For a few years during this time and this game, I lived on a hill over looking the Stadiums in Seattle and whenever a Hawks game was on, due to the TV delays I'd know if something good or bad happened by the roar of the crowd. During this game it was so loud I knew something good for the Hawks occurred.

I'll never forget this game. So many people at the watch party we were at were getting up to leave and my friend said "this games not over idk why you're leaving". He said it multiple times. So glad I stayed and watched. Best game ever.

One of the best NFC championship games of all time, as a Packers fan I was obviously distraught for a bit after this game.. considering how it started for GB. What a game, such a classic this is an immortal game for the ages.
Game was garbage. Only exciting thing was watching Green Bay completely shoot themselves in the foot starting with that interception and sliding down instead of returning that for either a td or into field goal range

@kawanzaii8698 I wouldn’t call it garbage (except maybe the outcome being a bit trash-like - Packers fan here) but I would be curious to hear how it was a good game. There were moments of great play, but there was arguably more sloppy play. Wilson looked like he was playing scared most of the game. The Packers coach calling weakass goal line calls. That sideline unsportsmanlike call. Even Matthew’s should’ve been called for a late hit on Wilson. He got lucky.
I call a game good when the players and coaches are at their best and you get to see which team is better - not who makes the fewest mistakes. I think maybe that’s what the earlier commenter is pointing at with his “trashy” comment.
But I will say, any game with Beast mode in action can’t be full trash. That guy’s the best - most entertaining RB ever!

Russell Wilson's 2 point conversion throw at the end was probably one of the greatest things I've ever seen
So risky though considering Clinton-Dix was in the area to make a play on the ball and could’ve returned it all the way to the end zone for 2 points and Seattle would then be losing and would still have to kick and have to attempt another onside kick

This game was just utter chaos and an instant classic. I remember watching the game back then and calling the fake field goal, then calling the onside kick. The statistical chances of a game like this happening is so rare it’s just unreal. And no, I’m not talking about just points.

This was the year of heartbreak in the NFC. Dallas narrowly beats the Lions, then loses to the Packers with the Dez Bryant catch/no catch play, the Packers then blow a lead to lose to Seattle in OT, then Seattle blows their chance to beat the Patriots on the goal line in the Super Bowl. At least we were all in the same boat, I guess.
Gotta respect the Seahawks for never ever quitting on a game. I'm sure it'll be a good game this Sunday at Lambeau!

I just remember him being so happy early on thinking the packers were for sure going to the super bowl. He gave his team an 11 point lead and the defense and special teams gave up 17 points in 5 minutes with Rodgers not touching the ball.

The way that it fell apart so quickly for Green Bay was nothing short of jaw dropping. With about 3 minutes in regulation they went from possibly representing the NFC in the Super Bowl to done for the season. Incredible.

Sliding down with 5 minutes left in the game after the interception when the Burnett dude could’ve ran for at least 30 yards is pure CRIMINAL. That caused GB the game no doubt. I wanted the Packers to win for obvious reasons but I feel like they threw this game 100% especially in the fourth. The dude looked like he didn’t want to recover the onside kick for Green Bay. It slipped through his hands on purpose
Just got to relive this game again.... I was very privileged to be there and see it live. I can still feel the rollercoaster of anxiety and joy 9 years later. My friend and I were standing there in the pouring rain as the Hawks got 15 points in 45 seconds - telling each other that this WOULD happen. The roar when Matthews caught the onside kick and when Kearse caught the OT bomb was deafening.

Lions get screwed on a bad PI call against Dallas and loses
Cowboys are screwed over on a horrible non-catch call against GB and loses
GB chokes a 16-0 lead against Seattle and loses
Seattle throws an INT on the 1 yard line and loses the SB

Superbowl 48 was amazing and I always say that it was the best game ever, but honestly THIS was the best game. My husband and I were standing in our bedroom watching this and when we won, I was screaming and cheering and my husband was just absolutely stunned. He was a Hawks fan, but as big of a fan as I am. He always said that this game made him believe in God. At the time it was hilarious (and still kind of is), but since he passed away in 2019, it's kind of surreal. This was an amazing game. Tonight's game against the Patriots was pretty close. My heart is still recovering from that last inning! Go Hawks!!

Imagine having a bum leg, going against a historically amazing defense, walking off the field up 19-6 with 4 minutes left, only to get back on the field down 22-19, lead a game tying drive, and never see the ball again and lose.
@@footballdude4271 Rodgers and the offense was gifted 5 turnovers and they could only muster one touchdown the entire game. He had the nice drive to set up the game tying field goal but other than that he did not play well in the second half. Only scored 6 points.
I’m not trying to say Rodgers was mostly to blame. The defense fell apart at the end, McCarthy got conservative, bone head mistakes at the worst times, etc. But let’s not act like Rodgers was blameless because if Tom Brady lost a game like that people would have killed him for it.

@@kevinhenry4047 People always blame Rodgers for not capitalizing off the turnovers, but if you actually watch the game, on two of those turnovers MCarthy called 3 straight run plays, and on another that got near the end zone, Jordy Nelson dropped what should have been an easy TD.
Green bay missed so many opportunities in this game. This game easily could've been 21-0. Those points left by the packers cost them at the end.

Matthew Smith was doing a lot better in this game than Last week against Dallas. He moved better and threw better. Stop with the excuses, he was ready to go. And as far as #1 defense he was up 16-0!!! No excuses.
Rodgers choked hard in this game. Biggest choke in NFCC history. If he doesn't win another SB this game will be the most remembered of his career.

what an epic way to win. Jermaine was in my classes from middle school through high school. To see him take it all the way to the NFL is amazing. Let alone making it to the hometown team. Being the last man to touch the ball claiming the championship and sending the hawks to the super bowl. Then Winning it. Beautiful story!
