Too bad the plan the is based on a perfect world scenario which is far from the reality people are facing.
The idea to group people into those 5 categories of infected / possibly infected/ recovered etc. is practically unattainable. We know from various sources that about 20-25% of all infected do not display any symptoms, so there is just one way to limit the spread of infection in the population: Avoid as much contact with other people as possible. Which btw is the strategy employed by many countries.
@@polaide8036 The problem is, are enough people willing to avoid contact and follow social distancing voluntarily to make a big difference. This will vary greatly between countries and cultures but in the US, I fear many cities and states aren't getting the picture yet. I wonder if this system of voluntary quarantine and isolation is adequate enough.
This scenario is attainable, but the backlash to the Trump administration could be enormous and in the USA, with all our guns and freedom, civil unrest would be a whole new problem that I don't think our federal government is prepared to take on right now.

For shelter yes it could be a good idea, but for hospitalisation it's not the lack of buildings that's a problem, but the lack of medical staff and equipment.

My wife and I ( in China ) chose to isolate ourselves before the governments' announcement, now, three months later the number of cases in any one day is in the 30's. Quarantine works when the people and the government understand that the cost of this is not the lack of personal freedom but the cost of stopping all but the essential industries AND THE GOVERNMENT UNDERWRITING THE COST OF TESTING AND TREATMENT, with the hospitals forbidden from making profits

@James Muecke that's incorrect. He failed to act on guidance from the World Health Organization back in January. He's been dismantling the biosecurity defenses put in place to prevent these outbreaks from causing mass casualties and catastrophic economic losses.
Our healthcare infrastructure can't handle the overwhelming number of patients coming in now. The fatalities will continue to rise and we will all have to stay home for a while because of this .
The primary objective of government is to protect the health and safety of the people. All of us.

The orange one and his crew of manure spreaders cut the budget at the CDC and disbanded the global health security unit that was put in place to stop these outbreaks. Other countries have deployed mass testing, quarantine apps, and other preventive measures immediately to get it in check. You have to act immediately and direct all the resources you have available to fight it.It's highly contagious and has infected over a million people in 200 countries in just four months. He did not and that is the reason we find ourselves in the situation situation.
It requires international cooperation and sharing of accurate information across all levels government and society.

eventually you will end up with 5 types of populations. (1) the healthy ones. solution: keep them home. (2) patients in serious conditions. solution: send them to destinated covid hospitals. (3) patients in mild conditions. solution: send them to field hospitals in convention centers for isolation. absolutely no home isolation. (4) people who had close contacts with infected patients. solution: send them to quarantine hotels for 14-days. absolutely no home quarantine. (5) patients who recovered from the diease. solution: release them from hospitals and send them to quarantine hotels for 14-days. during hotel stay, at least 3 RPC tests will be given. patients will be allowed to go home at the end of 14 days quarantine ONLY when 3 consecutive negative results( which is considered cured) come back from the tests.

I'm an American living in Croatia. Leadership here in Croatia has done most of what is mentioned in the video and we are now on the declining side of the curve in regards to Corona infections. Why can't America do this? I am sorry for my friends and family there - under current conditions, Corona is going to be a long and painful ordeal.

PLEASE HELP US I live in Branson Missouri, We had a soul pass 2 DAYS AGO, he was in the hospital for something else. upon his death they did a covid test which cam out positive. The nurses were not wearing PPE because the supply is low, and they thought the guy was safe . Now we have a situation where 50+ nurses and other medical staff have been exposed. We need help getting PPE so bad do you know of anyone that can help us? We are a small tourist driven city, no one seems to care if you know of someone that can help us cox is the name of the hospital in Branson Missouri.

Great theory of plan, but we don't have that, yet. Geesh - we should at least be able to inspire and educate the citizens consistently across the US to coordinate mitigation efforts.
There are few places in Italy and Spain where there is no infections. The authorities of these places have closed up and sealed the territories very early.
In the US 8 weeks in January and February were wasted. The authorities were waiting for the virus to come in and now the situation rapidly worsens.
The borders should be closed in the first week of January. Why the president did not get such advice from experts virologists, epidemiologists, neither from MSNBC experts ???
Cost of border closing does not compare with cost of closing the economy.
