Does Brock Purdy deserve to be paid amongst NFL's top QBs? | Pro Football Talk | NFL on NBC
/ nflonnbc - 스포츠
Niners did not give up Lance, They wanted him to take the job from JimmyG but he couldn’t. Even when they try to force him as the starter he didn’t look any where as good as Purdy did as a rookie.
Bingo. The front office and coaching staff had a vested interest in Lance succeeding. It's just that once inside the building, he flopped.
This is pure nonsense. Trey Lance started 4 games for the 49ers. That’s the least amount of starts for a top 5 pick with the team that drafted them in the Super Bowl era. Not only did they absolutely give up on him, but the way they did it was unprecedented. You guys can say it was because he didn’t play well, but the fact is Purdy had more INTs against the Ravens than Trey Lance has had in his entire career.
You must not watch the 4 games he played. Just compare that to the first 4 Pudy played. You can just see Lance is just not that good and Niners need a QB to win NOW.
*Question:* Does a System Quarterback, who benefits from having 8 Hall of Famers, 9 All-Pros and 10 Pro-Bowlers on Offense, deserve to get paid like the NFL`s top Quarterbacks?
*Answer:* CLEARLY NO. Just Franchise tag Purdy for 1 year, and then get rid off him after 5 years.
@@herrguru4264 So why couldn't Lance do anything positive when he had the chance? He had the same hall of famers that Purdy has. The fact is, Lance was a bust and it doesn't take a Vince Lombardi to see it. Now Purdy, he's the real deal. He stepped in when our two QB's went down and never looked back.
Purdy deserves top 5 💵 but he'll take something team friendly to keep his weapons is my prediction
I really disagree- after three seasons at less than 5% of market value, maybe closer to 2%, his agent will require 100% of market value, and the niners will pay it. And he'll outperform his contract if he stays healthy. He is a truly great player, some people are just slow to catch on, but he has one major issue (besides needing a better o-line)- he holds the ball too long and takes too many bad hits. If he wants a long, successful career this has to change, and a better o-line would be key for this.
There's no rush, Florio. Stop trying to manufacture a problem where none exists.
How many playoff wins does Kirk Cousins have ? How many does Purdy have? So Atlanta signing Cousins is a great deal but SF signing Purdy isn’t?
If cousins was on the 49ers he would have more playoff wins under his belt for sure
Facts 💯
@@jordanhaworth105I agree!!! The weapons that Purdy has is MORE than most!!!
Who said it was a great deal for Atlanta? Who said Purdy doesn’t deserve a massive contract when he’s allowed?
I didn't know that all the other players on offense, defense, and special teams don't matter and wins & losses are all on the QB. Should trade all the high priced players for picks and just draft QBs with every draft pick until you get a good one.
One and a half years as a starter. 1 elbow surgery. Rehabing between year one and two (No one ever brings this up). Two NFC Championships. 1 Super Bowl. Imagine what this kid is gonna be able to with an off-season of training. Oh and still can't even look into getting paid till next year, so why bring it up now? Short answer: Sure.
6 playoff starts. 6 total TDs. 3 TDs in his last 4 playoff games. Like with Jimmy G, this team is winning in spite of their QB not because of them.
@@erikdayne5429that’s simply not true lmao
I hope they pay him top dollar for his services. The NFC will never have to worry about the 9ers again 😂
The Niners own the NFC and always have. That won't ever change lol
Why not? Hurts, Herbert, burrow, dak all got paid massively for one good season, Lamar and Allen was actually worth it
and how well did they do after they got their money? you're kinda proving their point as to why the Niners are waiting.
@@The_Zillithey have no choice. Brock isn’t eligible to get a new contract until after this upcoming season.

I hope they pay him like he's a top 3 QB
They might but it gets reset every year. Wait until CJ Stroud gets 60 million a year from the Texans!
