The writers seem to have done well job.
The notion of 'a man and a woman can be friends'. Female lead is not being protected or saved by male lead. Doesn't include chebol throwing money story line - debatable.
You should watch the reply series and prison play playbook all by the same director as this drama they were all amazing

sajangnim questioning junwan > junwan, completely clueless, asking the most sensitive one, jeongwon > jeongwon seemed like knowing something from songhwa > she flustered, but her reflex looking at the inssa ikjun > ikjun looking seokhyong because he know his confession > seokhyong admitting it. the details are perfect!

There another detail. Look at Seokhyeong eyes when he said 'Songhwa like someone else' his eyes were pointing at Ikjun.
6 episodes later, we can finally say that Ik Jun is definitely Song Hwa's first love, and that Ik Jun liked Song Hwa back then and was about to confess to her but then he was called by Seok hyun to join him in drinking his rejection by Song hwa away. We saw that gift Ik Jun threw. It read: happy birthday, chae song hwa. 🥰
Yup. That's my guess too. When she said she really did like someone, she kind of gave him a look.
Its just like thst. Seokhyong asked her put, shong hwua rejected him because she had feelings for ik jun ( she said that she really liked someone then). It was shown when she was asked out by ik jun and when ik jun had his birthday. After the rejection seokhyong went out for a drink with ik jun. There ik jun decides to decline his date with shong hwua due to this complex situation. He also had feelings for shong hwua. He bought her a gift which later we are shown that he threw away ( it had a card wishing shong hwua hbd). Shong hwua really got hurt from that. Later on shong hwua tries again asking ik jun out on a date at his birthday. He excuses himself by saying he has a blind date insisting that he can't miss. That was obviously an excuse to avoid shogn hwua due to the earlier complex situation. As we learnt in the show shong hwua and ik jun have theirs birth days close to each other so the climax was still heated from the earlier events. At this point both have feelings for another but ik jun doesn't want to make the things complicated with seokhyong. He chose brother hood. That the full love backstory of those 2

I loved how Songhwa looked at Ik-jun who we can assume had feelings for Ik-jun, then Ik-jun (who had feelings for Songhwa but chose friendship instead) looked at Daemyung, and then finally Daemyung that confessed again😂😂

well if you already saw episode 6, you will know the answer. Looks like they both do like each other back then. But because yang seok hyeong confessed to song hwa first, he keep his love by himself.
There are a few points why I think song hwan likes ik jun
1. She looks at him when the guy asks if he disturb the calm.
2. When he says that's a cookie cutter answer she says to him that she really did like someone sort of wistfully
3. The birthday cake during the song she asks him if it's for her and her adorable smile
4. She also seems quite happy when he tells her to go tell the mom about the surgery being a success in first episode and not just happy for the situation she gets a little blush around him sometimes
5. He seems to appear whenever she needs a man. She sees him when thinking about surgery, he comes in the terrible cyclist outfit when she says she doesn't need a man, he is the first to call her into the car when they all go out for dinner. Not convincing points but given the directors love for hidden clues it just seems like she likes him.

And now the IkSong nation can confidently say, "It's still you, IkJun.. it's always you!"

notice how at 0:44 the chain of looks start with
-junwan: the first to confess and pursue romance
-jeongwon: the second to confess and pursue romance
-songhwa: trying to figure what to do with ikjun and her feelings (in the middle of the sequence too which makes me think she's in the middle about romance after season 1 as opposed to how she always said she'll be alone in the beginning)
-ikjun: trying to go out with songhwa after repressing his feelings for long
-seokhyung: not interested in dating until the end of S1 but is taking things slow
maybe all this is a reach since they only looked at each other, but I've been trying to pay attention to detail since HP loves to drop these kinds of things everywhere. Even things as simple as looks can mean so many things in dramas.

The thing that bothers me even if I ship the obvious is that this PD is the same PD who made the Reply series. You will never know until the story truly unfolds, until the characters are fully established, and until the story is ending. You can never be sure of your ships. Hahahahaha but anyway, I really hope we get a Songhwa-Joonwan in the end. But, jungwon has his little things of showing care for songhwa as of now. I really think it’s a battle between these two. And add that, in a true Shin PD fashion, both have JW as initials. Ahhh! I’m excited!

Reply 94 and 88 also got me so nervous to the point of almost breaking down...
But both of my ships had sailed.
Meaning, second leads were strong opponents indeed
Yet love is complicated.
I understand your disappointment but the couples on the end game had their own share of chemistry,story and deserved happy ending.
I mean, all the clues were shown why.
On 94, there were a time they broke up because of long distance,
Their love was not special enough to conquer that,
The second lead was amazing,
But the male lead's little to almost unnoticeable affections is the real gem!
On 88,
To be honest I was also surprised when things suddenly changed
I did not shipped Deok Sun and Choi Tak until later...
I even thought that Park Bo Gum is only a special guest.
But the turning point,
Choi Tak did not hesitate!
He has his own concerns that's why he always take sleeping pills,
But when he saw that tiny chance...he grabbed it and never let go.
Going back on hospital playlist,
Their friendship is beautiful I agree on that...
But the line to romance is so thin that it's a shame not to cross it.
Besides, if a romantic love is form I don't believe it will ruin their friendship,
Who else deserves the impressive Songhwa if not one of them?
For now, I want a love triangle between Ahn Jung Won, Chae Songhwa and Kim Jun Wan to happen.

I love the way the director show us each character development, and how the actor expressed their feeling towards each character.. and this drama make us always wondering too 'if there is something between them?' Because on the other hand the other doctor who likes them, like the girl with a low ponytail whose like yoo yeonseok and the junior boy who like mido (our one and only girl). they are all cutie, and IF at the end of this drama there is no romance between this 5 dumb and dumbers i am fine with it.. this is actually a really refreshing drama, the only one drama that never makes me want to ship her with him, him with her or something

I really ship the gs resident with him! He is too sensitive but she is very objective. I liked how they portrayed her character, being objective doesnt mean u dont care and besides thats a good quality of a doctor who can handle emergency😬 it will be fun if that ship sails

am i the only one who shipped songhwa with ikjun from the very first episode? lol i knew that ikjun had wife at that time, but i watched reply series so i was so sure that they would divorce and in the end he ends up with songhwa and its true. i saw most of the comments were rooting for songhwa junwan lol. the theory is, the main actor of the group will end up with the girl in the group guys. and its jo jung suk with jeon mido
I feel like the order of the band and how they're placed is important and for some reason the two males in the front (the guitarist) are the potential love triangle (I still can't memories their names)

I just know that Song-hwa likes Ik-jun the cupid too. Here and in another episode when Ik-jun played guitar in that Canon band practice. She stares at him like love at first sight kind of thing. And watching the latest episode that I won't tell in respect for the future viewers, just confirms my guess.
I just hope our Cupid will have some wholesome ending after his two or three(?) successful projects.
