So, a few days ago, a train derailment happened in my hometown of East Palestine Ohio, involving a chemical release of a black cloud over the town. It sounds identical to this movie, for those that don't believe me look up east Palestine Ohio derailment February 2023

Salem here. It happened behind my cousin’s house. My pops lives .09 miles from where it all happened. 90 million a day it cost the RR. My pops was given a tiny monetary proposal already calling it an “inconvenience reimbursement.” Your DL and or BC along with SSC is needed in order to receive this monetary claim. Sounds like something called settlement. I advised my pops not to do it for it may cancel any other settlement in the future. Definitely some sketchy stuff going on in Columbiana County. Also, some of this was filmed in Salem/Perry Twp. The photos I have definitely makes you wonder with a sick feeling. It is just all kinda questionable in my opinion.

Folks, it doesn't take a lot of braincells to realize that trains crash, and that some trains carry flammable chemicals, and that 2+2=4 this is a potential safety hazard. The fact that a book was written nearly four decades ago about such a thing isn't a prophecy, it's an indictment of our predictable incompetence.
This movie did a wonderful job making it look like a legit 80s movie. From the camera angles to the cut scenes, and the 80s comedy.

The *White Noise* Movie Predictively Programmed this event. As I've heared that someone said it smell like Garlic and Urine after a rain. Well, just before the Train first appeared, they were talking about p+ssing in sinks. That translates to p+ssing to a lower level, descend/drop. At the end of the movie credits, in the grocery store, they were just throwing the plastic bags at the checkouts, in the air. This symbolizes the ingredient that is used to make plastics, that was in the rail cars, going up(in the smoke), and falling(in the rain). Evil bas++rds.
I'm glad that Greta Gerwig is back doing acting. I'm glad that she got enough recognition for her writing and directing talent but as for acting, she's very underrated. Maggie's Plan, Frances Ha and Mistress America are some of her best acting work so to see her act again in this should be amazing

I took this book off my brother’s book shelf back in the 90s and his comment was, “that book sucks but you’d probably like it.” Needless to say I loved it! Now some 30 or so years later and LCD announced they wrote a song for the soundtrack & I wondered, “Could that be the DeLillo book?” Sure enough! What a great meeting of minds! Can’t wait to see it!

Read this in college for a post modern philosophy class 5 or so years ago and liked it so much I started rereading it again late in the fall this year. So stoked to see it come to life and based on the trailer they're staying true to the book so far. Babette running on the stairs, Denise's persistence, and Heinrich & Jack at the window looking at the Toxic Event; it's exactly as I imagined some of those scenes.

It's very well done. I like that the way they deliver their lines make it seem like a stage play. Casting is perfect. Cheadle gives the best performance but they all do very well.

It’s such a phenomena film from Noah Baumbach. It’s comedic in examining the comedic dark sense of looming death that people ignore until it’s facing them and through Baumbach’s comedic touch and his bold singular direction anchored by Adam Driver’s pitch-perfect unsure academic demeanor, it’s one of my favorite films of the year. Can’t wait to see it again.
Also, watch the end credits. Easily the best end credits sequence to a movie this year.

I read the book in the 80s or so and enjoyed it, it’s the most accessible and funny of Delillo’s very sophisticated fiction. I think the movie did it justice. It’s funny and quirky and has its own comments on commercialism. Watch right through the ending credits, it really caps the film.

Great movie! It's an exaggerated snapshot of the 1980s but none the less very interesting.
As a kid in the 1980s, I can attest to it's stunning attention to detail, all the vehicles, wardrobe, especially the design of the products in the grocery store, even down to those "generic" brands was spot on.
A penchant for the dispassionate analysis of everything characterizes the dialogue, as the chemical spill became a toxic plume then finally "a toxic airborne event".
Every character has their moment of interesting insight, where for a brief shining moment they wax almost philosophical about a topic, subject, social conventions, etc
One can trace influences from National Lampoon's vacation (fun with station wagon), a little Simpsons (driving through cornfield then hard turn to dirt road), some Jim Jones (dark sunglasses), etc
From what others have commented the book may be good, I'll check it out. And to think I confused Don Dellilo with Dom DeLuise
