Okay Alright. but if you look in this video the singers are portraying the original dancers/singers of the music video. The fact is that Asians do not that highlighter yellow skin, in fact most Asians are slightly pale. I to would be offended if the artists painted their skin black however they matched the skin tone of Bruno Mars and his dancers. I understand that you may not appreciate the way they tried to portray the original artists but please try to see that they tried their best to match the skin tone exactly and wasn’t just painting their skin black for the fun of it.
As a brown skinned person, I don't feel offended by this. It's just make up and brown skin is also not ugly. If she went on stage all pale skinned, with the costume and all, it would look less fun. I'd just go, "oh, bruno mars..." Instead of "oh yeah! Bruno Mars!" The brown skin added to the craziness of the performance.

Blackface was very offensive, yes, but that was because it was used to portray black stereotypes and create comedic situations based on those stereotypes. This is nowhere near that. This was a damn fine performance that, while having some comedic moments (nut shot), their representation of Bruno was never portrayed as a stereotype and was part of a joke that could happen to literally any race (again, nut shot). Blackface is offensive when it's stereotyping, as is with yellowface or whatever other colors. But when it's to emulate a truly great person, I think it's completely fine. By prohibiting the complete imitation, you're basically denying that they're whatever race they are. Imitation is the highest form of flattery. Blackface *was* offensive, but it doesn't have to be anymore. I don't give a shit if you want to paint your skin lighter and imitate an Asian model as long as it's accurate to them. You're not imitating, say, Beyonce because she's black. You're imitating Beyonce and she just happens to be black. You're not imitating Cher because she's white. They've been cosplaying as other people this entire show and that's basically the point of the show, to recreate a song. People found it hilarious when guys cosplayed as female singers, had boobs on and wigs on, but suddenly it's a problem now. If you had a problem with the show then you shouldn't be watching it from the very beginning.
And for the yellow skin, she didn't paint her face pitch black and drawn on thick red lips (that's the blackface that was offensive and that's equivalent to the yellow face). Instead she literally had the same tanned complexion Bruno - who btw isn't even African American -, imitated him, have you ever seen an Asian or a human being for that matter, who has yellow skin? It would be offensive if it's done in the stereotypical offensive way, but here it was literal imitation.
ahum first : allow me to tell you that "Black" doesn't refer to only african americans, I am african and black, there are black latinos as well, black australians as well. Considering bruno's fathers origins, chances are he has black ancestors.
