Florida, and other red states don't want people to file for unemployment. The amount they give is also too low to survive.

Why are we still expecting an administration filled with private sector executives, who still haven't/won't figure out how bureaucracies work, to effectively implement legislation?

In Switzerland we try to support struggling companies in order they don‘t have to layoff their employees. Companies can file for „Reduced-Worktime“ for a certain amount of time. the employees salary will then be taken over by the federal unenployment insurance. Goal is to prevent any layoffs. Employee will receive though not full salary but still approx. 80% and will slso work less than 100%. This seems for me the better solution than the hire / fire concept in the USA.

To me the unemployment rate is over 10% easily considering the amount of people that are looking for work right now to pay the bills.

I just think it is ironic that all this is happening in the MAGA era. I can't get pass the irony.

Its almost like all current debt collection needed to be frozen or forgiven and the large commercial banks on Wall Street needed to be Nationalized. That's what Shelia Blair wanted to do with Citi in 2009.
I mean, they are already bouyoed by the fed. Meanwhile, the poor shmucks who cant pay back their mortgage or rent loose their home or business. Then a private equity firm or bank buys it at a steep discount and when the value of those assets increase in value, that's instant wealth for them.
The bill that just passed gives 425 billion to the Fed who then borrows it at a rate of 10 to 1. That means the Fed will lend out 4.25 trillion to any large entity who needs it.
That was a horrible bill and shame on you MSNBC for not explaining it.

The day will come when there will be an enormous surge in re-employment. How soon depends on leadership. There should be antibody testing like crazy - would improve things IMMEDIATELY! I was very sick with COVID symptoms in early Feb - blew it off as severe flu. Who knows? I would happy take a blood test but what if it wasn't COVID? Then I risk getting it by testing. I also don't want some lab sending me a bill for $1000 right now either. This is the 21st century for chrissakes - we have the technology but not leadership at the top to get 'er done!

I would guesstimate that the actual workforce in the USA, both full and part time jobs; is about Seventy-Five Million adults. Just a interesting fact, when President Obama came into office, unemployment peaked to 11% in 2009 and when he left office in 2017, unemployment went down to 4.8%.

Instead of moving the staffs and equipments, COVID patients from neighboring states may be treated by the team. This may contain the desease further and reduces logistics.

Reenforce the hotspot state, enable these hotspots to support neighboring areas.

A tariff is paid by the importer, added to the price a distributor pays, included in the price a retailer pays, and in the end, paid by the consumer. He had Articles of Impeachment filed by a Democratic House of Representatives filed with a Republican, "on their knees, bowing down and kissing the feet of their Master and King Donald Trump" Senate. He jerked this country around for over 2 months over this latest saga, the economy is crashing, unemployment is skyrocketing and he STILL refuses to take responsibility.
