- Garrett Advancing Motion debuted the latest in the G-Series turbo range, the G35, at SEMA 2019 and also had the B is for Build Lamborghini Huracan on their stand. It is not only wide-body, but has a LS engine with twin GTX turbos and converted to manual. We talk to Chris about the build and the turbo set-up.

@@bradenwuesthoff5639 i love the look of open engine bay showing whats in it and car legit weighs nothing. the engine is powerfull as all hell and he gonna run it as a drag car what is there not to love about it? i mean yeah the front quater pannels showing door thingies is not the most pleasing, and the overfenders on back looks intriguing to say the least. but calling it the uglies hurracan is just pure baseless hate.
do you know how many chromed hurracans i seen so far? too many and you call this ugly?

But, yes, those Dubai and US Lambos all tricked out, neon, gold, etc, are the most hideous shit I've seen (in Lambo's)

Chris summed it up: Just a bunch of guys workin in a regular shop without specialized tools. It is an amazing feat. A lot will look at that car and say meh, but he doesn't have a million dollar pro shop with a full fab building.

Garrett!! Hit up the Boosted Boiz for a turbo sponsorship! Kyle just finished an MR2 with a Honda K swap with twin turbos! He made 1045hp with ebay turbos. Imagine what it would do with a set of your G-series turbos!

its not the max output that makes them good. its the efficiency and the spool time and the output for their package size. ebay turbos are mostly cheaply made thrust bearing turbos which are slow to spool and designed for just max power. i wouldnt trust something spinning over 100k rpms that is made cheaply like an ebay turbo. those honda bois are brave

@@bailmacd i mean, im sure they are reverse engineered from a name brand but i just wouldnt trust the choice of materials they use or the quality control. saving a few hundred dollars isnt worth potentially destroying a motor to me. and im a ball bearing kinda guy. i prefer usable power everywhere over a little extra peak power and a big lack of mid range. its preference i guess. i wanna see what the new garrett G35 turbos can do. its rated 1050hp in a gt35 sized housing package. thats crazy
@@Cheeseypoofs85 im not denying they are lower quality. But they are dual ball bearing turbos that have made over 800hp on their cars. There is also the fact that they are cheap to begin with, so replacing them isnt really a big deal for them financially lol. Im sure they will find a sponsor eventually, the deserve it a hundred times over.
I hate these supercar builds, everyone is doing them these days. But Chris knocked this out of the ballpark with that one. That looks so insane, and it is built to be used so it is even cooler.
Same with me, getting tiresome. But the Burntacan is a weird amalgamation of looks and the still wanting to go fast. While it seems like the normal trend for SEMA is to look good and not care about driving.
Tanner Moore Well Sema is basically a platform to show of your car and since you can’t really race them/move them around of course they are going to focus in aesthetics. Unfortunately the actually engineering will sadly be overlooked until he either puts in the drag strip or dynos it. That absolutely doesn’t take away of the literal miracle they produced with the time and space they had. I’m proud of those guys especially Oscar.
So the subtitles for the intro read as " sup guys im chris from beers for bills " 😭😂😂 thought that was rather fitting for those who know Chris.

It’s beginning to become apparent how Garrett Turbos took a major risk involving B is for Build into their SEMA showcase. Thank God the team pulled it off. The Lambo is gorgeous, mean looking and futuristic even. Hopefully it slays the track! I don’t doubt that it will. One thing that is for certain, B is for Build gained some serious exposure and experience from this project, and I expect them to build and grow exponentially from this point forward. B is for Build is easily one of my top 3 favorite KRplus channels (especially after this build), and despite the risk, Garrett was smart in trusting the BIFB team to get the job done. Even though it took up to the very last minute, they NEVER GAVE UP!!! And that motivates me tremendously. Never give up on your dreams!! Thanks to Garrett turbos for helping make this sweet LS swap MT Lambo Huracan build a reality! 💯👍🙌👏👏👏💪😎
Nice to see that Chris’s Huracan is getting the attention it deserves....most videos I’ve seen have been like “meh”, but folks don’t realize that this thing was rebuilt from the ground up. It might not be 100% flawless, but this was a massive undertaking; especially within the timeframe they had. Love the car and can’t wait to see more of it.
I'm not gonna lie.. Oscar did a great job on the Fab work.. and without him, this car would of not made it but Chris is still the man.. that vision and getting this build to come to life is impeccable.. great job Bis for Build team!.. dont forget kyle too!

