1. The idol didn't want to get cosmetic surgery, but they were pressured into doing so by their company or were mocked so much by the public for not looking perfect that it hurt their self-image.
2. Their company wants them to live up to a "perfect kpop idol" image, which means not revealing they got plastic surgery, regardless of whether the surgery was simply the idol's personal choice or if they only had it done because of outside pressure.
3. Vanity. The idol simply wants the public to believe that their beauty is natural.

Tiffany was my bias back when SNSD just debuted. I remember antis always criticized her because she didn’t know Korean customs like the other members. Antis kept saying that part of Tiffany’s “American rudeness” was her friendship with Jessi as if she was a bad influence. Now look at both of them thriving
I wasn't 'there' for any of that, but I've learned a lot about the anti-fan crap since. Payback was the 2013 Dream Concert. And Jessi, I came to know through the Unnies. Like Tiffany said, she never really changed, and what a tough path she took to get where she is now. She's effing great, and an inspiration.
I am Sone, too. And I actually love how "healthy" looking Tiffany now is. Like bruh, she soooo skinny back then. She looks stunning then but even more now.

I grew up in the US, so luckily, I have a lot of good friends here. But man... I've dealt with A LOT of racism at work (I work in music) and just normal everyday life going out.
Luckily, I'm a Hong Konger, and they're just as loud and as direct as as Americans lol, so I never get told I'm too loud or rude there. But I definitely struggle with the culture there and I'm always told I'm "too American".
But I also lived in Tokyo and Seoul for work. Tokyo was the worst. I really didn't enjoy Japan. Japanese culture is so stiff and EVERYTHING you did or didn't do was considered "rude"... I was SO TIRED in Japan. Korea was similar...

I love how jessi asks the guest (mostly idols) who they fight with a lot. Because on screen, you see them smiling and getting along, but you don't know what goes on off cam.
Not only that but who doesn't argue? Even if it's small disagreements, this shows that in groups even small ones like in Tiffany's case you'd be living with 14 other women, you're bound to butt heads from time to time.
I think most idols talks about their fight a lot too? I only follow 2nd generation groups though, I don't know how things now... But group like SJ & SNSD, they often talk about their fights on talk shows. This Taeyeon-Tiffany fight during tour was revealed like 9 years ago. They said they almost canceled their duet but the managers get them in a room and they made up crying and hugging each other 😂
SNSD, in particular, fought a LOT because they had strong personalities, but they persevered.

I feel so emotional especially when Tiffany mention how happy she was that Nunu nana was a hit and she mention how proud Jessi's parents might have been that she have her own show now. 😭 She even said to the PD's to be good to Jessi because she's a sweet girl deep inside. You might not be aware but Jessi was in her 15th yr in the industry as well but she's only getting the recognition that she deserves now. Im really grateful that she have a friend like Tiffany who supported her from ups and down. Im really glad that Tiffany was doing what she likes now. Girls Generation will forever be LEGENDARY and Into the New World truly describe their legacy the best. So happy for their friendship.
