- This post-apocalyptic tale follows Augustine (George Clooney), a lonely scientist in the Arctic, as he races to stop Sully (Felicity Jones) and her fellow astronauts from returning home to Earth, where a mysterious global catastrophe has taken place. Clooney directs the adaptation of Lily Brooks-Dalton’s acclaimed novel Good Morning, Midnight, co-starring David Oyelowo, Kyle Chandler, Demián Bichir and Tiffany Boone. Coming to Netflix December 23rd.
The Midnight Sky, adapted from Lily Brooks-Dalton's novel Good Morning, Midnight, is so much more than a post-apocalyptic story. It's a movie about loneliness, sacrifice, and coming to grips with big decisions as the end draws nearer.
But more than anything, The Midnight Sky is a movie about hope.
Augustine is an aging scientist in a remote Arctic research center. Sully is a young astronaut returning home from an outer space discovery mission. What could they possibly have in common?
As it turns out, quite a bit. Both Augustine and Sully turned their backs on traditional familial bliss in order to explore the great unknown. They're both stranded in vast, inhospitable spaces. When communication systems around the world mysteriously stop working, both must reckon with the knowledge that the world as we know it may be coming to a swift and definitive end.
But neither is going to take the apocalypse lying down.
As Sully's ship rockets towards Earth, Augustine embarks on a journey across the unforgiving Arctic landscape, hoping to warn Sully and her crew about the catastrophe waiting for them on the ground.

The movie immediately falls down for me with the "discovery" of K-23!!! That moon looks large egnough that even Gallileo would has spotted it!!! Also when Sully is running through that wheat field we see FIVE other round worlds in the sky...not even orbiting Jupiter equitorially.
What bothered me is how the three astraunauts were constantly disconnecting from the ship to go from one rail and literally jump off being completely disconnected with such risk of floating off....

i dislike him because Weinstein was his buddy and he continued his personal friendship and professional relationship even though he knew Weinstein was assaulting women. To me he lost credibility,. he is one of those celebrity that does anything to gain money and do not care about other people.
Funny how he pretended to care about other people and went to jail for a good "cause" but he did nothing about Weinstein. to me that enabler by continue to associate with him.

It was a rather boring watch. And I finally fell asleep at the space sequence. Storytelling not good. Finished the film without fully understand what was going on
I just watched it... I had high hope's but dumbest damn movie I ever saw, a total waste of time. No plot, fragmented, no character development, no nothing.
Very very uneven film.

Hail Caesar was a huge waste of time and waste of my money! Stupidest show I ever watched. He is hit or miss in my book. Wasn't too excited about O Brother where Art Thou or the men who stare at Goats either.
