Yep, big Pikmin tears of joy rolled down my face. Played Pikmin 1 in like 2003, really liked it a lot, but my god Pikmin 2 was just the best game ever. Never got Pikmin 3, but I still love the series and Nintendo and even though I don't own a switch I think this year I will finally get one so I can play both Zeldas, Pikmin 4, Animal Crossing, Smash, ect....better late than never!

the new camera perspective is going to make such a massive difference. seeing everything from the viewpoint of your captain and the pikmin will truly emphasize how tiny you are. honestly its a bit weird that it took them four entries to go for this style but im just excited to see how its gonna play out.
It worries me a bit because I'm used to have camera angles far in Pikmin games. Though, it is just the only image we have on the game so I'll wait and see what happens.

You could kinda already do this on the gamecube. I can't remember if it was the first or second pikmin, but you held down the zoom out button and it would bring the camera down to your level.

To anyone who has never played Pikmin: there is no other game like it. It is a one-of-a-kind experience and it's truly incredible how fine-tuned it is. The devs who created the concept are seriously geniuses. The gameplay is so fun to figure out, and with multiplayer in the last game, its possibilities are boundless
I remember when I was younger pikmin was the first game that I had ever played and the experience it gave me being so young was unforgettable. It’s still processing in my mind that this game just came out after all the years of repeating the games, the memories, the nonstop watching of ever single direct just to see if a sequel to the pikmin series would come out. And now that it’s finally out I can now rest well knowing the series that I love is on its way. its so funny, i remember when pikmin 3 deluxe was announced i thought to myself "damn, pikmin 4 probably isnt being worked on then." and almost two years after its release pikmin 4 gets announced. its just so surreal to me that this game was probably being worked on while they were working on pikmin 3 deluxe.
i have the same exprience its been my favorite game since ive been younger and the news with the wiiu and maybe cancelation of pikmin 4 made me lose hope but im so so so so happy that this happened after 10 years of waiting
@@BlueBerry20071 Those were all great but splatfests are kind of already expected, TotK had a painfully short trailer for how long we’ve waited, and Octopath was stuck between a bunch of other JRPGs. Pikmin 4 was the most surprising and hype worthy- the game’s been in production since like 2013 or 2014. This is coming from someone who hasn’t played a Pikmin game and my favorite game of all time is BotW.

I was a late adopter to the franchise (FeelsBad, yes), with Pikmin 3 on Wii U being my first one. So very happy to see 4 finally coming! If there’s any sort of online multiplayer modes or capability, even better :D

OH MY GOD, YES! IT’S HAPPENING! Ever since I played Pikmin 3, I fell in love with the series, and now it’s finally getting a continuation! I can’t wait!
1st was my fav. I didnt like the timer at 1st but it became the reason i enjoyed that game the most. 2 was xool but i didnt feel the pressure. I disnt feel like any stakes were there. 3 tried to bring back w the fruit, but it was too ez in that aspect. That being said, i love all 3 and am thrilled to habe 4 coming!
I started playing pikmin in 2020 and i have been a big fan of the series ever since I almost fainted from hype seeing pikmin 4, can hardly imagine how people who waited 10 years felt
I’ve been playing this game since i was 5. Started around 2004, I’m am now definitely going to get a switch & hope they have a limited edition for Pikmin 4.
Horrible. Like waiting for a son to come back from war. You know there is a risk he may not come at all. But you still hope every day to see him again. But when you see him your eyes well up in excitement for the man he has become and the stories he will tell.
It's been a week and I'm still obsessed with this! In the Pikmin 2 logo, the pink flowers on the '2' foreshadow the White and Purple Pikmin, and the Pikmin 3 beta logo had violet flowers on the '3'. Now, we see orange flowers on the '4' - which implies we're going to see brand new Pikmin types!
At the end of Pikmin 1, there were Orange Onions seen flying off of earth. The only colors in that cutscene that haven’t had Pikmin yet were Green, Cyan, and Orange. There were also Pink and Black Onions but now we know those were Flying and Rock.
Me and my friend SHOUTED with surprise when walking home yesterday watching the Direct! I kept saying it’s cool that they’re working on the game series still while Pikmin Bloom was on the Direct, and I was saying to my friends that I have to be in the lifetime where Pikmin 4 will exist . Then they began the transition on screen to another game. The second I saw what looked to me like the Garden of Hope, I knew it. I lost it. But not just yet. This could’ve been like a weird spin-off game. It shows the bench and I am begging for it to be a sequel, then the Bulborb and then the word Pikmin shows up. I am so close to just begging for it to not be a spin-off game, just waiting to see if the Pikmin on screen would make the number 4, and when they did, THAT’S when we lost it and celebrated!
Happy to see it back. I can't help but think of the fence and park bench. Normally the Pikmin environments are mostly natural, with the odd plant pot or cardboard here and there, not counting the extra game modes. Here it seems they are much closer to where humans might be, such as a backyard or something.
I think the main difference is that new space is more believable as a real backyard, rather than previous games where its clearly a designed level using realistic objects

