- Former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang has officially announced he is running for mayor of New York City. During his speech, Yang promised a basic income for New Yorkers and reforms for transit and criminal justice.

Yuss, the most level headed Dem in the party. He’ll win easily.
When I researched candidates last year, he was able to explain his policies in detail as opposed to "We have a plan" ... that politicians would say and ramble on without explaining anything.
Most of his supporters were pretty level headed too in my opinion from what I have seen and read. Anyways, he will be inheriting a huge headache. I wish him the best.

Actually Tulsi Gabbard is. The only democrat I respected. Andrew Yang isn't bad either though considering the party he represents. He would be 10 times better for NY than what they have now.

I'm not the one who believes in election fraud conspiracies that have no merit and got laughed out of court. I didn't support a President and a part that called Covid-19 a hoax and downplayed masks. I could go on and on but if people haven't learned by now, they never will. They'll either just live in self-pity or become radicalized and attack the Capitol or whatever Trump or Q tells them to do.

Why do you even like Yang so much? I’ve researched him and I don’t see what all the enthusiasm is about. Personality wise he’s bland and uncharismatic and his policies seem kinda unproven. For example, is there any proof that Universal Basic Income will actually work and not result in people leaving their jobs like some have predicted.

Yeah his spot on Patriot Act with Hasan Minaj on Netflix really sold me on Yang. Not as a POTUS, but as a person. He really seems like an optimistic dreamer type that feels a responsibility to make the world a better place, and I think NYC would be the perfect place for him to learn all the stuff he needs to learn so that he can keep up the good fight within the stupid confines of what government is right now.

Everyone has this misconception that Yang is a billionaire or something. His net worth when I went to campaign for him during primaries was 10 million, which for a New Yorker is barely rich, but not “wealthy,” like Chris Rock used to say. He’s just the average guy who even before considering office gave to charities. I’m sure he wonders every day, “do I even know what I’m doing or talking about?” That’s what makes him a decent human being. Hopefully he doesn’t get corrupted into a political hack.
