    How about disbarring Thomas for his corruption?

      @Tolemac7 29 일 전 +32

      Any lawyer can be disbarred for cause. However, there is no requirement that Supreme Court Justices be members of a bar or even be lawyers for that matter. A Justice can only be removed by impeachment, resignation, or death.

      @@1122redbirdLifetime appointments make perfect sense. They're intended to insulate the justice from external pressures from politicians or mobs. You don't want justices who can be fired because they rule against Congress, or who rule a particular way to gain support for a reelection campaign. Lifetime appointments mean that justices can, theoretically, rule purely on the law. The problem isn't the lifetime appointments, the problem is the blatant corruption of nearly half the court and the refusal of one party to hold "their" justices accountable for said corruption.

      It's my refrigerator that strikes fear in my heart. Actually NEST thermostats have a microphone that is not on the schematic. It's a problem.

      The thermostat thing does have a basis. Gadgets that connect through the internet such as smart central heating systems often have poor security which means that they can be hacked and used as a back door to getting into a building's internet.
      The fact is that voting machines were not connected to the internet specifically so that they could be hacked.
      Unfortunately a lot of Trump lawyers and other followers have no understanding of technology and don't understand that you need an actual connection, even if only by wifi, to hack something. The thermostat thing is no-where near as bonkers as Sydney Powell's claim of "Italian satellites" hacking the voting machines. But neither is possible without some form of connection and the voting machines were specifically set-up to be unhackable.

    Only lawyers can pull off a violent stunt that claims 8 lives and injures 130 others, imprisons hundreds, and get off without a criminal charge of their own. The most they get is the loss of a professional license? And that's accountability?
    People pay far, far more in this country for far, far less. Say a kid who causes an accident driving drunk that claims a life. How long do you suspect that kid will sit in prison? How about a parent whose kid snuck into the liquor cabinet and did the same? They lose far more than a professional license, and they're far younger and far less experienced in law and life. It all seems so upside down.
    You'd think these people would be held to a higher standard and punished accordingly. It's shocking to think of how many lives have been changed negatively as a result of these people and their intense campaign to steal the election for Trump in 2020. Lives are still being changed negatively for what they did. The lesson is this, if you're going to choose a career, become a lawyer. You'll survive anything and always have work. Everybody knows these people don't need law licenses after government. They can work as consultants. Big deal, he's getting disbarred. How about spending some time behind bars? Treat him like he wants to treat a kid with a baggie of green stuff. Seriously. Their crimes hurt so many more people than that kid with a baggie of weed, but their biggest punishment is the loss of a law license?
    Lawyers like this are responsible for turning democracy into a joke, they're actively trying to make it fail and that's the worst policing they get in their self-policing community. These men wanted to unleash violence against their political opponents and all of their followers, called for violence, are still calling for violence, and the loss of a law license is called justice. LOL lolololol
