Rather than the kiss I actually love it more when he touched Gyeoeul's head and rub it slowly with the look in his eyes. The thing about Gyeoeul is, true, she's so in love with him, but she tried. She gave her all and do her best to get him. On the other hand, Jeongwon is not. All he did this whole time was hiding his feelings because he thought she's something he shouldn't desire. You can tell how much Gyeoeul crosses his mind by how fast he thinks of Gyeoeul the moment he decided to be a doctor.
That slow rub is him giving up, forgave himself for wanting Geoeul in his life, and letting himself fall completely for her. There is love, relief, happiness, and greed combined in that eyes and that hand. Such a vulnerable moment. It's so beautiful.

The fact that you can see his Rosary bracelets (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not a Christian) when he rubs Gyeoeul's head is such a nice detail. Like, he didn't abandon God, he just chooses a happier path for him.

The most realistic love story i have ever seen in kdrama world.

This is my first time seeing a kdrama couple with the female whose not dolled up or no make up make up look. Gyeoul is the most natural and doesn't care about dolling up in kdrama really, like all throughout the drama. She didn't get a beauty makeover, or a transformation to be noticed. That's why I like her because she's very relatable in that sense. Also not all female want to change themselves or make extreme effort just for a guy to like them.

Ikjun the biggest supporter of Wintergarden is screaming and teasing Jeongwon at the moment.

Me watching this scene over and over again. I SHIPPED THEM SO HARD.

When you tried so hard to be with someone that you love but they just turn their head and cross over you and you know for sure they don't want you in their life then you feel like to give up but you still feel something isn't right if you don't tell them how you feel.

Put all your corage and making your last move for end this one-sided-love-story.

The whole scene was just so beautiful, I was trembling. But what caught my breath away, was the way Jeongwon looked at her during her confession and when he approached her. Those were the eyes of a man who is so damn in love. The eyes of a man, who feels sorry for rejecting her, for making her feel like this cause she feared that he really wouldn't like her. The eyes of a man who really suffered to contain his feelings, to repress them for so long, for making himself suffer this way when Gyeoul was right next to him and he kept on being in denial. He touched her hair as if he even feared to break her, it was really so sincere, so pure and so so innocent. Priesthood isn't the only call for Catholics, marriage is also a call. He was destined to save lives and to love.
Nothing made him quiver in these 40 years but Gyeoul made him know what is like being in love.
The kiss was just a natural reaction, it was the epitome of a man who tried to deny his feelings to her and to himself. He's gonna love her and treasure her in the most beautiful way.
Also here it can't be noticed, but in the continuation of the kiss in the next scene, there was a tear running on the bridge of his nose. He really cried while kissing her.
No words are really needed anymore.

More than the kiss, what really caught my breath was the earnest look Jeongwon was giving Gyeoul. It looks like he was longing for the moment he got to touch, kiss, and hold her and when he finally did he couldn't help but cry cos it was worth it. Rooting for these two til the end 💗

For a brief moment i thought when JeongWon was putting his hand on Gyeoul's head, he would go something like "i reject you in the name of God" cause Shin PD is really good at twisting scenes 😂😂 glad it was a nice closure for all the cliffhangers. Cause what we need the most is either the Winter Garden's sailing or not

He cannot resist her honesty...one of the traits of children he really adores

This scene played out so beautifully. The look of Jeongwon's eyes just spoke how much he's been holding back in his heart. Gyeoul's crying and quavering of the lips showed how much courage it must've took. She came in ready to face rejection, it was really brave of her to speak her heart infront of him. Jeongwon didn't even need to say anything because his action said it all. I felt the emotion built up for that kiss. Kudos to YYS and SHB for giving us such a beautiful moment

You know the scene touched hearts when most of the comments are essays. And yes this scene deserves it all. The thought the portrayal the cinematography just everything from the script to the acting to the soundtrack everything was perfectly imperfect and made sense. This scene is the type of scene that you watch in advance and then decide that the whole drama is worth waiting for this one scene.

when you realize that for every scene they are alone together, there's a line always separating them (either the line of the glass door at the ER dept, the elevator door, the blue and red lines in the ER glass, and many more), and Dr. Ahn only crossed that line on the later EPs. some intense work on the build up of this ship.

