Any area with great population density is going to be in need of ventilators and other supplies. It's common sense!

Absolutely! Cuomo is a real leader -- dedicated to his state, and will pull out all the stops for it.
He's raiding supplies from rural communities and redistributing them to the city. It's about who they're servicing, not their business model. When asked what happens when there's a conflict between NYC and the locality he said he would pay them for it. My grandmother isn't going to be able to breath with his money.

And he says that the hospitals are "worried that they won't get them back" - how about being worried about not having them when they are needed for our communities. Upstate NYers always knew where we stood with him.
Writing from India - I've always watched Hollywood movies and grown watching scenes from new York square. Always dreamt of visiting this place with family one day. Hope that one day comes soon. I know you people out there are strong and will defeat this time. Take care.

Why isnt our president robbing smaller hospitals of their life saving equipment? Small rural hospitals with limited resources. Oh I dont know maybe because that's the one ventilator that town has for its 12,000 people and that's pretty irresponsible. Centralized response could have saved lives, and made the response much more effective. That is how the Chinese government was able to so successfully handle the pandemic. What about the stockpile of ventilators NY governor has and who is going to operate these ventilators, each hospital has only a certain amount of professional medical ICU nurses and medical staff that are capable, I know this as a nurse that worked in ICU
What happens when the virus gets to the hospitals he took the equipment from. Same old story who cares about upstate or western ny. The reason there aren’t more reported cases from western ny is there are no test being done here.
All hospitals should have their own ventilators for their own emergencies and citizens in their own home town. Is New York going to take the responsibility for people who will die in these hospitals when they don’t have their respirators and New York still has a stockpile of respirators. This is according to the news and our government

@@picasso114 I understand where you're coming from. Keep in mind though that there are in fact ventilators not being currently used and those need flexed where necessary. These assets need put to work and used. I know they are there in case of emergency but I trust in upstate hospitals to comply with the demand and offer up what they can actually afford to lose. Sadly there is no way NYC can acquire enough ventilators for what is coming without federal intervention...
If it turns out that they send in soldiers to forcibly take property that isn't offered up by the respective hospitals by force with Gestapo tactics I'll take back what I said but tbh I dont think that's likely. I assume hospitals up state would be willing to offer the help

And now it's the future, and the stockpile is running low. He also said that even with the stockpile, New York State didn't have enough, but I guess you stopped listening before that part
I'm all for helping but you can't take supplies from an area that will need them in a week or two to help out another area. Especially upstate where alot of hospitals struggle without this going on. Doesn't matter if it's a rural area or some of the poorer ones in our bigger cities. If there's supplies that won't get used or can be replaced before those hospitals need them send them and send them now. I wouldn't want to be in the governors shoes right now. But he needs to make sure the hole state is protected not just one small area.
So what do you do when you redistribute the ventilator and someone needs it from where it came from?

This is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard of in my life. Sooooo a small town in NY state that has one hospital has to give up all their equipment? So what happens when there is a car accident or grandmas lung condition acts up again or there is a premature baby born or that town has an explosion of covid-19 cases. Are they just gonna ship everyone to the already over populated hospitals or let people die? Good thing this is happening in NY because anywhere else I'd imagine there would be shootouts allover the place. "The government knows what's best for you and how to use the equipment you bought and paid for" NO!
It would have been a lot better to hear something more than the state's power to sieze ventilators. Why not also some procedure for deciding where they ought to be? How to get them where they should be? Involve the state's hospitals in these decisions!
What about the thousands of Ventilators stored in the warehouse?
here in Australia the government has made an agreement with private hospitals such that these hospitals will be used, plus their ventilators etc. in conjunction with the public hospital system. Nurses and patients will be rotated around depending on demand. This will be funded by the government via the tax payer. America is the richest country and therefore has the money to do this. You should follow.

I'm with you. Just make sure those ventilators are returned when NYC no longer absolutely need them, but the source does. Money is no use if when they need it, there aren't any available to buy. When their sh*t hits the fan, those other hospitals and patients cannot wait weeks or months for delivery of a new one, any more than NYCs hospitals snd patients can.

New ventilators are being built, there is no stockpile to dip into. And they are not taking, they are redistributing and reimbursing for the use. This is a good move.
"The ventilators are being built" is a sentence we've heard for weeks now. They needed the ventilators yesterday, there's no time.
@@AT-zr9tv They are going out as they are being made. But there is no existing stockpile to fill the need and producers were only setup to fill last year's requirements. Factories have to retool and that takes time.

The idea is to gather and redeploy, the goal is to NOT have ventilators in idle, the hope is that you won't need those ventilators, the reality is that you can't do otherwise
