You are absolutely correct in thinking that Trump was elected exactly as were previous presidents. None had to win necessarily the popular vote but they all had to win the Electoral College. Because the Electoral College is not obligated to reflect the popular vote many feel that it has long been an anachronistic institution that should be abolished. We had this discussion in my high school history class back in the 60s.

Hi Governor Cuomo - first you are the example of leadership and it is an education watching you lead.
You are correct the manufacture of the PPE is not high tech that is precisely the problem the USA has focused on getting rid of the resources to manufacture high volume low tech lo profit products, China has been the perfect location to ship production to for many reasons.
My question is this, why has it taken the USA so long to reach out to China? And Why do you persist in insisting on FDA only for masks ... I know you have 50 million coming from China directly to NY (it is news here in China) but you should be buying smarter
What do I mean ...
Surgical and hospital masks - for sure FDA this should not be compromised no matter the situation but hey do you know that getting FDA certified is not 10x more expensive in China so there are factories that could supply but they just are not prepared to pay the fee - you need to talk to the FDA and get them aligned to bring the costs down.
A key factor in getting this under control in China was the mandatory wearing of masks in public - these masks for the public do not need to be FDA certified - get the restrictions lifted and have as many of these masks as you need shipped in and onto the general population's faces. By they way the numbers in China are way down - masks are still mandatory - for goodness sake learn from the country that managed to get some form of control reasonably early.
Come on there are people here, myself included willing to help you get masks and other PPE without ripping you off for USD7 a mask (someone is robbing you man) price is nowhere near that in China some middle guy is making a packet on your suffering that is just not right ... look for guys like me that are helping and not trying to rip you off there.

Not complicared to make... sure... but then there’s regulation, certification, liabilities, patents and so forth... the medical supply industry made sure that the barrier for entry into this market is high... good job 👍 ... probably easier to lease some cargo planes and “pursuade” some chinese company to make them... 🤷‍♂️