If I was ever in Chris or anyone that has a huge following position I would never look at comments the amount of hate people give to a guy that started of on cheap cars in his small garage on KRplus doing something he likes and pulling something like this off.. how can you hate ? It’s simply jealousy yes some would say why wreck a Lamborghini with a v8 blah blah maybe watch how it all started... the car was wrecked and to cut cost he bought it with the front end cut off and the rear... just go and see episode 1 and tell me he did a crap job again. Augustin Fabre There are some many iterations and models specifically for builds. That’s why when he speaks of these parts it’s intended for people who are well versed in turbo setups that want to see what’s new or what got changed.
eliminatorxx713 yes I guess, but at the end of the day, he speaks to anyone interested in a turbo for his car, not just for well versed aiming for 1000+ hp that know all their previous models but maybe i m wrong.
Truly like to see what the mid engine LS will do on the track. Also like to see what the 2020 vette's will do.

He should wrap in carbon fiber the lower diffusers. And then put a short spoiler on the back. And a glass engine cover. The shifter seems a little bit far back. Love the build.
why wrap in carbon fiber when the whole car is carbon?
@@kendallwilliams9808 it's a sheet of aluminum, the carbon fiber could give more structural support.
Watch the Build video. Chris states the diffusers were quickly built for the SEMA show, hence the aluminium. There also was an engine cover but I think they ran into some issues or rather it hides the engine which is what everyone wants to see so they left it off. Remember that this car is built to be raced, so some parts will finally have to be redone or totally removed.

As much as I love the look and the project, that's NOT a race car. The rear of this car is 100% looks and 0% aero. As for turbo placement, while this car will do GREAT on the dyno and 0-60, as soon as it starts going fast the turbos are going to choke with low pressure air. The frame was also not designed to withstand high lateral Gs AND there's no roll cage. Chris also cheapened out hardcore on the drivetrain and suspension. Still amazing project and it was a blast to watch it from start to finish.
It has a Lamborghini Gallardo transmission...I fail to see how that's "cheaping out"?

while i agree mostly, the engine is from texas speed, built specifically for this, the transmission is from a galardo and those can take serious power, the axles are custom made and beefy therefore the drivetrain hasn't been cheapened out on. the trubos can easily make way more power than he's looking for and they are sucking from the trailing edge of the car (as the compressor housing is the last thing the air hits) so i think that'll be allright. i beleive this was made to be a Drag car so lateral Gs aren't going to be a huge issue. you dont need a rollcage unless you're running 10s so he can worry about that when the time comes. these cars are built to be pretty sturdy (even considering the fire damage). i'll give you the unaerodynamic and flimsy bodywork and i can't remember the suspension though im sure it's not setup for drag racing with such little clearence between the rear wheel and the actual fender (the black one)
Its a texas speed motor, Gallardo trans and custom G force axle's where did he cheap out?
Also the turbos wont starve as the air going over the car will come back down into the engine bay much like air flowing over a ute body (truck for you yanks) and into the tub, the turbos will then feed off that
Was a great vision he had for this build. However, It does not matter how much he spent on the motor, tranny and all the other bits and pieces. As expensive as all this was and with all that cash spent I have to agree the execution and implementation of this build should have been way better. Quality is key

Get a set of turbos out to Kyle at BoostedBoiz foresure! They love their ebay turbos and they work, clearly theyve proven that. But it would be a great side by side comparison for them to show ebay turbos vs similar size name brand Garrett turbos

Having the turbos close to the engine should produce a faster response to the engine exhaust. It needs to be placed on a dyno.
The intake/intercooler piping is pretty long and has a lot of volume .

The car isn't that ugly as some people here yell out loud ( Although everyone is entitled to their opinion )
I like the car very much. It looks great. There is only one detail that makes the car look 'odd' in general and wish they change that, to make the car better looking.
The front wheel arches, with the huge straight black hole at the back sides. I rather see the wheel arches enclosing around the entire wheel.
The entire car looks streamlined, and it's just this one detail that makes the car feels 'off' because it is not streamlined at all.
And maybe... very maybe, they should paint the fenders underneath, on the backside white as well. To make it look like it is all connected with eachother, instead seeing all these 'loose' components.
Again everyone has their own opinions and taste is very personal. This is mine, however. Are there more here who are on the same page?