You’re saying it like he’s Kurt cousins. He’s been the best qb the niners have had since Colin’s 3 year prime and even then he was never the pure passer Brock is. This is Brock’s first year with a healthy off season as a starter. If BA is on this team, we draft a RG/RT in the first, you can bet he’ll be better this year. He played in a pro style offense in college and was the best qb in history. Honestly I don’t understand how he was the last pick even if you took away everything he’s done. Tells you the nfl cares too much about 40 times and how good a guy looks in a tank top.
Sounds like sarcasm
Chiefs fan, but as a fellow Chiefs fan, the 49ers have one more year in them, then it is going to fall apart. They have better nail the draft this year, because their stars are starting to age, and have very large cap hits, and there is not a lot behind them. @@gperezniners4949
He won’t want that much.
Chances are the top 3 QBs picked in this years draft will not be as good as Purdy...lol.
I think you have a point. It depends upon what “good” means though. I just watched Jayden on his Pro Day and he’s pretty amazing. Jayden might be like CJ Stroud, at least the passing mechanics have similarities. So “better QB” or “better passer.” There are probably 10 passers if not more in the league better than Purdy but I’d rate Purdy top-5 for overall QB intelligence and performance. Brock is hugely underrated, as Trump might say.
@@user-iq6cc3df3l Yup. Quick thinking in a QB is hugely underrated. I go back to Montana as a Niner. Joe was out of this world in terms of QB intelligence.
Will they get that roster and Kyle Shanahans play calling? Paying brock zero is why they can afford that roster. Talk to me about your boy and the state of the 49ers in 3 years if you pay him top 5 money. They'll pretty much look like the Cowboys now.
@@justinmj6586 Sure. When they pay Brock, they will got down. That is why the need to win now.
@@justinmj6586 Salary cap was installed when the Niners and Cowboys used to have huge Salary advantage. It has worked. Now any team can win if they draft well and manage the cap. It is good for the league. Look at Detroit and Greenbay...their window to win it all is wide open.
Yes. Pay him. Eat that cap space up!
He better get more than hurts!
Exactly
You are 100% correct about the QB placement.
Limit the max contract to 10% of the Cap.. for all players, every position. The QB salaries are revolting.

He’ll get at least $50M per year at his current performance level, maybe top Burrow’s number. The cap keeps increasing ($30M increase this offseason) and I think the only QB on a rookie contract that’s due for a massive extension is Trevor Lawrence. Frankly it’s more about guaranteed money and contract length.
I don't see Lawrence getting top 5 QB money. Maybe only other Qb is CJ Stroud
How does jordan love's contract work

hes not going to get 50 unless its for a performance to the end of the contract and if he keeps being the qb weve seen 49ers could do a mahomes like contract with 8-10 year contract with it being on the back end and 3-4 years from now the extra money will help pay.
The fact that the Owner is answering and not deferring to the GM spells trouble.
It’s the owners meeting he never really talks otherwise
If Kirk and Dak get paid for what they do for doing nothing, Purdy deserves it even more lol

The cap will continue to go up and qbs salaries will escalate it will end being a better deal over time.
Whatever contract he gets, I hope he outplays it like he's doing now.
Brock seem's like a team guy, with a good to well to do fam. May take a cut to the middle of the list there, but who am I to say. Whatever it is he's hit the jack pot getting drafted to SF, best situation for him by far and big money I'm sure he never thought of being drafted in the 7th.
Bengals fans said the same about Joe Burrow.
We did not give up 3 first round picks, we gave up two and moved up our first round pick for that year to get a qb.
So a humble kid who has never had a real NFL contract is going to turn down generational wealth and play out year 4 of his deal and risk injury and performance drop off…. To play for consecutive franchise tags where he risks the same?
That would be an all time “bet on himself” moment. The brass tacks that would take.
Honestly I think it’s a moot point. He’s a super humble kid who fell into a great situation. Loves his coach and teammates. Can’t see him holding a franchise hostage
Well your paying Lamar crazy money and he hasn't made it to a superbowl...so pay the guy
If Pursy was in the ACF he would’ve either
Lamar won a mvp with Willie Snead as his wr2 and his wr1 was a rookie who had a foot injury all year and miss 1/3 of the games
Only 3 out of the top 10 paid QBs have been to a Super Bowl recently. Getting there is freaking hard, especially when you play in the AFC right now. Purdy will get paid well, but I doubt that he will be resetting the market.

