It's crazy how the graphics look for this game...ON THE SWITCH. Capcom did a really good job with that.
It's not a PS2... seriously, everyone's so spoiled by latest-bleeding-edge-tech cutscenes that they forget graphics are already as good as they need to be to make an immersive story come to life.

@@SomeKRplusTraveler Mate, no need to be so dismissive, Rise looks a lot better than Generations Ultimate and that game was also for the Switch. People who mostly got the console for Monster Hunter wouldn't know of what it is capable. They're just expressing how cool it is how far Capcom was able to push the graphical limits after a somewhat untouched HD port of a 3DS game.

Hunting horn is so good right now. It is almost as good as charge blade was from mh4u
All I'm thinking about a raging bear, dual wielding ice swords.
That would make for a kickass Deviant if they brought that concept back.

Goss Harag is probably my new favorite Fanged Beast. Rajang is intense and cool, but it isn't "demon bear with ice sword" cool.
If that's a training dummy, I honestly like that addition. Had trouble with certain techniques before and mounting a monster in my past, so I think training dummies could help with that.
I don’t buy many games, I don’t consider myself a gamer I just play eventually.
But when a game with this quality releases, I know it’s time to pick up my console once again.

When I saw stories I was kind of interested... but then I saw that it was a turn-based RPG (or am I wrong?). If it has this real-time gameplay and you could tame the monsters, _then_ my dream would be complete. Just saying stuff out loud 🤷♂️

It's a mechanic that lets you topple them, just like the clutch claw in World.
That's kinda the point, though.

@@zenzonerzz4789 But MH:Stories is turn-based. It doesn't have the same feel of control as Wyvern Riding in this one to be fair. (Although the method used in Rise is admitedly kinda cruel)
Trust me, I've been yelling at a few people to buy Monster Hunter: Stories 2 this summer throughout the comment section.
@@LonesomeDevil capcom has been popping off on the switch(and tbh nintendo in general, i don't even know if mh would exist if it weren't for the 3ds back then). Im so excited for these 2 games, def getting them.

Just a head's up: (althoug I haven't tested yet)
There seems to be some lag/stutter problems while playing online on the demo IF you have a lot of friends on the account you are using. Playing with an account without friends registeded (or maybe just with few, I'm not sure yet) will prevent that bug from happening.
I expect Capcom to patch it at some point, hopefully before release.

@@Altri82 the switch hasn't made a lot of games look exactly "pretty" besides Nintendo first party games, so I think I have some reason to be surprised.
the tegra X1 inside the Switch is pretty powerful on it's own.
Im pretty sure the “RE Engine” its being developed on has a lot to do with why it looks so good while still managing to perform very well. Im not certain on the full details of its inner workings, but its supposedly really good, a lot of Capcom’s Resident Evil games were made using this engine too, hence the “RE” in its name.
@@tepigninja7198 I know of the engine, its a great engine, and I feel that if they can make a monster hunter look this good on the switch.. they could probably get away with putting RE games on it

There will be apparently crossover content with Monster Hunter: Stories 2 when it comes out this Summer, so yeah, extremely likely.
Truth be told, this should have been the mounting mechanic from the start.
Looks great. Graphics on the switch have been amazing lately (still was great with breath of wild and odyssey but this..)

The demo was released today and it's alot of fun
It was released yesterday at around 6pm but with so many people trying to download I imagine it will take a few minutes maybe hours to download. It took me 1.5 hours to start and I was playing all night and today in the morning.
Never regret about having a Switch cause looks beautiful to me but this is something else

I’m basic and have never played MH and I clicked because I like wyvern riders in FE, so I’m sorry if this sounds dumb, but can you fly one of these guys around and keep it as your pet or is it just to make them easier to kill/kill other monsters?
Unfortunately not, this is only a mechanic to help you fight them. If you want a game where you can ride, fight with the monsters and keep them as pet, I really recommend you Monster Hunter Stories! It's a spin off where you can do pretty much all you asked. Plus! It's getting a sequel this summer on the Switch! Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin!
MonHun Stories is for you. It'll be the pokémon game you've wanted for years. Get the first one on 3DS or on your phone or wait for the sequel (stories 2). It will be coming later this year (probably summer or fall 2021).

@@RisingSunfish i doubt it. If they announced a sequel then re-releasing the prequel is just regressing. And believe me you wont feel great playing it on switch it's just not fit for the console. So Get it on your phone or on 3ds. The game wont cost you much i think that its extremely right now.
Stories should likely also be fun as it plays closer to a traditional turn-based RPG, so you don't need the epic gamer fingers.
I like the monster riding but I do wish it wasn't a total replacement for mounting, just an addition. Using non-wirebug aerials to land hits should still be rewarded imo. Also, I don't like how the bubble debuff works now, staggers are a lot less enjoyable than skittering around like you are on ice like it is in GU.
