I know I’m not a health expert or anything, but this guy is patently INSANE. Statements like this are why people don’t trust our “health experts”. What he is talking about is just not an option. Plain and simple. The economy CANNOT be shutdown for a year. He is obviously not taking this too seriously.
At about 12 months most people will be saying things like 'Well, a Million people is actually only a very small percentage of our population', and sadly, they will be correct. This is not the first epidemic, this is so far not even the worst epidemic, the losses were accepted previously, as are 'acceptable losses' during a time of war.

I'm not poor either and live on my yacht in a tropical paradise, fishing and sailing. But we are all a heartbeat away from a new life or death.

As to an real-world example of what one gets for one tax dollar in both these countries consider... I sailed to my current location from Surfers Paradise in Queensland Australia and en route notice a suspicious lump on my back. I anchored and went to a medical centre near the anchorage. I was examined and found to have hypertension. Then a biopsy was taken and sent to the lab for identification... it was a carcinoma and had to be exercised... then after the first one was removed it was sent to the lab to be sure all cancerous cells had been removed... then the doctor commented on 2 spots on my forehead which looked suspicious... so both had a core biopsy done and they were sent to the lab and the results were similar to the one on my back so another decision appointment was made and the two growths were removed and sent to the lab as before... meanwhile we were testing hypertension meds to fit my condition ... so first appointment was $75 and $35 was refunded by government medicare... the second appointment free... first meds for hypertension $12... 3rd. appointment free.... lab test free... 4th. appointment free and labs free... second meds $15... 5th appointment free and labs free... final meds $15 a month ... 6th appointment and labs free. All skin cancers removed and confirmed by lab tests hypertension meds sorted and total cost other than prescriptions under $50. So yea " technically nothing is free. ". I have and have had medical insurance. And never will. I have similar stories about NZ but you should get the point. What would that have cost a poor American?

It's almost 9 months since quarantine began and it's still going strong. God told me back in March that quarantine will last 12 to 18 months.
I've just been riding it out. Chatting on IRC and Discord and stuff. I can't work sadly due to the pandemic so I basically just sit home all day. My dad said back in March that we don't have a choice but not to do much for 12 to 18 months.

I am immune. Because I have already had it. I had mild symptoms and tested negative now. I am everywhere fear free, I feel like a superman.

Yep. 18 months is about what I expect for tru remediation. I do expect another wave in October/November. Read history . Look at all older and newer plagues. The most important thing I can think of is "mail in ballots." As a resident of Newark, NJ, I applied for absentee ballot in 2018. Once I applied and filed my first ballot, I was assured of getting one for every future election. The rest of you guys need to catch up...unless...you don't really want people to vote
The "another wave" idea is nice, but seems unlikely. This specific virus has shown no difficulty in spreading in different climates and different regions. The idea that it will be like the influenza virus has no basis other than hope. The only two prior deadly coronaviruses to hit humans hard, SARSCoV and MERS, had no difficulty and no fewer transmissions in warmer weather. None whatsoever. And there is no reason to believe this coronavirus SARSCoV-2 will be any different.
Florida also has vote-by-mail, but you have to notify your local Supervisor of Elections prior to each vote. You can accomplish the notification online.

That’s how long it takes to test vaccines and treatments. Imagine the work it’s going to take to vaccinate everyone in every country... The logistics as breathtaking.
18 months and recurring lockdowns/releases will give us herd immunity. I wouldn't hold my breath for a vaccine. They've tried with coronaviruses before and failed. So I honestly would not expect one that quickly. And the real death numbers are going to be well over 100,000. Maybe someone will be honest about that soon. Study epidemiology--it's math, really, more than biology--and you'll see the truth.
