Daniel Napier The song is a mostly distraction from the chaos going on in the video. It’s there to push the idea that America tends to forget or ignore what’s happening right in front of them. It also mocks modern rap subjects and how black people are expected to entertain others and behave as clones of Lil Pump and Cardi B. “We just wanna party, party just for you”. The lyrics do have meaning if you take the time to look at them, brushing them off as stupid completely ignores the hidden meanings and further pushes the point that America commonly ignores the problems directly in front of it.

I noticed it first view some 8 days ago. I'm familiar with the Revelation and how Western esotericism is carrying out the biblical prophecy as a means to an end of US dollar as the world reserve currency ushering in the age of a full world government though it involves a WW3 first which is just so horrible. It's all about pushing the globalist agenda to concentrate power to one oligarchy via money control, media control, staged divisive cultural influences like Hegelian dialect, and wars for profit.

These comments are a perfect example of the hidden messages in the video. Commenters seemed more concerned about the proper description of the weapons then any other messages, including death on the pail white horse. He is also enforcing the fact that all these new dances are distraction of what is actually going on. This video is meant to be seen by those with eyes wide open and shut.

The point of the song was to have people argue about the meaning of the song. That’s what America is! Everyone argues over everything! That was the true point of the song! it was about a conversation. And obviously, that worked.

Thank you for the review. This music video is a real piece of art. I liked it but as far as it referencing "red America's valuing guns over people's lives." I reject that. Maybe I can express an alternate view and have this to say: For society to work it has to have a central ideal, a unifying tenant, not for all things but on some meaningful level. For country as diverse as this one, with religious tolerance and freedom for all, that thing is in my opinion the Bill of Rights. Not to exclude the importance of love. Brotherly love is everything but the symbolic ideal that guides us a governed entity is Freedom and the Bill of Rights. Not everyone is buying into that. I believe that today, unlike in decades not so distantly past, that this country is trying earnestly to "live out the true meaning of its creed." To that end the Bill of Rights is there for you; to keep you safe. It values life. We're all a part of that. It's there for us and I will always be steadfast in refusing to abandon it. There are places in this world today without that ideal. They're not good places. In our own history look to slavery and Jim Crow laws. Blacks in this country especially had to fight hard to be included in it. No, it wasn't written with Blacks in mind but that all people now find themselves under it's umbrella is something to be thankful for, not bitter about. You can see other examples in history, countless examples. 10's of millions died in the Gulags of Communist Russia as a direct result of the identity politics now being played in America. Identity politics say that your identity in the group is more important than your identity as an individual, here the group is based around race or Gender. In Nazi Germany it Jews and 6 million of them got killed by Hitler. That same murderous ideology is being begged for today by the same people who seek to vilify our individual freedoms guaranteed under the Bill of Rights. These are real examples of what has already happened. Today, I was listening on NPR to a Civil Rights Activist by the name of Charles E. Cobb Jr, 74 years old at the moment, who I think would agree with what I'm saying. The Americans that enjoy the freedoms of today do so because of the sacrifice of those that came before them, who fought for them, in the revolution, in the wars and most recently in the name of civil rights. Gun ownership too is a civil right. Rights are duty. What this video points out so well is that we need to have our eyes open, objectively, to the world around us, like the background video. We all have to take ownership in our house first, then our street, then our block, then our state, to maintain for each other what those that came before us earned through sacrifice. Rights aren't the problem. They're a responsibility that allows us to function together, with love, and to exercise free speech in discussion of art like this. It has to be maintained with the best possible understanding and free from the games of identity politics and hateful rhetoric so popular in the media today. The problems caused by those is what I see in the background of this video. You can say that the point is right wingers valuing guns over life but I have to respectfully disagree.

