There was a couple times this game I thought Boston might run away with it. The Heat are different. They have a mental toughness that's rare in this modern era of basketball. I saw the Suns pretty much give up after getting down to the Nuggets. The Heat could have easily packed it in and been happy to go home with a 1-1 tie.
With that said, I need Bam to step it up. I love the aggression he came out with but he missed a lot of shots near the basket. If he starts to make those consistently, the Celtics are going to have a hard time.
No the Celtics are already having a hard time. If bam plays better they're done. I mean they might be anyway. But for sure if bam ups it and everyone else stays good
It's tough when Bam needs to play Horford and Williams alone. Big Man Zeller needs to step up more. So it's Bam has played like a monster, but he needs help

As a Celtics fan, I was worried going into this series because I saw what the Heat could do and I knew they weren't to be ignored. I've just been blown away by HOW good they were. It's going to be really hard for us to dig ourselves out of it, we're a good road team so I think we'll take Game 3 in Miami and from there it'll be a competitive series, but it's really going to be hard. Miami is a solid team and they deserve to make it to the NBA Finals if they can finish us off. A lot of respect to them coming from where they did, the Play-in and even losing to Atlanta when everyone wrote them off, and getting this lead in the Conference Finals. Let's see where it goes from here.
Boston is good enough to win both in Miami. But now the task is to beat Miami 4/5......and that's tough. Butler gets all the press, but Martin won that game tonight
As a heat fan I think Ime would have had far better results for the celts. I think itโs an extremely unfair coaching matchup. Was waiting for that rematch and will never get it
โ@@DrVonJayexactly. Mazullo's coaching inexperience is showing. The heat are playing in a system that's getting most of their shooters going. But Boston is still so heavily reliant on Tatum and Brown. And it doesn't seem like Mazulla runs any plays to make life easier for the 2(not that I've seen)
I said yesterday if Miami wins game 2 this series is a wrap
Celtics won't win a single game. Ya'll going out in 4. Couldn't even win a single home game. What makes you think Miami would throw away their home games? They're not sloppy chokers like Tatum ๐
This is the kind of basketball I enjoy watching - go Heat, go Nuggets!!!!! This is the championship series I want to watch. Jimmy was outstanding!
Denver is the real powerhouse. If Miami can be close against them, all time legends. Letโs hope both teams stay healthy, sweep their matchup, and rest up.
They'll be fine, thanks though.
Part of the playoffs is just getting more rest. The Heat have played a lot fewer games than the Celtics and had a couple more days rest after their last series than the Celtics had. Just being the fresher team is usually good for one win in a series. The Heat have a real chance to sweep going home up 2-0, while I do not think the Nuggets win both games at LA. That said, Nuggets have a great starting five who are all in their prime and Jokic and Murray are the real deal guys who can just decide they want the Nuggets to win now. Heat will not beat the Nuggets on the boards either, so baring the Heat shooting over 50% from three like they did game one against the Celtics, gonna be very hard to beat the Nuggets.
Look at Denvers depth, Brown, Gordon, Porter, Murray that team is tough match for either Celts or Heat.
@@jstick9980 and yet Miami posts legitimate depth in their own regard. It's time we stopped looking at their draft positions and start looking at them for their skills. Caleb Martin came off the bench and outplayed jaylen brown tonight. Max Strus and Gabe Vincent are more players who are huge on both ends of the floor for Miami. Even Duncan Robinson came back to get minutes and give you efficient scoring off the bench every now and then. kyle Lowry and Kevin love are former champions. And above all else, if the bucks couldn't contain butler, something tells me that once Gordon is off butler, he'll feast. If butler and jokic can cancel each other out, Miami needs to neutralize Jamal Murray. TLDR: So basically, Miami has maybe a...3% chance of winning? Oh wait...
Bam is probably the one player that can disrupt joker
Getting to watch jimmy b potentially getting to finals as a play in team makes me feel good cause Iโve always wanted this underdog story. Iโm glad I get to watch it not hear about it

And I think the only thing we doubt about Jimmy is his stamina. His previous 2 great playoff runs was ended more because his gassed out. Let's hope it won't happen this time, because Heat now has a lot of those 2nd stringers who can step up at the right time.

โ@@TeguhNugrahaPratamaJimmy was injured in the bubble and last year. He wasn't "gassed".