its tough to judge what Brock is worth with the talent on that team but he has performed well and won. With that said, I would like to see a bit more, he has only played 24 games however while I dont foresee his performance dropping I would still like to keep his salary low for as long as possible to keep the tools around him as good as possible.
Gonna look like every other QB with bad skill position guys.
Look at the Chiefs this past season. The players around Mahomes were terrible. They couldn’t score in the second half for most of the season and couldn’t score 30 points in the playoffs. They needed the defense to help carry them.
9ers gonna have to draft good once Purdy gets paid. If they do they will still be contenders.
@@CrookedJoeBiden well they needed all of Mahomes and the defense. If he performs well again this year, then you kinda have no choice but to pay him. I have that same take that you do bout about another Niners QB, Montana. People forget just how much talent that team had...and we didnt even get to the Walsh coaching tree... but that's a debate for another day.
This conversation is entirely moot until he is actually eligible to be paid. If he puts another good year on tape, then we have to have conversations about what he is worth.
Noodle arm led in passer rating, QBR, YPA and had 31 TDs, while making less than $1M.
During that Trey Lance draft I wrote, even before they picked, that the 49ers made one big mistake: “The 49ers gave up huge draft capital and they didn’t know who they would pick.” Now, let’s say it’s 1984 and John Elway and Dan Marino are on the board. I get it. Don’t get John, take Dan. Don’t get Dan, take John. Flip a coin. Both would be great. Hell, Jim Kelly was great! But the 49ers were torn between Lance and what’s-his-face, the guy who went to the Patriots and is now backing up Trevor Lawrence. I don’t believe teams should give up huge draft capital for one player though; it rarely pans out. But if you’re going to do it you better have a plan and a good one. The 49ers absolutely whiffed on that one. (Now during the draft, when the 49ers were next, I wrote they should pick Trey due to arm strength and running ability. I did think Trey was a project though, mostly because he’d really only played one college season. Unfortunately I think Trey Lance could’ve been great but it’s Tic Toc. We may never know and we probably never will now.)
Lance is younger than Will Levis and 3-4 years younger than guys like Hendon Hooker so there is definitely still time. Look up the article Marc Tresman wrote about Lance’s future on The 33rd Team.
Aaron Rogers ncould be on that list if he hadn't given the JETS a discount ... But its a few names on that list who are OVER-INFLATING the market.📈 -🐢
That top 10 list is interesting. Valid arguments could be made that half of them do not deserve anywhere near what they're getting. Purdy has won a lot of games... does that count for anything anymore? I'm looking at Herbert, Murray, Wilson, Watson, and Jones.
Yeah. Some these guys even make excuses to avoid playing sometimes.
What did Hurts to last yr after getting paid?
Purdy has already done enough to be paid.
If Purdy does this year what he did last year, then he has a strong case to be paid at the absolute top of the market. Purdy threw for 400 less yards than Burrow in '21 (his best year), but with 80 less attempts and 60 less completions. He had very similar TD/INT numbers, higher rating, and higher QBR. Similar to Burrow, he made the Super Bowl and lost, and on the way there, he put up gutsy and clutch performances to come back and win. All the things that Burrow rightfully got credit for with the national media, Purdy just hasn't.
If you think Joe Burrow deserves his contract, then it's hard to make a case that Purdy doesn't, because at this point in their careers, they've done the exact same thing, except Purdy's regular season numbers are arguably better than Joe Burrow. As a Niners fan, I hope that Purdy values the rest of the team getting paid so we can keep as many of these guys around as possible, but it's business, so I don't think he should accept less than what he is worth.
If 2024 goes decent - divisional round or later without a "bad exit" then he probably will be. Unless they get that far with him throwing 15 tds and 25 ints but for some reason didn't bench him.