Shin Hyun Bin (Gyeoul) is really an outsanding actress. See, in the close up shot you can see her lips were shaking while confessing, you can fe the emotions and the bravery.
Also, the kiss. It was a perfect presentation for both first timers/innocent haaha I was expecting a more intimate because hello? It's Yoo Yeon Seok hahahaha but with this, IT WAS JUST PERFECT. IT WAS SO SO BEAUTIFUL.

Though many people hated that he responded her confession wth just a kiss without saying anything, but cant you see his eyes were teary, he was gulping afraid and his hands were trembling when he touched her hair. Actions speak louder than words. Like, how do you expect this drama to go in the cliche ,'i like you' 'i like you too' scene, ugh hell no.
This drama shows various way (with a lot of couples) on not just how people struggle to confess but also how people would struggle to react to the confession.
This scene is such a satification masterpiece and THAT'S A FACT.

I think she's one of the best female characters of the series. She had more courage than him to face the reality. Even when he rejected first (and that was such a huge mistake), she still had feelings for him, but decided to be more prudent. This moment was brilliant. She's really awesome and I'm happy he finally accepted his feelings for her.

take note that even before this scene, Jeong Won already decided to stay, and when Song Hwa figures it out, he tells her not to tell the other guys yet as he wanted to tell Gyeoul about it first.
I would like to thank Ikjun for pushing this couple, when he told Jeong Won that for sure God would understand if he chooses to follow his heart, i think that was a final push for him to decide to stay, for me he really can’t be a priest because his feelings for her have already grown, he tried to stop it though by not paying attention to her (not allowing himself have dinner with her on their own, not complimenting her when she took down the guy who beat up his child) but his jealousy seeing her with other guy fuels the fire lol

gyo ul doesn't need to change her appearance, doesn't need to wear makeup, doesn't need to wear different clothes everyday, and she suceed in taking his heart omg all she need to do is better herself, reflect, change for the better, be kind, like of course gyo ul is beautiful. Of course i think that she is not the only reason he choose to stay, he think of his mom too and the sick children, he could help save children life being a doctor than being a priest.

I can't get over his expression in this scene. His eyes spoke a thousand words but I'm now greedy for more of these two and I want to know when did he fall in love with her?

if we analyze this visually, it's Jeongwon who first crossed the line between them (the center line on the still shot)! While Gyeoul just stood there while confessing, not moving or crossing that middle line because she knew her place. She must've been so shocked when Jeongwon approached her!!!! AHKKK MY HEART

Wow i really applaud gyeoul's actress. The slight tremble on her lips, dry throat, shaky breathe.... All of then are just masterpiece, she rlly nailed the role of lovesick woman confessing to her love of her life

The shaky camera work the breathes between the words, the lack of soundtrack, the leaned frame until he puts his hand on her head... the uncertainty... they've really done a great job with this scene.

Loving this series so much. We find Song Hwa and Gyeo Eul, two women where all the men can rely on, very capable of handling surgeries, humble, and very smart. I haven't found any series which portray women in such positive angle.

Every time I watch this scene, I notice a new little detail and marvel at the mastery of the actors, PD and crew. This time I noticed how Dr Jang almost winced just as Prof Ahn touched her head with his hand. And in the light of her back story of parental abuse coming out in a later episode, that makes perfect sense. She had said in an early episode that she had never been kissed, and when we later learn of her father's abusive character, we can understand that she does not actually know what to expect when a man touches her. Despite her tremendous attraction to Prof Ahn, will his touch be nice? Or will it hurt? Even when he kisses her, she hardly knows how, or whether to respond. A wonderful scene created by some very talented people!!

imagine how scared she must've been because she has been rejected by Jeongwon before (to go out to eat, with just them two).
this scene was probably my favorite, like finally, after many many many frustrations the ship has sailed!