No one ever gives the Heat credit they always say what the other team did wrong versus what the Heat did right
Kenny Smith made the most salient point here. Notwithstanding that Brown has been awful, and Mazzulla is clearly over his head, Boston's auxiliary players are getting outplayed by Miami's. There is no way anyone thought Vincent, Martin, Strus, and Robinson would punk Horford, Smart, Brogdon, and White.
You add the spectacular play of Jimmy, and his clutch hoops all playoffs long, and this Heat team is much better than they appear on paper. Butler and Spo's leadership is also vastly superior to Tatum and Mazzulla. Now that doesn't mean this series is over but Boston has no chance if Brown doesn't show up and Smart and Horford are useless in their offense. They can't iso ball with Tatum and win 4 times, not happening.
Err maybe you need to credit Heat defense strategy? They neutralize Brown for 2 games, the more consistent player than Tatum. Then, smart, horford, brogdon, white follow soon, because they're mostly role players, can't take over games when needed

But the grit displayed coming back down 16 midway through the 4th, giannis Middleton and Lopez torching all night, and sneaking away an improbable win. That's when I started believing. Not even a heat fan
Cap
If the Heat beat the Nuggets in the Finals, the #8 seed will have beaten both #1 seeds.
That will be sweet.
That will be historic
Itโs just hard not to root for this Miami team
They just do everything the right way
Jimmy is amazing but in this day and age of super teams and big 3s itโs just so refreshing to see
Heart passion the right mindset and guys that can just hoop with a real fire
What super teams are in the nba ? Every competitive team has two stars thatโs it lol we ainโt in 2017 no more

Look up the term day and age pal
As a heat fan, I need us to act like we down 0-2 heading back to Miami. We gotta apply the pressure that we know the Celtics canโt handle. Game 3 is a must win to not drag this series along. Iโve said it before if we go up 3-0 itโs a sweep or game 5. But if we lose game 3 itโs going to be game 6 or 7 series. We gotta deflate any hopes in game 3 for them. Come on spo and jimmy bring it home at home!!! But itโs also the supporting cast they play like they have been and I have no fear in this series.
This๐๐พ
I do think this Celtics team is weak mentally. They're gonna try their best to win game 3 and if the heat deny then my guess is they fold up like a cheap lawn chair. But if they win? They may regain some courage and confidence. And become tougher to beat.
Yep!
Got to put the dagger in tonight!!!
As a Sixers fan, I'm rooting for Miami.
But also as a Sixers fan...
I miss Jimmy Butler๐
U have james harden and the mvp๐
u guys couldve had embiid and butler, but sixers chose tobias harris over butler. just insane
If Sixers had fired Doc and kept Butler you could have two banners by now easy.
"Tobias Harris over ME?"
then a potential butler - embiid - maxey trio (if they still managed to draft maxey).
The legend of Jimmy Butler. I can't wait for the ESPN 30 for 30 special.
Nah the only 30 for 30 I need is for that Nets team that went downhill
@@shad2074 nah
the energy at the heat stadium gon be crazy for game 3, ik fans want that 3-0
Itโs all about playing good basketball at the right time. And Miami is on ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅโฆ
Hoping for a heat and nuggets final.. would love to see something different
I concur. That will be fun

He got a tech on Jimmy, halfway to an ejection.
He is also trying to wear Jimmy down with the uncalled chest bumps - he drove Giannis crazy with those.
If these are not called in Miami, refs need to be traded to NFL, and learn what PI looks like on a receiver.
The real thing is that none of these so called stars or superstars of the Celtics aren't willing to do the dirty work in whatever it takes to win.
They all wanna be stars and play like stars.
They got to put a bench wormer to try guard the best player on the other team.
And that's why Playoff Jimmy is punking and snatching hearts over there.
Issa Clean Sweep๐คงโผ๏ธ
Bam Adebayo deserves more recognition than he's getting. Playoff Jimmy is the storyline, but Bam really seems to have found his footing this year, and he's been awesome in this series.
Wouldn't it be amazing if finals is Denver (who hasn't lost at home) vs Miami (who kept winning on the road)?
As a bucks fan Iโm very relieved ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
experience the HIMMY Butler
@@xyzxyz3917 heโs a Marquette dawg. No surprise here. Wisco dawgs run the world of sports
Totally caught Bucks by surprise
Yeah, they may have fired their coach too fast.