After what he did this past season, I genuinely think he’ll pick up right where he left off and play just as good as last year, I really do. Some of that stuff he did in the playoffs man I mean he really put the team on his back in some key moments especially in the nfc championship. He even put his team in a position to win in the Super Bowl, took KC to overtime
“The Pro Day (PD) workout is meaningless unless it’s really bad.” I laughed pretty hard although I disagree, to a point. I think it shows basic mechanics, foot work, arm strength, release, and accuracy, at least in a controlled environment. It’s actually like a bacterium growing in a Petri Dish where you’ve removed them pesky noisy variables. Because of that it has value. Now, I thought that Zach Wilson had the best PD workout ever. It was mesmerizing. Problem is, Zach appears to not be a “gamer.” Man, Zach can throw a football though but in that case Zach’s PD was like a mirage: you saw the water ahead, licking your lips, as you were trudging along in the 125-degree desert. And then that water turned out to be nothing but dry sand.
Purdy is a stud! Pay that man
Florio: "QBs should demand their contracts as soon as their 3rd season ends."
Also Florio: "QBs should accept a franchise tag each year until they hit free agency."
Florio like to tell others what they should do with their lives.
You're asking the question exactly a year early. His contract value will depend on his performance in 2024. If he performs the same way and takes them to the championship game in each of his first three years it will be difficult to say he doesn't deserve a big contract.
Exactly. This is just a case of Florio trying to create a problem out of thin air lol.
The QBs who are amongst the top paid are the Captains of the proverbial ship. Brock Purdy is not the Captain of the 49ers ship. He is a sailor.
Purdy could demand a new contract and holdout if he doesn't get one. Then you would see Purdy's true value.

Question: if Brock Purdy put himself on the open market, how many teams would be after him and how much would they be offering?
He would get record money from teams like the Broncos,Raiders,Saints,Vikings or Patriots.
He is only 24 years old and has already won 4 playoffs games..3 of those with game winning drives and lost a SB in OT after leaving the field with his team leading.
He would EASILY reset the market given his age and resume already
There might be 2-3 teams and he’d probably get Baker Mayfield type money. Some teams would be dumb and think he’s the reason they’re winning, just like how someone signed Jimmy G when he left. The rest of the league would be smart enough to know the team carried them and they’re not actually a great QB.
@@micahkiyimba8641interesting how you’re talking about team success and not personal stats but I get it. It’s rare to have a rookie QB lead a team to the NFC Championship and Super Bowl appearances in his first 1.5 seasons playing. The brand equity that Brock has added to the 49ers franchise is substantial. So the value added upside is immense to the 49ers. Let’s not forget that Brock represents “the American dream” of achievement through hard work. No wonder companies are clamoring to sign Brock as their spokesperson. It’s good business to have Brock in your organization.
Purdy had 3 TDs in 3 playoff games this year. He didn’t lead the 49ers anywhere, they led him to the Super Bowl.
Let’s see how the team does when Purdy starts getting $50 million that went to other players and said players are gone.
They will continue to draft well we all hope. Did you forget the team does get to do that? You can’t keep everyone forever. That next round of players will come in and hopefully they can get FA here and there. They will be just fine. Stop worrying
The only skill players that showed up in the SB were CMC and Purdy.
The rest of the “super team” no-showed, and even CMC had a back breaking fumble early.

"brock's not going to ask for something no-one's asked for... Jimmy had the highest salary in the NFL..." Hmm
Until he starts stacking Super Bowls no one will steal Purdy for $200M, maybe they don't win Super Bowls but Purdy will be an affordable contract. His physicals and not being Brady in the big games put him as affordable. He could get some Daniel Jones type money as a free agent, but he fails year 1 he will be in the Jones boat. I assume they will put a reasonable deal on the table, that no one who does not know how he will do in their system would offer, and live with the consequences which is the same as with him, not winning a Super Bowl. I can't see changing QBs when you are winning and accomplishing things Jerry Jones would give you a 20% stake in his team to accomplish. I also would not give top 10 money to someone with lesser physical skills who has failed to generate offense when you needed it, they needed to reach the high 20-point range against KC and they didn't do it, KC scored only 19 points in regulation, 28 or 32 points would have won the game.
