Fred Vanvleet should have been an all star in the east even this year even with Lowry and Pascal already there. He showed he can carry the PG position by himself for a major chip contender when Lowry was out 12 games early in the season. Remember that hardest part of the season schedule and those west coast long road trips while Lowry and Ibaka where out at the same time? Vanvleet/Siakam pick and roll time instead of Lowry/Ibaka. Such a key winning high IQ young player with killer gonads for the big moments 🔥 que the FVV roar.

I am a jimmy butler fan so i want the heat to win. But I knew the raptors were legit early on in the season (when they had so many players out and were still winning big, which was insane). Despite all those injuries, they are still the number 2 seed in the east. They are gonna be scarier now with all that rest. I don't think any team does better with lack of rest and especially not the heat. Heat's back to back game record is horrible and the most rest they will get is 1 day off for the remaining games. I want the heat to face bucks in second round rather than raptors / celtics because i think heat are better suited against bucks. As for the first round, sixers are definitely the easier opponent due to their lack of chemistry and seemingly flawed star players (simmons, harris).
Lowry was not good this game. FVV carried. It was impressive pulling and spacing on such a long wing defender like Iggy off beyond the 3 pt line and splashing on his face. Vanvleet would have been an easy allstar PG in the east leading a top team in the conference with 18 ppg and elite 3 pt shooting at like 40% at high volume of over 8 attempts per game if it wasn’t for being on the same as Lowry (all star) and Pascal (all star starter) both being in the all star game. Dude is an incredible floor spacer too and can step into deeep shots. But what people don’t know other than the few games they watched in the finals is that he isn’t as good on ball perimeter defensively as he is offensively high IQ PG. But people just remember his big backbreaking 3 shots after 3 shots vs Bucks and GSW. He is one of the best on ball perimeter defenders in the NBA. That is why they put him on Steph moving and running all over the court behind screens to get off his shots when it became too draining for Kawhi or Lowry to chase after him, get around screens and still stay in front of him. You need defensively super active perimeter guards like Vanvleet to do that kind of job. Offensively, you seen how he was dribbling through and breaking down double teams on him to get the ball creating for open teammates. That is elite PG skills. This is why Toronto is tough to beat with these 2 headed ball handling and playmaking floor spacing point guards that are a threat from all over the court. That is why Raptors don’t mind teams clogging up the paint setting a minni wall to prevent Siakam from wrecking havoc inside. A kick out to these guys or to the wings to Ananoby who is also over 40% or to Powell from 3 is pick your poison hence their 49-18 record. Everyone on the court can defend too, no soft defensive spots just because you need their offence in the lineup. That is why they are the #1 rated defensive team in the NBA in about every deep category that identifies defensive versatility ie #1 ISO NBA defense, #1 in pick and roll NBA defense, #1 in 3pt% against NBA defense, #1 in perimeter outside of the paint FG% defense, #2 in rim and paint scoring defense behind only Milwaukee....

Vanvleet would have been an easy allstar PG in the east leading a top team in the conference with 18 ppg and elite 3 pt shooting at like 40% at high volume of over 8 attempts per game if it wasn’t for being on the same as Lowry (all star) and Pascal (all star starter) both being in the all star game. Dude is an incredible floor spacer too and can step into deeep shots. But what people don’t know other than the few games they watched in the finals is that he isn’t as good on ball perimeter defensively as he is offensively high IQ PG. But people just remember his big backbreaking 3 shots after 3 shots vs Bucks and GSW. He is one of the best on ball perimeter defenders in the NBA. That is why they put him on Steph moving and running all over the court behind screens to get off his shots when it became too draining for Kawhi or Lowry to chase after him, get around screens and still stay in front of him. You need defensively super active perimeter guards like Vanvleet to do that kind of job. Offensively, you seen how he was dribbling through and breaking down double teams on him to get the ball creating for open teammates. That is elite PG skills. This is why Toronto is tough to beat with these 2 headed ball handling and playmaking floor spacing point guards that are a threat from all over the court. That is why Raptors don’t mind teams clogging up the paint setting a minni wall to prevent Siakam from wrecking havoc inside. A kick out to these guys or to the wings to Ananoby who is also over 40% or to Powell from 3 is pick your poison hence their 49-18 record. Everyone on the court can defend too, no soft defensive spots just because you need their offence in the lineup. That is why they are the #1 rated defensive team in the NBA in about every deep category that identifies defensive versatility ie #1 ISO NBA defense, #1 in pick and roll NBA defense, #1 in 3pt% against NBA defense, #1 in perimeter outside of the paint FG% defense, #2 in rim and paint scoring defense behind only Milwaukee....