Basically Shin PD give these characters name with some implicit meaning. Winter + Garden = Xmas. First kiss in Christmas. Lots of clues in the episode but never thought that the script will go this far, i just predicted that the confession will be accepted. But I guess now with this open ending, the fans can rest assured until next year when S2 released 😁

You realize that in this scene (when Winter Garden is in the same room), the only thing that Garden said was "What is it?". But you could feel so much emotion oozing out from when he first hears Winter's confession, to his heartbreaking gaze when he decides to finally follow his heart and gives Winter the gentlest pat, kiss, and hug ever.
Yoo Yeon Seok did a STELLAR job in this scene. Much was spoken without words. Kudos to Shin Hyun Bin for an excellent portrayal of the brave Winter as well, the trembling lips was unbelievably painful yet satisfyingly rewarded.
Much mouth covered shrieks, foot stomping, and waterworks happened within this scene.

I think that a part of Jeongwon feels sorry that Gyeoul was the one who always approached him first. Which is why he dropped his head and sighed when she said she likes him. But seeing her courage in being vulnerable also gave him that push to finally allow himself to love her.

It's one of best confession scenes in Korean drama history. I know there wil be more their kiss scenes in season 2 or 3, but this kiss scene is still special. No words can describe how beautiful and meaningful it is. It's so perfect.

I thought he was just going to pat her head but ahn jeongwon is the MAN 😭 crying again

This scene feels so real. There’s no beautiful background song, you can hear her breathing and sniffling so clearly; even the sound of jeong wons steps is very clear. You can totally feel the silence in the room👏👌

I can't count how many times I watched this scene. Gyeoul being brave confessing her feelings without expecting he feels the same way too she just wants him to stay in the hospital with her and Jeongwon who made a big decision in 40 years of his existence he gave up his dream and bet everything to Gyeoul even without knowing Gyeoul's feelings. You can see he was surprised and teary eyed that Gyeoul actually loves him and suffering too. Seeing Gyeoul's lips shaking and worried about his answer he wanted to say "im sorry for making you suffer like i do, yes gyeoul i will stay because I like u too" yet no words can better describe his feeling so he kissed and hugged her making her feel relieved and assured that he will be there and will never leave her. And that is his answer 🥺🥺🥺

The only down-side to watching K-Dramas is that it mesmerize you to such an extend that you feel so empty when the drama is over.😭😭 it literally feels like a break-up now that Hospital Playlist has ended. 😥

This scene is a full love story within itself. The way she's crying and her breath is shaking. Like she's afraid of rejection and the way she's apologizing. Cause she knows he wants to do something that her confession in coming against and there's nothing she can do about it.
And him, the way he's slowing approaching her, every step is a burden. And the way he lightly touches her hair, as if testing something foreign and afraid he'll do something bad. And when he kisses her, he cries. Because his denial of her has left him, but also his dream and also cause he has accepted her now. And letting go of his internal war. Admitting his feelings.

I watched Korean Drama since 15-17 years ago since i was teen. But let me tell you, this is the most beautiful confession ever in K-drama!!!! I got a butterfly on my stomach, watching this❤️. Both of them portraying this vulnerable moment successfully, all the movement, gesture, eyes, tears (esp Jeong Won's tears after the kiss), lips, hand, sounds (did you hear smooth sound of Gyeoul trying to contain her crying?) are perfect and breathtaking👏.

This is one of the most beautiful scenes of all the love stories, I've watched in k dramas. No fancy set ups, no fancy bg music, no cheesy lines...everything was so minimal yet so powerful and heart touching. Not to forget the acting, man the chemistry these two had in this drama was totally unmatched. I just can't get enough of Hospital Playlist...I wish they had continued this series...

I MEAN DON'T YOU JUST LOVE THIS SCENE? This is just greatness! The acting is on point! Yoo Yeonseok only acts with his eyes yet you can feel a lot of Jeongwon's emotions-- his pain, sadness, regret, and love JUST WITH HIS EYES ALONE. This was supplemented by his silence which makes it more intimate.
Shin Hyunbin's acting during this scene IS EXCELLENT AS WELL. You can feel Gyeoul's innocence and bravery. Her quivering voice, shaky lips and teary eyes during the confession shows myriad of emotions. You can really feel how torn and scared she was with this knowing that there is a big possibility that she might be turned down because of priesthood in line.
Jeongwon's caress and kiss was everything. It was cathartic. It released all of his bottled up feelings and adoration for Gyeoul. The kiss was innocent, YET IT WAS NEEDY. You can just feel how long they wanted for this to happen.
Hospital Playlist S1 really did a good job in presenting us a slow-burn story arch with Wintergarden. I love this so much IMMA GO DOWN WITH THIS SHIP OKAY!!!

