i got into them in the summer of 2019, a few months before their reunion was announced, so that was lucky timing. i had heard about them before, but thought they were an 80's band for some reason. when i finally listen to their songs, i recognized Famous Last Words, Teenagers, Na Na Na, and WTTBP and now i kick myself for not being a fan earlier, but i was 10 when they broke up so i cant really blame myself
This has a really self destructive tone to it especially the lyrics "give me a shot to remember and take all the pain away from me" I couldn't relate to something more in my life it's fucking deep and I remember stumbling across the shit gerard went through before he started the band and while I know this is about "the patient" coping through alcohol in a destructive way I also think this could be a double meaning as in this could also be about geards experiences with addiction and self loathing feelings

This is making my 2020 bearable
This was the song that got me my earbuds confiscated till the end of the day, and made me so angry that I flipped someone off for laughing at me, which resulted in me earning my 2nd detention back on February 4th, 2020, and I had to serve my detention the next day on February 5th, 2020, though luckily, I only had to serve 1 day of it. Also, detention isn't that bad in case you've never gotten a detention before, and because it wasn't homework related (unlike my 1st and 3rd detentions), I got to draw in detention.
So proud i got to see the day when these guys first came on live.. Ahh.. Great days..