Lance was given every opportunity to be the starter. Problem is, Lance didn’t develop into a starter, it happens every season, 9ers took a big swing and missed.
No. He was given one opportunity and he got injured. In the other 2 years he was with the team he wasn’t even allowed to compete for QB1.

Okay, so why is everyone holding it against Brock Purdy that he's on a good team? Dak had a bunch of pro bowlers and all pros on his team, did nothing in the playoffs and people are saying to pay that man his money. What's the difference? At least SF wins games in the playoffs.
Purdy had 3 TDs in 3 playoff games this year. That’s barely more than doing nothing. He had 3 more TDs than you or me.
Kirk Cousins and any other Quarterback who has not proven themselves in the playoffs are overrated. Mahomes, should be the highest paid. Purdy should be paid like a guy who can lead his team to the Super Bowl. Just as Jackson deserves to be paid as someone who is the league MVP…
Everyone else who has not achieved a significant benchmark like league MVP or Super Bowl appearances, are definitely overpaid…
Smartest quarterbacks or the most fortunate one contract wise is Russell Wilson, that contract was a thing of beauty…
🤔
What exactly did Purdy prove by having 3 TDs in 3 playoff games this year? That he can get dragged to the Super Bowl just like Jimmy G? Purdy had 4 pro bowlers around him on offense and he couldn’t lead that offense to score 20 points to win a Super Bowl. What a joke.
All QBs are waaaay overpaid. Let them walk after 3 years. Draft a new one.
Dont you know he is on a cheap contract for another year ? I’ll wait a other year to begin that talk…
Please 49ers pay him a premium 💯. Do the rest of the league a favor.
Didn't he lose every game that his starting left tackle didn't play in?
Dude was the MVP last year. If it wasn't him, it was Dak. Everybody forgot that MVP is a SEASON award not a final month of the season award. He's gonna demand and will deserve the top of the market money. Kids a killer and is gonna keep winning so the niners will pay him whatever he needs.
Definitely wasn’t the MVP in the playoffs. He had 3 TDs in 3 playoff games. That’s not elite, that’s not even average, that is way below average but it seems a lot of people love below average QBs with fun stories. Who cares if he plays terribly, he’s got a fun story as Mr Irrelevant.
@@erikdayne5429 Nobody is talking about the post season. He also lead a comback drive to win the divisional round, put the team on his back and had more rushing yds than lamar in both their championship games. Dude is a winner. Why are people attacking the 49ers like this? Is Florio hurting for Cash? Where did this come from?
Here is the correct answer: If he plays like he did last year, then yes obviously. If he's bad this year, which he won't be, but IF he was, then we can revisit it.
How was sitting Lance a dumb decision? He was a project QB that played a single college season. It was exactly the right decision, just like the Packers sitting Rodgers behind Favre and sitting Love behind Rodgers, like KC sitting Mahomes behind Alex Smith, and so on. It’s a luxury for a team to sit a young QB behind am established starter to learn. Lance clearly isn’t NFL ready as shown by his play on the field and what teams see in practice. Maybe if Mac Jones, Justin Fields, and Zach Wilson got to sit for year to learn, they all wouldn’t have been traded for less than what the 49ers got for the less experienced and less capable Lance.
Because he was the only QB taken in that draft who wasn’t made the starter their first year, and every QB taken in the first round of every draft since then has been made the starter their first year.
short answer? absolutely not.
Will another team pay him 55?
Am I the only one who think that if any modern qb would take a team friendly deal like Brady used to do it would be him?
It's not likely to be that friendly, assuming he balls out this year. He's already done more in 2 years on $1m a year than most 1st round rookies have done riding the bench for 10 times more money. There's also the issue of California state taxes.
I'm a big fan, but I wouldn't begrudge him getting every cent he can, and then considering a Brady-type deal next time round, after his financial position is secure. That said, I'm expecting something like a $200m 5 year deal. Not crazy money, but it would make him the highest paid player on the roster.
Exactly! He’s been on a team friendly deal since we was drafted! Best deal in the league! He’s gonna get the bag he’s owed!
