He represents the 4th Ohio Congressional district. If you look it up on the map that district represents gerrymandering at it's best. It's a contorted mess designed to create a Republican district at all costs by carefully avoiding any and all population centers, (even very small ones) running from the shores of lake Erie just West of Cleveland, to South of Columbus and West almost to the Indiana border. A select group of counties that perennially and primarily vote Republican. It's an abomination from an electoral districting POV that is well-matched by an equally abominable Representative.
BTW, Republicans were in complete control of the Ohio legislature in 2011 and were the designers of the redistricting map that has allowed an entity such as Jordan to be elected. That districting was successfully contested at the federal level in 2019-2020. The rules have been changed. Mr. Jordan's days are now numbered in the House.
In Ohio, historically speaking, the Republican party holds about a 55/45 advantage in elections. However it was pointed out to federal officials that the congressional seats were dominated after 2011 and having the map redrawn by a Republican legislature, by a 75/25 margin. It's not surprising that the map was considered to be at odds with federal law.

Non-American here, but as someone who has followed American politics daily for years I agree as well. It would be far safer, cheaper, free up a lot of manpower that can be used elsewhere and they won’t allow crowds anyway due to Covid-19. There’s a time for symbolism, but that time isn’t now.
