@dcss I think for Poirier it was becoming too difficult to make 145. On Rogan he said he would get up to 190lbs. The guy is big at LW.
i dont get it.
wouldn it be better for dustin to stay at a lower weight class so he can fight relatively smaller/shorter guys?
Moving up weightclass means fighting more bigger/taller guys, right?
Korean Zombie is a legend!
Damn I’ve never seen this fight. Insanely good!
@chris CP3 just watched it. Great recommendation! Thanks brother!
Watch the full fight, Dustin is fighting back too and also this fight is quite slugfest one of the best fight in the list back then.
that back roll was sweet
이때 정찬성은 진심 레알 개멋짐
I'd love to see a rematch
Damn he is amazing.
Zombie reminds me of Cruz in regards to what would have been if these guys had not lost a half decade of their fighting primes. We prob would have already saw holloway/mcgregor vs zombie and even cruz vs barao
Dustin was cutting to much weight for 145. Obvious when he moved up to 155
Man... Seing this makes me feel "afraid" of Hooker going to 145 division. Don't know why he wants to drop actually two weight classes (of his "natural" weight) and expect to perform better than before... But I wish him the best for sure,, he's such a fucking warrior.
Proves how much Dustin Poirier has came on
Good lord, no wonder that interview he was about to cry.
Would definitely been a Champ if he had not done mandatory military service