Absolutely deserves big money. Cousins, Lamar, Baker, Herbert, Dak, Watson, Jones, Murray, Carr, Allen. All make big money and have not been to the superbowl. Cousins has 400 million.
Purdy should take 12-15 million a year for the team. He’s nothing without Kyle & the weapons.
You think he could step into Bryce Young’s situation and thrive? Negative
Other than Patrick maholms who is really erning there top dollar pay check by a quarterback purdy has been better then all but Patrick whos getting that big qb money
It's gonna be fascinating to see what the Niners actually think of Brock when it comes time to pay him
What is Jed reality of the world?
I’m rooting for Purdy and I hope he gets paid but I would be concerned about paying him if I were the Niners. Not because he can’t play, but he’s a product of what he’s surrounded by. If they pay him, they’ll almost certainly lose playmakers… which they are going to anyway because some of those guys are getting old and are going to retire within the next couple of years. A rebuild is coming. You can’t rebuild with a QB making 40-50 mil a year.
He is not a product of what he is surrounded by. This kid put Iowa St. on the college football map. He was the State of Arizona's player of the year. You do not do things like that unless you are good. Sure, he has talented players on his team, but a good QB uses them and makes them better. Everything purdy has shown says that is who he is.
@@byronsmith3152 he’s good but he’s the kind of player that needs the players around him to be good in order for him to look good. He’s not a Tom Brady , Patrick Mahomes type that has the ability to elevate the players around him. That’s all I’m saying. The players elevate him but he still has to be able to make good decisions and be accurate with his throws… which he is, so I’m not taking credit away from him I’m just saying that he would look a lot different if he was the Panthers QB.
@@BlakeHReviews He is literally the greatest QB in Iowa St. school history. He made BA become an All Pro WR. I swear people have no clue about what they say. He lead in almost every single QB category last year. of course he is not Brady or Mahomes. He has only been playing for a year and a half. You do know that he has accomplished more than the vast majority of QB's in the NFL right? And this stupid idea that if he was on another team he would look a certain way is complete garbage. You have no idea how he would look. Funny how he can take a college team of nobodies and make them all look good and compete just fine against major schools like Oklahoma but you want to assume that he couldn't go to another team and do well. Nothing he has shown says that he would fail elsewhere. I swear you are giving him the 8 year vet treatment because you can't understand that he can actually be a very good QB.
Purdy is legit. Top 10 QB right now. Upgrade that below average Oline, watch out. He will only get better because this is only his 3rd year. He will get paid top dollar for sure.
Purdy on the Titans….is he top 15?
IDK, Purdy does make enough money to buy a new car or live in an apartment maybe a house with no room mat. That will change once he gains his GF to wife. Instead, he was happy to not spend extra money on the little stuff. He has seen other quarterback having seasons he would want. Those QBs made changes with pay to get the talent that helped them. Right now, he may be hoping his favorite receiver will get signed, as the 49ers keep stating they will, hasn't yet. Purdy, if smart, will not take a franchise tag being a one year to another year. He will be asking for a contract with time, bonus, and maybe not as high people are wondering, for to sign talent around him. He has a receiver and running back, not forgetting a tight end that really helps him in where do I throw the ball now. They get open quickly. Maybe not much yardage; a place to throw to with some yardage. I would ask for maybe $35 to $40K, at lease a 5-year contract, no trade, bonuses for this plus that, and a certain percentage increase each year in salary or bonuses. Doing this so there is room to sign/resign players helping me to be at the top of my game.
A better question is, What has Brock Purdy won? The answer should equate to what he should be paid. Speculation never pays off in the NFL.
More playoff games than any QB in their 1st 2 seasons?
@@micahkiyimba8641the same number as Jimmy G maybe they should bring him back too. What’s a joke.
Brock Purdy hasn’t won anything. He had 3 TDs in 3 playoff games this year. They obviously didn’t win those games because of Purdy’s terrific 1 TD per game.
Yes these teams picking at the top of the draft are there for a reason like the Bears 😂😂😂
because they fleeced the panthers?
