Them screaming "Bang" at the dalgona game had me on the floor. Must be so effective because the actors never know when they are going to scream, so the jumpscares are probably real ahahah.

I would be so concentrated acting in the scene and the director screaming “bang!” randomly would scare me for real. Because it would happen when I least expect it. Lol.
I mean I think that’s the idea. If your actors aren’t expecting it and it actually is loud you can get a more genuine reaction

Well actually all the extras that you see being shot in the show are actually specially trained actors for action scenes who have to know how to move their body naturally and accurately for the type of shot happening to them so they're more than just extras.

I absolutely LOVE the fact that they intentionally filmed all the episodes/games as their actual order in the show… to capture their genuine physical exhaustion and emotional fatigue as they progressed!💖
Except for the marble game episode, where they filmed the scene with Sae-byeok joining forces with the other girl, and because they had become friends in real life it was very emotional because it was also the other girl's final scene in the show.

Most movies/shows aren’t filmed in the order it is shown (the main exception being the old “live audience” sitcoms).
Of course, I can tell they're just actors acting...but I see Il-Nam and I still believe that he's actually Il-Nam in real life 😂 I can't think of him as just an actor!

The woman at 2:15 made me remember how good the extras all were. Basically all of the extras had to be pretty decent actors cus they were all constantly terrified.
This helped me to realize that characters weren't real people, they didn't die and they had fun there. Thanks, because the movie itself hits really hard.

as someone who hates blood and had to cover her eyes during the games, this is such a relief to watch, it makes it less scary and kinda funny how the gunshots are just people yelling “bang”

I'm going to be honest, I didn't have high expectations for this series but seeing that everyone spoke wonders of it and even recommended it, I dared to watch it; And believe me it was the best thing I did, I literally watched the entire series in just ONE DAY; I am not one of those who like to watch series because they tend to bore me but it did not happen in this case, its plot, suspense totally enveloped me. I dare say that it is the best series Netflix has ever released. Let's hope the second season of "Squid Game" comes out.
Yes, I thought it was great. If they do another season, I hope we get to see more from the perspective of the workers, how they are recruited, how they are trained, and how they feel about the horrible things they have to do to the contestants who lose.

Really cool to see Hwang Dong-hyuk work with the actors. He has such a clear idea of what he wants for every shot. End product was amazing.
The slow motion glass explosion shot was amazing. I knew that had to be pretty complex from a technical standpoint and seeing the behind the scenes confirms just how intricate that scene was
That was the scene I hated the most because it seemed so unnecessary and cruel to the players who successfully made it across.

The amount of brainpower, time, physical work, and emotional energy that went into creating this... I hope Netflix is paying them all what they deserve. A billion dollars earned from one show on a streaming platform... it's insane. Bravo to every single person and particularly, the director/writer who gave us this gem of a series

I can attest to that actually, one of the actresses admitted to falling asleep in the middle of the shoot too. Jesus, how many hours does it take to get everything perfect just to create a show like Squid Game? :o

Actually sadly the creator of squid game wasn’t paid any additional money after Netflix originally bought it from him and after it gained its fame
You gotta hand it to the extras as well.. they also did a good job with the acting

Seeing the tug of war scene broke my heart bc you never see Deoksu and it's because the actor is literally throwing up between takes. Poor man, so much respect for him for doing what he did for this role.

He threw up cos he didn't breathe in time and using all strength to pull...much like weight lifting.
If you don't breathe properly when doing weight, you get light headed and want to throw up too.

The stunts and effects seem even more dangerous and grueling in real life than I thought they would. Such an amazing show!!!!

One of the many great things about squid game is that they acted in real sets instead of computer designed environments. You can see why it's better...

Man that tug of war scene took a lot out of them! Translated so well on screen. You can see the exhaustion and stress especially when he was dangling.
That’s because apparently a real machine was pulling them so they actually had to use all their energy

along with Sae-byeok, Mi-nyeo and Deok-su stole my attention. they were intimidating in their own ways. Min-nyeo with her tactical and pragmatism approaches, her twist and turn personality, her ability to spot and abuse her opponent weaknesses, she keeps her words to death. bruh that's off the chain. Deok-su the menacing one, that tough-to-beat kinda guy, does everything to win, i love the way he hides his weakness so well and smooth until gradually exposed. Kim Joo-ryeong and Heo Sung-tae are sooo talented ! love em !

This is why the arts are important! What an amazing display of the acting, the direction, the process, the people it takes, and the professionalism needed to produce something so masterful. It's incredible to see the actors and their process through shooting.

i love that the "bang" man in the dalgona scene screams the "bang" on the top of his lungs so the reaction from the actors is real
Squid Game is an example of the excellence of South Korean Film and TV not an anomaly. The writing, acting, direction and production are all top notch. And they excel at many different genres.
It really took a lot, and I mean LOT OF EFFORT producing this series. I wasn't aware it was this much, much appreciation to the WHOLE TEAM. YOU DESERVE ALL THE CREDIT !!!
You know in light of the tragedy that happened on the set of that film Rust, it's great to see how they managed do incorporate shooting and reactions to gun shoots really well

It's not an easy task to be able to convince emotions and stories to a massive range and amount of audience. It's not an easy task to be able to make a show that will become a global " fever". If it were an easy peasy task, I'd be producing one. So, we gotta appreciate the team and their work that's involved in creating such a phenomenal masterpiece. Even if you refuse to accept it as one, I betcha our average Ram, Harry and Dick can't recreate it. Well, even if they do -- it will be just a photocopy. 😄🤷

Seeing this made me remember how those were actual actors with some of the best tv performances in a long time. Especially when they’re not real gunshots and the fear isn’t as real. These actors are beyond talent.

They initially ordered a ton of them in bulk but they were too thick, so they had to get an artisan to come in and make them on set as they filmed. The art director was really dedicated to making it all look right.
Whenever you see someone eating on a movie, just remember that means they had to eat that for the whole day

this was cool to watch. I'm so glad there was no commentary or music. I think that takes the focus off the actors and what's going on around them during filming.
I actually jumped when the person said bang the last time in the playground scene. Also, in the glass panel scene at the ending. the director or director's assistant gave the actors a new meaning 2 the word "cut". lol!!!

Shooting a good work really needs a lot of details, the director and staff of the person in charge, the actors with exquisite acting skills, and a moving script. I can see that their shooting process is not easy. Maybe this is art.
I like when kang-sae-byeok said “It’s going to be mine later” and then ji-yeong said “yes but not now”
I love behind the scenes, shows what the actors really go through. I can be sad, or surprised, or happy, but over and over with the same intensity? Great cast.
When you want to make such an amazing series, the hardwork that goes into it HAS to be tremendous. Hats off to the whole team for such a wonderful series!

Asian Series are so underrated. The crazy idea of the stories (could be an anime/manga as well) but bringing that idea to life so it's believable - thats an art. Also the quality of them is like there are no limits. I am at a point where I only watch netflix for mostly asian series. They are just mangas but as Netflix original and thats crazy.
