This game was INSANE. The energy in the building was electric. Both Lamar and Baker were showcasing their respective skills and strengths. Lamar elevated his game and Baker fell off a cliff. If Baker can step his game back up this season then AFC North can be the most competitive division in football.
I totally concur especially with this season game being one of the best of all time

As a Browns fan, this game was one of my favorite games of that season even though we lost. What was cool was the Browns didn't give up even a little bit. Baker Mayfield was able to get the rookie TD record and they were on the edge of field goal range with only a two-point deficit. They made the Ravens actually EARN the division. Hopefully we get more awesome Baker vs Lamar games next season. So far Lamar is up 2-1 in the rivalry. We gotta gain ground. Lol

The best thing about this game was just before CJ's interception watching the Steelers and their fans reaction before and after it happened on the big screen at Heinz Field.
This was one of the best games of that year next to the Chiefs vs Rams
The win that saved Harbaugh's time in Baltimore.

Patrick Chaney literally everything you could have in a football game happened that night. From the storyline to the weather, to the offensive and defensive high spots to the miracle. My god I’m getting amped just typing about it.

Patrick Chaney after the way they lost the afc title the year before, they DESERVED to win a game like that.
I remember watching this game and realizing that Jackson can be a very great QB in the league if he is minimizing hits on the run and expanding his pocket accuracy.
The 3TE / Doomsday personell was perfect as he seems to be crazy quick at spotting initial open routes. He can hit his big guys in seam or on curls even inside the 1st down marker.
Because of his speed and because of the possible blocking numbers on strong side teams would get abused with cut-back weak side and delayed handoff for QB runs or play acts for seam catches by his tight ends.
The operation requires all his tight ends have hands , and with Andrews and Hurst being crazy underrated pass-catchers, you can always bring them into a blocking scheme that command size to match up by the defense.
Cleveland choosing to go small vs big burned them so many times in the game. And the movement pre snap brought in so much confusion .
Mere confusion in zone schemes can lead to an Otackle having free reign 5-10 yards up field , possibly taking down the last defender between the carrier and the end zone .
You beat this scheme by flooding the center gap. You make Ravens pay for any pulls or sweep/screen action by getting your fat man in that first gap and let the linebacker get through the muck and track down anyone trying to extend a play or be patient with run scheme .
But overall Ravens have almost BradyD Lamar by giving him 2 plays that he leans on to work his talent.
The 2-back side to side , where he can run option but usually will leave one blocking and the other at the line as checking. The latter as a check is done as a run with one or both running backs blocking for that run.
His 2nd go to is setting one of the backs in motion behind 2 TE, allowing for good power runs with him or Ingram or Edwards.
Play action off of this , even when teams commit to exotic zones , Jackson always finds his guys easily, and sometimes in strides for huge yardage.
Press coverage is dangerous with a running QB as well as much bigger receivers that can box out or jump ball.
Now that Lamar is learning to lay these passes in on the hands of the players seam routes, these cheats allow Lamar to hit possibly TD reception with a simple 10 yard pass.
Or a 90-yard drive with 3 receptions for a total of 32 yards before the catch and 40 after.
Because of this system, Lamar can be vicious with his passing because of his speed threat his simple go-to passes move the chains way more than other QBs go to passes
And its not just his speed. It's his ability to predict his running lane presnap and be able to work out of the pocket during a drive without taking advantage .
He has bouts of the yips with accuracy but his knowledge on how the zone is worked on him is building and he's becoming much more cerebral at figuring out where to throw it and quickly .
Lastly, he's also learning to exploit the overzealousness of defenses. Not just rushing him but how they work the numbers on gaps or crowd up the check receiver or fill up the gaps when a pull occurs.
Hopefully he will be able to work the pass more but overall decision-making is really good but he won't get enough credit since people want to see pocket passing define QB greatness trait.
And like Patriots with their slot, I'd venture that it's still talented to organize your tight end to hit them inside of zone or boxing out a mismatched safety on the line .
The system is well built but Lamar adapting and evolving here is going to be fun to watch and if people think Mahomes is arrived then wait til Jackson works his magic with his squad.

Jordan Davis Idk, maybe. That team is just poorly managed, the ownership and front office mentality and culture is awful, Harbaugh would have no control over it those aspects of the team. The Ravens are just a great organization top to bottom. Eric deserves a lot of credit especially for changing our defense back to an elite one on the fly. I think Harbaugh has dealt with big personalities before, but the difference is those personalities were focused on winning and not showboating, off the field drama or showing off their brand. So I think what would have happened is that Harbs would have come in and probably would have had a 10-6 record and playoff appearance but eventually because of the toxic ownership, incompetent front office, and the on and off the field drama, plus the fact that Baker and Odell are overrated players now would have been too much to overcome and the Browns would have faded back to mediocrity and eventually irrelevance even with Harbaugh. I think we should understand that a franchise has many parts, Harbaugh definitely took over a Ravens team that had a bad 2007 season and needed a shot in the arm and proceeded to oversee the most successful tenure in Ravens history, BUT there was still a solid foundation in place, as in a great owner, great front office, great fan culture, and motivated/talented players.
Ryan Hardison Harbaugh is an established coach, he could have demanded some sort of front office control in his negotiations
@@jackcorcoran1778 Harbaugh has been the Ravens head coach for like 12 years, and has been a part of a front office transition from Ozzie Newsome to Eric Decosta (he didn't demand any new power there), plus Harbaugh is one of the few coaches that still employs both of his coordinators. He is a very hands off coach.

Came home from hockey just in time for kickoff know damn well I didn’t do my homework. Put on my Flacco jersey and watched a game I’ll never forget, seeing mosleys pick had me frozen in shock I couldn’t believe what had just happened and how happy I was to see RAVENSNATION WIN and to see the sad Steelers players

Ever since back in 2018 season when Baker walked away from LMar after game when players meet up to shake hands. LMar had that MVP season following 2019. I mean, LMar had to make 2nd effort of the 2 meeting up after 2018 game. Baker had big rookie season as Baker didnt care of hand shakes as Baker just shrugged shoulders, turned and started to walk away but LMar handled it so Mature,, it really showed who was who of that view... LMar is a very humble person and understand the world around him can expose any traits a star overlook as we all see Baker s world as that, his own world, too good to acknowledge any one below him. LaMar Jackson definitely on top of the game,, not world of Baker s Mind...
Back in Louisville of LaMar s College season, the greatest lesson HCoach Pitreno did for LaMar of teaching him. truly true story,, dont fall for them GOLD DIGGAS, Like Coach did,,LOL... At 2:10:55 you think Harbaugh is arguing about the call but he's really just concerned about the 10 second runoff.
Notably, right behind him is Jerry Rosburg, ST coach who is involved in the discussion as well. He retired but came out to join the Broncos in 2022 to help HC Hackett with game/clock management and eventually served as interim HC. Just an interesting note shown in this game that he was involved with coaching at multiple levels which helped his career.

These announcers were so bias against Lamar. Critical of every throw Lamar made even when he completes it, but make all kinds of exuces fir baker an his off target throws and his ints 🤦🏾♂️
That was the start of the narrative that people believe anything negative re Lamar's throwing. Romo, who I hate as a biased announcer, was harping about the Ravens defense, yes, they were good, and it was critical for the game, but it wasn't the only thing. Lamar was also key, and he did well. Baker is NOT clutch. most of the time, when I've watched his games, in the fourth quarter, at the last second, he pretty much always chokes! I don't know what it is, but he just does NOT have the clutch gene.😂
I think the look on Baker Mayfield's face after that interception near the end of the game said the whole story.