I personally think that Jeongwon started to have feelings for Gyeoul when he saw her picking maggots without hesitation for a patient while other doctors and nurses were afraid to touch it. I mean, just in the beginning of the episode, he scolded at her for being lack of empathy to the patient’s mother (Gyeoul never meant to hurt her) and claimed that he could never get along with her. Just seconds ago he held up his prejudice for her, he saw her beautiful side right in seconds later. With Jeongwon’s personality I believe that he would have been blamed himself for misjudging her when he witnessed how conscientious she was to the patient. Then we can see him giving his attention towards her unintentionally later on, like giving her chocobites or knowing her and Chu Min Ha friendship. But at that time, his determination to be a pastor was too strong that confused him. So I think that that’s the reason why he kept being cold to her or turning her down. Because he was confusing his determination with his feelings. I’m glad that they are endgame by the end of ss1.

The reason of Jeongwon sighing 0:20 is that,
He promised to buy her nice meal if the little girl gets better earlier this episode
The little girl are already discharge and come back again to say thank you to ahn jeongwon earlier that day, but he still haven't buy her the meal he promised.
So when Gyeoul come to his office, he probably thought she was asking for the meal that he once promised. Combined with that one ocassion that he had to lied to her (the infamous your lie in yangpyeong) when she asked him to dine out.
He probably had this thought that he's such a terrible person for doing all of that to her.
His surprised face when she actually meeting him to conffessed, not asking about that meal he promised says it all 😭
And then she keeps apologising when she's not the one at fault 😭

I don't know how many times I rewatched this scene. It was intense. Their emotions were raw 😭 I felt everything. It was delivered beautifully 😊 YYS and SHB were outstanding. The moment wintergardeners have been waiting for and it was worth it. See you in season 2 babies 😘

I loved this moment so very much. The build-up was absolutely pitch perfect. The way he looks at her, touches her hair slides down to her neck as if to say he is so sorry that he made her wait. He didn't just cross the line finally... he erased it. "I am not your professor. I am just a man who loves you."

The most beautiful confession scene i ever seen in the drama world. the breath sound, the dim light, the distance, the tension, the awkardness, the aching of our hearts seeing them shedding their eyes, OMG this is so so well made. i watched it hundreds of times and felt the withdrawal for these few days because I am going to miss this couple so bad! fell really hard on their characters, so relate-able that you remember your own first confession! thank you netflix and the swoon to adopt this drama so international fans can watch it with ease..

It's not that GY finally beats God and JW chose her over his faith. But rather JW realizes that being a doctor is his call. The few last episodes have shown how he cared about his patients and did his best to reassure them. He indeed fell for her but GU isn't the only reason why he chose to stay at the hospital. So ppl pls stop shading them

I was holding my breath during this scene. There were so many ways this scene could go wrong (I don't know that to believe at this point in this ship lol) but their acting is amazing. Their eyes tell you more than what they're saying. The flashback scenes solidify this moment as well and I just remember sleeping peacefully after this ep. Such a feel-good drama.

Shin Hyun Been is really a super actress!

The direction of this scene is spot on! The camera shifts focus on his rosary bracelet followed by the first placement of Jeongwon’s hand w/c is similar to when a priest hovers over someone’s head and says “God bless you” (I held my breath on this scene I really thought he will break Gyeoul’s heart-our hearts too) then it slides down to the side of her head lifting her face up. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

When Jeongwon put his hand on her head you can see her visible confusion like "what is this anti unrequited love petting head feels?" lmaooo

this must have been really heart breaking for some one as sensitive as jeongwon to see one of his faviorate person go through emotional hell for him and him until that very moment had not done anything to ease her immense pain

This scene is just too perfect to end the season for the Winter Garden couple. You can actually feel her emotion when she confessed and asked him to stay by her side, and the way he looked her as he listens to her, and finally the kiss. I love it!