This video to me recalls a certain joke Dave Chappelle said once in his stand up where he visits some kids in an inner city school and he told them or imagines telling them the abrupt truth.."You better know how to handle a ball, sell crack or get to dancin and start entertaining these white folks cause that's the only way I see you're getting out of here...you better get to steppin."
I sort of see parallels with that joke and the scenario posed in this video...as soon as Glover stops dancing, they're (establishment, whoever) after him. He committed some heinous acts but everyone ignored it and went on as nothing happened. As long as he was entertaining and bringing in money doing so, he was ok but the minute he stopped dancing, his past came back to haunt him. Does that remind you of someone...Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein (why didn't they stop him in his heyday during the 90's when Miramax was on top) Michael Jackson (dancing on top of the car outside the courthouse desperately reminding White America that he's still a great entertainer when they were trying to incarcerate him)?
Everything revolves around money and how useful you are to the establishment that condones you.

I really think y'all need to do a deeper review.
For instance, the various messages in one shot--- for instance look at the second to final scene when he's dancing on a car and notice how his is also a throw back to Michael Jackson in that iconic scene in the 90's about the black struggle.
Also, notice, he's more asking a question than stating obvious facts. Think about it-- as intended-- it starts with an old black tone- given light then you see a literal assignation. Which is not a coincidence. So we got and example of old time blackisms then hope only to have it killed off initially-- then he proceeded to distract us, as media does, but it doesn't stop- because the violence continues. He's basically asking- 'how much do we have to pay before we're truly free" by the end of the video. Powerful stuff. He also grew up JW, much like myself, but I won't get into that landscape here. His message is a thoughtful one. Why is the white counterpart always agreeable, while his black compatriots -if taken the same recourse- vilified so easily-- AND why, in media, does the darker man have to be more primal/aggressive/ counter culture in order to succeed than their white brethren?! And why does mass media love to sell vile real representations of their darker skinned brethren than their white brothers?

I don't really believe its about police brutality but my theory is that the person we are seeing is actually a white southern american. I think this because the man we see is dancing in a similar fashion to how people would when preforming the song "jump jim crow" . the person who made the song Thomas D. rice would dress up as a black stereotype by artificially darkening his skin and making his lips look bigger. although Thomas tried to make his depiction of black people realistic his song is more based on his assumptions around black people than who black people really were. This makes the song more likely to be preformed by a white person than a black person. Second the person is wearing pants that were used by
confederate solders in the civil war, although Black people did fight and work for t he confederacy but not many of them were solders and I doubt the slaves were given as good clothes as the confederates were. third If the shooting in the video is meant to represent the Charleston church shooting (It may not be because there are more men than women in the choir) It wouldn't make sense for it to be a black person doing the shooting. Black people do commit more crime than white people and most of there victims are black, but the Charleston church shooting was racially motivated (the guy hated black people) so it could be that the person we see is actually a white person, also church arson and bombings were common hate crimes back in the day. this makes sense if you look at the shooters background. Dylan roof had posed with a confederate flag and a handgun (like what gambino had at the beginning of the song). these racist actions would not make sense for a black person to do (dancing like jim crow, wearing confederate outfits, shooting black people in a church in a similar fashion to the Charleston church shooting) but would make sense if the main character was white. I know Childish Gambino isnt a white person when I say hes white i mean in the context of the song itself. So thats what I think sorry for the grammer errors.

Everyone says ' genius, just genius' but I disagree. He is a master at his craft and this is his opus, his musical swan song. Since he announced he is leaving the moniker and we are told he is leaving the medium of music altogether? And why, his answer is in the video. Which is purely art, symbolic, purposeful in message, yes entertaining but it seems the medium has failed (what once was protest is now just mass commercial opiod?) and perhaps the fans fail to get the message. The video ends as a fighting pit, and lastly a house of horrors, even perhaps a civil rights museum as he might depict it.
Great price of art, I hope it ends up in a museum of sorts. Sadly or not it isn't even trending KRplus top 50; just 1 week later.

It's quite very ominous and gets my attention. What genre of music does this fall under? They're pushing the message of hate, division, racism, and social injustices only to lead us to civil war and downfall with fomenting this, 'black man, get your money,' ideology. This isn't to say there isn't hate, division, racism, and social injustice for American capitalism has done a terrific job at cementing all these most terrible qualities that now clearly defines what America supports and stands behind unlike how years ago it was assumed we stood only for equality, democracy, liberty, social justice, and human rights protections for all of humanity to unite in a global scale democracy that was supposed to have mutually come about in 21st century now. The white horse symbolizes war. Good thing it's not yet the red horse meaning civil war or the pale blue horse meaning the end of America or the world and humanity though I'm sure that's coming in 2020 or not long there after. The establishment behind our media, music, politics, and economics is always pushing now to carry out the biblical prophecy of the Revelation.

