I think Mitch has been dealt a bad hand the whole Chicago Bear's experience showed even after he left, Mitchell wasn't the issue it was Matt Nagy and GM Ryan Pace I think Mitchell in a better coaching system and I think he deserves a chance.

As an Eagles fan I saw potential in him. My best friend, his wife and his mom are all Steelers fans, so of course I watched the game with them. I think Pickett has potential to start and lead Pittsburgh to multiple wins this year but he’s gotta build stamina

Mitchell Trubisky is a top 10 QB
LOL and Bears are one of the worst organizations. They were basically posed with the question: Mitch or Nagy. They chose Nagy and let Tru walk for nothing. After that season Nagy was fired and is now an ASSISTANT COACH in Kansas City, Mitch since then 1)Blew out the Bears in preseason, 2) signed with a competent organization within 45 minutes of the start of free agency. That and then the Bears using two first rounders to draft Fields (who is looking like a bust).
Don't get me wrong, you got teams like the Browns and the Raiders, etc. I get it. But I don't think I've ever seen a team make so many really bad moves in such a short span. Especially when it was so obvious to anyone with eyes who knows the game- Mitch was actually decent to good carrying a bad offense. His number and play can only go up by virtue of not being surrounded by so many bad players and having a good coach.

So many fans want KP to start game 1. Just throw him in the fire and if he struggles mightily, bench him down the line for MT. I think that's too risky for the development of a nfl qb. So many qbs have been thrown in the fire early on, struggled, and benched. I've never seen one of those qbs recover and become an elite qb in their career. We're the Steelers. We dance to the beat of our own drum. Take it slow with this kid. At minimum I would like to see him at qb #2 and learn from the sideline for half the season.
Say what you will about what he still "needs to learn" before he can take over....Dak took over his rookie preseason and hasn't looked back. Mitch isn't Romo.

People keep saying Pickett was playing against backups. But fail to mention he was also playing WITH backups too. I wouldn't start Pickett simply because the Steelers have THE worst OL in the BFL. Playing Pickett behind that OL will have him end up like David Carr. Let Mitch start until you fix the OL.

Pickett is not ready. Don't force it. He holds on to the ball at times and that can get him hurt. He needs to learn to throw it away at times. Pickett went up against backups. That's not going to happen in the regular long season. Let him learn with the clipboard.

Trubisky? Idk. Rudolph? Maybe. I’d have Trubisky start against the Jags then have Pickett play against the 2s in the 2/3rd quarters. If Trubisky struggles I’d have Pickett play the 1s but Trubisky should be fine and Pickett will likely be the 2nd best QB on the Steelers roster
Mitch is a decent qb but start the rookie if he was a vet then you could start him but no he isn’t a established vet

While I'm enthusiastic about Kenny I hope they don't rush him. Give him time learn. I know the Steelers from top to bottom are a better organization but how many QBs have been ruined by the jets? We're not looking for a saviour. We haven't gotten that bad. We need a QB to maintain the winning tradition of the team.
He doesn't need time to learn, he's already miles ahead of Mitch and Mason.
If they aren't going to start Pickett yet, they should play Rudolph over Trubisky. Steelers have too talented wrs to waste on a QB who can't throw the ball downfield.
