handsome squidward I watched it and in my opinion Exo's cover is really similar to the original I mean really similar and that surprised me a lot. It's more similar than Monsta x's but Monsta x's cover is kinda sound more modern(Idk which word I should use, sorry) than classic, as TVXQ! and Exo's cover are. I mean, the way Monsta x's members pronounce english words fits the song better than the rest for me. ^^

곡에 이해도가 무척이나 완벽한 상태 ㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜ 볼때마다 짜릿하네 주문 커버는 진짜 몬엑을 넘는 아이돌이 아직 없다 주문 커버 나올때마다 다시보러오는거 나만 그런거 아니네 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ
주문 커버 다 봤는데 여기가 제일 정석적으로 가장 정확하게 잘 살려 커버한듯 특히 기현 노래하는거, 고음 올리는거 세상 깨끗하고 시원하게 깔끔하고 여긴 보컬들이 다들 음색도 좋고 잘해서 화음도 좋고 셔누로 주축되는 춤도 다들 깔끔하게 재현 그래서 보기가 제일 편함
신인이 커버할 때 이렇게 오버 안되고 딱 정석적으로 제대로 잘하기 어려울텐데 신인때같지가 않음 ㅋㅋ 신인이나 데뷔 얼마 안된 돌들 명곡 커버할 때 보통 약간 힘이 더 들어가서 좀 더 오버가 돼서 볼 때 별로 편하지가 않은데 얘넨 진짜 딱 원곡을 최대한 깔끔하게 재현함 그래서 다들 좋아하는듯

2023년에 보는데 다른 팀 미로틱 커버보다 몬엑이 더 자연스럽고 뛰어난 이유는 몬엑의 음색 덕도 있다고 봄… 파트마다 원래 동방신기 음색과 최대한 비슷한 멤버들이 불러서 싱크가 더 잘 맞는 느낌.

I understand why some of the cassies are pretty strict when it comes to hoobaes covering tvxq's song. It's because tvxq has set the higher bar with a perfection when it comes to singing live while dancing to a tough choreo and the fans got used to it. The slightest imperfection will lead to a letdown. Mirotic is hard, in fact every tvxq's songs are hard. Rising sun and Purple Line are even hardest. Kihyun's high note is great, love the fact that he didn't try to do it like Changmin but instead lower it down to fit his own voice. Love I.M's rap & Wonho's vocal.
I've seen so many groups tried to cover Mirotic but honestly, by far...Monsta x is the best - with the singing, and dance. ^^

Honestly, some of the comments here are really strange. Monsta X was a rookie group when they performed this. They were promoting and barely had a week to practice... and they slayed. Lots of cassies agree this is one of the best if not the best cover. Of course DBSK is better. It’s their song after all. They had weeks if not months to perfect it.

I've watched this so many times and I just cannot get over how flawless the execution of the song is: the dance moves were smooth, the outfits were on point, the overall distribution was great (everybody got a moment to shine) and the expressions were fierce!

In my opinion, why this cover is one of the best ones is because of the vibe. Of course their vocals and choreography are flawless but only Monsta X are able to replicate the mature vibe that TVXQ is so known of!! They truly did justice to this song by bringing out the 'TVXQ feels' while also making it their own!
yes i agree with you. they definitely have that vibe. and at that time, they were rookies, so a lot of people still associate monsta x's concept with TVXQ or 2PM....but now, monsta x have become an entirely unique identity and a unique brand. I am proud to say that Monsta X succesfully created their own identity and their own style.

I don't exactly search for what I get from original version of a song in the cover version. because the people doing it are different the way they pour emotions are different so this is why I don't judge a cover piece by comparing it to the original version. You might think differently than me,I respect, however this is how I think about this topic.