There is so much meaning behind this, it's an accurate representation of real life and it does not condone violence in any way, its clearly against it. Stop being so myopic.

I've had this pushed in my face on every website for nearly a week and have ignored it until now because I assumed anything the media was actively trying to get me to watch would be some racist sjw nonsense.
Turns out I was right, and I'd like the couple minutes of my time back. I do find it hilarious, however, seeing all the mouth-breathers you'd normally find in the youtube comments suddenly becoming amazing at examining the deeper meaning of the music video. Wait they're just mindlessly repeating what the tv tells them.

Listen, I of course agree that this was meant to be satirical, but to act as if the entire video is about gun violence is just wrong. It literally says "Black man get your money". This amounts to much more than just gun violence, but violence against black people and the brutality that they face.

Donald Glover is using the coincidence of his first name matching Trump's as a meta-criticism. Pay attention at 0:51, where @Luvvie correctly points out that you should ignore Donald and focus on the background. In the same way, it's a commentary about how people should stop focusing on Donald Trump's antics and pay attention to the world around them. We are focusing on the wrong things. The violence of racism, sexism, and poverty is caused by capitalism, and that's what we need to focus on.

God’s purpose and plan was for Lucifer to use his music to praise and magnify the Holy Name of the
LORD. However, since Lucifer rebelled and apostatized from God, he has used his music to steal the
hearts of mankind away from God and to turn their hearts after himself and his way.
God intended for foot-realm music be used to praise His Name in the dance. “Let them praise his name
in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp” (Psalm 149:3).
God purposed that heart-realm music be used to express melodious gratitude and thanksgiving to God
the Father in the Name of the LORD Jesus Christ for everything that occurs in our lives as we
acknowledge that all things are part of His Master Plan.
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name
of our Lord Jesus Christ; (Ephesians 5:19,20).
God designed head-realm music to cause His Name and His mercy to be known among His creation.
Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. I will praise thee, O LORD, among the
people: and I will sing praise unto thee among the nations. For thy mercy is great above the
heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds (Psalm 108:2-4).
Therefore, since music plays such an important part in our worship of the LORD, it behooves us to
become knowledgeable about God’s will in what the true use of music is in worship. Being fully
acquainted with the truth God’s Word teaches us about the three realms of music is a satisfying joy.
Lucifer was like a jewel that had been
chiseled out and cut so that his pipes were fashioned and formed inside. At first his jeweled pipes in his
heart and head made melodious music of praise and thanksgiving unto God. This is why fallen Lucifer,
now known as Satan, Devil, Serpent, and Dragon, can produce such fine music in our world today.
Lucifer stole God’s fine gifts, talents, and workmanship and utilized them for his own exaltation in
order to lead the hearts of mankind astray from God’s purpose and plan in music. Therefore, in spite of
the lovely, pleasing, agreeable sounds of worldly music, let us remember that it is corrupted music. It
does not awaken the emotions and feelings of the heart to praise and worship of God. Instead, the effects
of it lead the heart astray from God and bring the soul into the bondage of Lucifer’s power and authority. It
awakens and stirs the lusts of the flesh. Many homes have been broken because of relationships that have
    begun at dances.
Music has awakening and drawing power, and Satan knows how to utilize this power to fill the
capacity of man’s heart with worldly delight and satisfaction, which draws men away from God.
Since music is such a powerful tool, both for God and for Lucifer, we need to understand more about
    God’s intended use for it.
    God.
From the beginning of Lucifer’s creation, he was equipped and gifted with musical abilities.
Careful study of the Scriptures reveals how God fashioned and finished three distinct realms of music
within the being of Lucifer: the foot-realm, the heart-realm, and the head-realm. God created Lucifer with
the complete capacity and ability for a ministry of full stature of music.
