THE PROM follows Dee Dee Allen (three-time Academy Award winner Meryl Streep) and Barry Glickman (Tony Award winner James Corden) are New York City stage stars with a crisis on their hands: their expensive new Broadway show is a major flop that has suddenly flatlined their careers. Meanwhile, in small-town Indiana, high school student Emma Nolan (newcomer Jo Ellen Pellman) is experiencing a very different kind of heartbreak: despite the support of the high school principal (Keegan-Michael Key), the head of the PTA (Kerry Washington) has banned her from attending the prom with her girlfriend, Alyssa (Ariana DeBose). When Dee Dee and Barry decide that Emma's predicament is the perfect cause to help resurrect their public images, they hit the road with Angie (Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman) and Trent (Andrew Rannells), another pair of cynical actors looking for a professional lift. But when their self-absorbed celebrity activism unexpectedly backfires, the foursome find their own lives upended as they rally to give Emma a night where she can truly celebrate who she is.

We don’t know that they filmed the whole You Happened, they’ve never shown any other footage of it. Yes it’s in full on the soundtrack but since they have shown unseen clips of Acceptance Song you’d think if they did film the whole You Happened it would’ve been in previous bts content and this, but it hasn’t.
from what i've seen (might be wrong tho idk), it seems like the gym scenes of You Happened was filmed when they had to go back and film during the pandemic, so it would make sense if they never even filmed the end of it

I'm pretty sure they filmed the entire Acceptance Song. My mom was an extra when they shot that song. She said that they performed the entire thing, and it was hilarious. I hope they can release it at some point.

i love how the movie incorporated some Broadway stage elements, like Kidman’s number when talking to Emma in her living room, where the lights dimmed completely and a stage light was on Kidman’s character

Such a great, eclectic cast. Total feel good movie about acceptance/inclusion. Streep and Corden are hysterical but turn dramatic on a dime. Jo Ellen Pellman, the unknown actress at the center of the story, tears your heart out.

I personally think that every actor in the world should learn that how to dance party celebrate just like the people in the prom they should learn to dance like that just in case they ever need to be in a musical or A film that just has dancing and plus they might have fun learning something new and I have learned through life that movies like the prom that it’s moments like that is where you feel so alive
