Flight attendants are quite stronger than they look. You can tell when they help you put your cabin luggage up. I've seen so many of them looking small yet carrying a big weight up easily. They're trained for this.
Yes, we are trained to open and close the door. But no, we're not trained to help you with your luggage as that is the passenger's responsibility. There are so many crews that suffer from back pain and HNP because of trying to lift and close the pivot luggage bin and helping people with heavy overweight bags 💔🥺
@@izzieflorenz5794 I'm sorry about that, but thankfully I always pack my hand luggage light! It's only around 3 kgs.
I wonder why people will have this wrong impression that flight attendants are to carry our luggage? Ahhhh yes our Chinese flight attendants ❤
For those mocking. The doors are easily 200kg and that silver handle by the hinge it’s called a “gust lock” meaning if the wind is blowing, the door won’t close on you.
The downside is that you need to PUSH against the wind so you can release the gust lock and then pull the door in…while dangling 6mts above ground with nothing to hold you.
It’s like closing your car’s door when the wind is blowing hard
Push or pull no one is going to be outside of the aircraft pushing the door shut.
So just don't be women? Get a real man.
A lot of that weight is the latch mechanism. The door has to open out so it doesn't hog up cabin space, but it also has to NOT come open no way no how during flight, which means the latches have to hold against the pressure differential at 35,000ft or more. It's considered poor from to explosively decompress on a cabin full of passengers.
Most everything else automated, esp A I schematics.
Would a gull wing design improve any part of that rough process?

Ok. From an engineering perspective, answer these:
1. How would your "automatic" system be overridden in case of a haul loss?
2. How would you expect everyone on the plane to be able to override your "manual security lock"
Your rolls royce car door won't need to sustain 3 times air pressure diff between the cabin and outside. Nor does a rolls royce car have 200 pax with only 8 doors. Stop diminishing the work of engineers when you haven't considered most of any factors engineers do when designing an aircraft with >100,000 parts to certify.
