Ok I’m going to say it, Sana looks super sexy! But she looks happy and comfortable wearing it, i see actual confidence! I wish more “true fans” support their idols and allow them to experiment with styling, even if it’s different from your personal preferences. I think ONCEs do really well at this and are very supportive of drastic style changes (example Chaeyoung, Momo) but I hope to see this spread throughout Kpop. Because idols are held to such a perfect standard despite them being just as vulnerable and simple humans as us, they have to craft their image in every way. In the end of the day they are musical artists spending many many years in the industry. Please be supportive if you have a bias! It bothers me that sometimes idols are so heavily fetishized that they are objectified, and only given value for their looks. The whole industry pushes visuals before anything else, and fans don’t help the problem. Some actually become quite toxic by oversharing their idols, telling you that their idols are a certain way, like some obsessed freaks who act like they know the idol personally. If you feel offended by this it’s not my problem, because all fans know what’s right and what’s wrong bevahior, so if it offends you maybe you feel that you relate to this a bit... I don’t care, but I don’t want any more suicides. These people are forced to live the loneliest, most high-standard life with the expectation to not only dedicate every second of the day to your appearance, skills and fans... they have no life of their own. So how exactly could you know them? How can you call yourself a fan and your idol dies? I like Kpop, have liked it for a few years, and it’s so superficial, toxic and sexist. I like Twice because their songs are happy... but remember when Jihyo was bigger and nobody liked her? Now she’s skinny, she gets praised for everything and fetishized for her chest. When are we all going to admit that we are all the same? Why don’t we realize our power and how our actions affect others? Our rude comments, our fantasies, our obsession over every single detail and mole that makes up an idols face, the constant ranking of idols and choosing who is the most liked... Kpop is not wholesome anymore, it’s just a bunch of young teens to adults manipulated by their industry and “fans” into removing every speck of raw humanity they may have, and build themselves back up to look only 1 specific way, while also being happy and grateful that they have no control of their lives, idols are just pretty pawns for everyone else to use and control, like objects.