The rest of the league can't wait for them to pay noodle arm 50-60 mil a year...then we'll see how good he isn't when the pieces around him disappear.
Unless u a Chiefs fan Mr. Noodle arm bouta cook yall😈 and for less than 50
Dumb + outrageous luck = smart? LOL you are on FIRE Mike! 🔥🔥🔥
Trey, sucked.
He had EVERY opportunity as Jimmy and Brock had and FAILED. So what Trey doing now? On the bench on another team.
This guy is something else, every team makes bad choices we just happen to get blessed with Brock.
49ers 4 life.
That’s not true. In 2 of the 3 years he was with the team Trey Lance wasn’t even allowed to compete for QB1. This past season Purdy was handed the job without a QB competition.
As a Rams fan I would LOVE for the niners to give Purdy a huge contract. The guy is fools gold.
after coming off a major injury and beating out Lance and Sam, two full seasons going to the Championship game and superbowl. Gary you is the foooooo. Fooooooooooo!
Purdy is peyton manning-ish. He's gonna torture ur poverty franchise for a decade
Unbeaten Vs the NFC West
Florio is singlehandily attempting to destroy the structure of the NFL. The NFL is the greatest sport in the world BECAUSE of its structure and it’s allowed you to run your mouth while not knowing ball to pull in a good paycheck.
Lamar: 2 and 4 .... Brock Purdy 4 and 1
Gave the guy 2 games after trading 3 firsts for him but yeah “didn’t workout”
He played in more than 2 games and he just was not getting the offense. This has been reported multiple times.
@@byronsmith3152 he had 2 games where the organization said “you are the guy, you are the starter” then broke his ankle and the team wrote him off. He never got a chance. As a “rookie” to prove whether he could be the guy or not 😴
@@Jerod-Mayo So you are going to ignore preseason games and practices? I tend to believe that the team, that is watching him perform, knows more than any of us do. Trey is just not it. If he was, wouldn't there be talk in Dallas about him? Sorry trey was never ready to be picked where he was. That is not his fault except for the fact he came out too early.
@@Jerod-Mayo LOL you think it's only the 2 games. More like 2 years, even got beat out my a new free agent name Darnald.
@@gcman1111 They try to make it sound like they gave him 2 weeks and that was it. It's pathetic.
🤔Can't see the 49ers giving him elite money ... **My prediction: 4yr /$100M Fully.** EDIT: 4yr/ $120M
-🐢
Nope. Zach wilson could win there with the all-star team and everybody knows it.
Yes, please over pay him
See how he does without the avengers surrounding him
You worry to much bro. Niners will be just fine.
Waaaaay better than jalen hurts thats for sure.
🤣😂 good luck with that
It should be incentive based…Brock hasn’t proved nothing
No. If he doesn't take a team friendly deal then give him the chance to look elsewhere. He'll see he's not valued as highly across the league.
QB for Cincinnati, Buffalo, LAC, got more than 50+ Mil, Cleveland 40+ and Atlanta pays Cousins 50mil none of them playing in SB. 49ers owner happy to pay.
The only people in the actual League who talk about Purdy all give him a ton of credit and love, including Andy Reid and Steve Spagnuolo. The people who express doubts are national media folks who are trying to get engagement and old retired QB's trying to made their podcast relevant.
Brock Purdy literally just walked the same arc Joe Burrow did (with arguably more first year success), where he went to the Super Bowl in his second year and lost it, had big comebacks in the playoffs, and got a lot of hype surrounding him. The only difference is where they ended up getting drafted.
If you don't pay or tag Purdy, someone will give him at least 50 million.
@@jbtam4341 yeah they are excellent adverts for paying your QB a lot of money.
Too soon
More than Lamar or Herbert. 🙄
I’d only give Purdy 30 million a year that’s it that’s all he’s worth if he goes any other team he’ll stink
Ahhh yes dak Prescott all over again. Franchise forced to overpay for a mediocre QB that will just keep them hostage 😂😂
He has done in a year and a half allot more than Prescott has done his 8 year career so far bro.
No. Next question.
Jed Dork needs to shut up.
