Though, being a purist, I didn't like Ciri's training in the books because Geralt and the rest of the witchers were horrendously demanding. Her entire body was full of sores and wounds and more importantly, she was having fun. She loved those trainings and thought it was the best time of her life afterwards. Whilst in the show, Ciri is moody, so very teenage type.

-in the first episode they could show some training with the Witchers right before they leave Kaer Morhen where we see the witchers actually become Ciri's family. After that they could fill in the scene with Yarpen and the Scoiatel where we could see Ciri and Yen start developing their mother-daughter relationship which was butchered in s2.
-Next episode Geralt leaves Ciri with Yen and goes to track down Rience and meets Philippa (Philippa screen time is urgent since she and Vilgefortz are the main characters in the events on Thanedd) We also see him meet Kodringer (bet I butchered his name) and Fenn. In the meantime we see Yen training Ciri.
-In the next episodes we should see the rest of the stuff of ToC and 6 episodes are more than enough for that since what makes these chapters really big in the books is the dialogue.

I don't understand the craze about that particular really light blonde. Human hair cannot handle being lightened to that colour for long periods at a time so the actors have to wear wigs. Like in the scenes shown here, the wig is so obvious and at times looks really bad, especially if the actor is hiding long hair under the wig. Why not have it a colour that the actors hair can sustain, like the one she has in the interview.

This is a great TV show. I'm sorry you haven't had as much fun as I've had - I disagree. The writing is superb - so many great character moments and situations.

@@jazzx251 In all honestly, I'd love to.
Especially because, unlike the showrunner, I know the difference between "adaptation" and "original story".
      Please tell Netflix I'm available.
      Jokes aside...
I do understand why people both like and dislike the show.
Don't get me wrong, the show is indeed fun to watch. I mean, I've watched it.
The problems start if you've read the books... And please, give me at least the benefit of the doubt: huge problems.
You see, not only did both Netflix and the showrunner lied about this being an adaptation. But the original story they're telling here is sub-par when compared to the books' plot.
"Netflix's The Witcher" is a completely original story.
It's sometimes vaguely inspired by something that happens in the books, but it's absolutely a different story - with different characters.
(Yes. Yennefer, Triss, Ciri etc. are in the series - but they're different people that only happen to have that same name. Geralt is very close to the book's character tho.)
Of course, I'm NOT saying that "different is bad" by default. Look at the Goblet of Fire movie, it's different but it works.
      Here tho... It doesn't.
This series is 100% inferior to the source material, by a lot.
Does this make it bad? Nope.
      It's not bad.
But knowing what they could've done, it surely is a missed opportunity.

    • @jazzx251

@@marinomele4575 Well Marino - I'll tell you what else is not faithful to the books ... "The Witcher 3" - one of the greatest computer games ever made, and the sole reason this show ever got made in the first place ... (and the reason I'm now a huge Witcher fan who is still only halfway through 'Tower of the Swallow')
It doesn't need to be the same as the book - that would be impossible.
Not least because these young actors are killing it - Anya, Freya, Joey ... how could any director say "You're not in the next 4 seasons, but you come back in season 5 - sorry - but that's what the book says - I can count on you coming back, yes?"
      Of course not.
These terrific discoveries MUST be given something significant to do - otherwise we lose them.
      That's the nature of TV.
That means shoe-horning them into the plot. And they did a great job of that this season.
The whole Baba Yaga thing was genius ... because it's entirely in keeping with European folklore - causing major trauma for several main characters.
But we got what I wanted - an awesome Ciri training scene. It was brilliant! :)
The book suggests that she's done some training - "well, there's 'the comb' ... and then 'the pendulum' ... and then the 'windmill' .. and they knock you off, but you have to get straight back up - otherwise you'll be scared" ... but we see it on the screen this time ... even more awesome and terrifying than I imagined!
Again - that scene owes more to the game than to the book. But I think it's the best of the series, among several terrific scenes.

@@jazzx251 Dude, of course TW3 is not faithful to the books... It's a sequel.
There's nothing to be faithful to.
The game's trilogy is a non-canon continuation of the books.
I too like when they expand on something, like Ciri's training and Yen's backstory. Of course I do.
What I don't like is they saying "this show is faithful to the books", this season is based on "Blood of Elves"... But it's not true.
The Show is a reboot and S2 was an original story.
Let me ask you this: do you know what's in S2 that's actually from the books?
I promise you it's a complete original story.
So, why they had to lie?
And why they're still saying it's a faithful adaptation? It's clear they want to do a COMPLETELY different thing.
Especially since now they've established a storyline they need to follow - so from now on it'll be even more different.
Then again, I've already said this but it's VERY important: I'm not against it being different.
It's just a pity that these differences are worse then the source material.
      PS
It's pretty apparent you haven't read them, but the characters were all in that book they scrapped.
So no, it wasn't for TV reasons - it was a deliberate choice.
