So many great arcade memories with Cruis'n Exotica back in the early 2000s. I haven't tried Cruis'n Blast yet in the arcades, but I'm looking forward to playing this on the Switch.

Fun fact: When the Switch was announced, I've heard that Cruis'n Blast was an arcade game machine, so I looked at some videos and it looks fun, weird and great. Back then, my first thought was "this should be on the Switch".
It took 'em 5 years, but it's the thought that counts. The Switch needs more arcade racing games.

The Cruis'n speedrunning discord popped off yesterday when we saw this announcement. Blast being ported over to the switch with so much extra content is something I never could have imagined. This was unironically my favorite part of the direct.

I really hope there's at least one track that's underwater, like the Atlantis level from Cruis'n Exotica, a.k.a, the best level in the entire game...
And Mars.
If anything, they should put in the courses from The Fast and the Furious arcade games.
Atlantis was always my favorite level as a kid growing up across all Cruis'n games, and as a speedrunner it's still my favorite racing level in any game.

I know the 12 year olds in chat dumped on the game during the Direct stream, but I actually think this looks super rad.
It really seems like they captured the feel of those old Y2K era arcade racers. Almost like a ”what if the Cruis’n series continued on the Dreamcast after being N64 exclusive”, but with better graphics and effects. Just judging by the video, the controls seem super snappy, and it has a real good sense of speed.
It’s kinda rare to find games like these nowadays, and even more rare to find those that do it well. So I know I for one am kinda excited about this, at least a little bit (though with only 16 tracks, it’s hopefully not more than $30). And it’s not a ”f2p games as service” game, which is very refreshing in 2021, because they very much could’ve done that.

I saw at least 24 tracks in the trailer. That's not including the original 5 that the arcade version has, if I'm not mistaken.

There was Cruis'n for the Wii, tho. Haven't actually played it but it was there.
@@perezaraujo2890 Cruis'n on the Wii is super weird. Basically they wanted to bring the old Fast and the Furious arcade game to consoles, but lost the license to it.
So they just took all the mentions of the IP out and slapped the Cruis'n name on it.

Played Cruis’n USA since I was 4 so I’m all kinds of hyped for this port.
prob same very much around that age i'm so sure got that cart some where along with mario party 1 - 3 Smash Bros. Extreme-G, Lego Racers, Diddy kong racing, DK 64, mickey speedway USA and my dreamcast with again saves i want to see the date of prob 1999 or 2000 or 2001 dates for SA1/2 THPS 1-3

The nostalgia from playing World and Exotica are what got me hype, but seeing these whacky vehicles are pretty much a guarantee for me. I'm sold.

Yes, indeed would have been insane if this was a Cruis N collection and had them besides this with online play? I hope this game has online play if not, I fear it'll die fast. I mean offline with friends it'll be the bomb like the 90's games but this has to have online. They didn't say it which scares me.
@@MKF30 Yeah I was looking around for information on that. Even on the Eshop it only shows up to 4-players, with no mention of online. Maybe it's not ready yet?
@@LordCowboyCat Hopefully it's just not updated with all the information or maybe they'll add it in an update later I hope? I did the same, no mention of any netplay which is odd for a game like this but I guess time will tell.

I've got to admit that I am a little disappointed in the lack of online play, but I still will check this out since I have been a fan of the series since the N64 era. It'll be nice to race and not have the environment popping up 10 feet in front of you.
This is something I don't get. Forza Horizon 5 still has plenty of very distracting pop in and even the new Gran Turismo for PS5 also has it. So annoying.
I don't mind simpler graphics of it means the game is running at 60 fps, at the highest resolution possible, with no pop in and no aliasing. Clean visuals are always better than dirty blurry visuals full of issues.

Oh sweet!! This has to be online!! This brings me back to the 90's, yes! Cruis'N series is amazing and so underrated, I have all 3 on my N64 that I play still, used to play with friends over all the time. Man those were the days, I miss them. My friend and I beat World and went so deep we unlocked the secret demon car that a lot of people didn't know about think it was called "speed demon"
I recently played blast for the first time at an arcade near me, it was super fun, Cruis’n USA needs to be ported too, I love that game

I saw many people in forums lough about this game when it was announced.
But for me it was one of the highlights in this direct.

I just got the game yesterday, & it's awesome! It reminds me alot of Burnout 3. A game I played *RELIGIOUSLY* as a kid on the OG Xbox.
I loved Crusin' USA and Cruisin' World both in arcades and N64! California Speed was cool too.

WOAH this has SO much more content than the arcade version (which only had 5 tracks)! I was already hyped just to get a home port of the arcade but this goes above and beyond!
You had me at all the different tracks but then you kept going with tanks, dinosaurs, unicorns, and school busses. This could be the best racing game ever made!