Really looking forward to this new instalment to the franchise, this quirky little RTS type of game where your REALLY need to manage your time to get as much stuff done in a day, and hey it'll be interesting to see what new enemies and bosses we'll face, how many old foes will return (cause so far we got 3 returning ones) and how many new types of Pikmin we will discover
so something that came to mind: what if they decided to bring back some enemies that where introduced in the spin-off "Hey! Pikmin", cause I'll be honest I think some of them have potential like the Mockiwi, Fiery Dwarf Bulblax, Shearblug and maybe even the Widemouthed Anode Beetle

Life is complete all is perfect it’s been 10 years and I still remember when I first played Pikmin 3. Pikmin is my favorite Nintendo series and this made my next 5 years.
I will probably be the minority in this, but I hope that the caves (or at least the treasures) return this time around. I know they are a rather divisive part of Pikmin 2 but I think that with the better capabilities of the Switch they could be improved a lot. And yes, Pikmin 2 is my favorite one.

This won the direct for me, hands down. BotW 2 getting a release date was cool and all, but that was nothing compared to Pikmin 4, something we've been waiting 7+ years for! Genuinely the most excited I've been for anything gaming related since the Switch released.

Welp, the end credits of this game FINALLY rolled for me tonight at about 12:18am (after about 22 hours of total playtime, 29 in-game Days, and ALL available areas so far finally being 100% complete)! Once I complete whatever post-game content is left in Pikmin 4, I’ll probably just go back and play Pikmin 3 Deluxe (for the 5th time now) and/or finally start playing Pikmin 2 on GameCube (which I still have yet to play after FINALLY beating the original Pikmin on GameCube)…….. but NOW, having recently become a MASSIVE Pikmin fan since late June this year (all in the span of a month before Pikmin 4 came out)………..……….. I gotta say, Pikmin 4 is a VERY DELIGHTFUL and AMBITIOUS game. It IS a little easy at some points and severely limiting in others (especially compared to Pikmin 3), but it’s definitely another solid entry in the Pikmin series that I might just consider revisiting once I’ve finally played the original Pikmin trilogy in its entirety (since I’ve only 100% completed the original Pikmin game on GameCube once, I haven’t even TOUCHED Pikmin 2 AT ALL, and I’ve already 100% completed Pikmin 3 Deluxe a grand total of 4 whole times now alongside completing 10/15 treasure-hunting missions, holy cow)! Pikmin FOREVER!!! 😉

Pikmin 3 Deluxe was my first pikmin game, I tried out the demo and was completely sold. I absolutely loved the game. This is only the first trailer and it already looks stunning, even if we haven't seen actual gameplay. I'm sure the sound design will be spectacular as well! So hyped lol. 😆
Pikmin 3 on Switch was the first game that truly clicked for my wife and I. I really hope they keep that co-op aspect alive that was introduced in the Switch version.
This feels so surreal. I remember Pikmin 4 being rumored to be "near completion" multiple times towards the end of the Wii U's life cycle, and now here we are.
i love this announcement so much because it was like "i'm obviously going to be announcing a new Pikmin game!" then they talked about Pikmin Bloom for 5 minutes before actually revealing a new Pikmin game
I remember playing pikmin 3 when i was 8 and loving it, one day a friend from school who read the nintendo magazine told me a new one would come out recenty based on what the creator had said, I thought that maybe the next month there would be more info, little did I know i'd had to wait almost a decade
this was my childhood game series and will continue to be my adulthood game series and on. thank you for the beautiful work you have put into every single Pikmin game, including the efforts we will soon see for 4 when it releases.

You mean with co-op in the story mode as pikmin 2 had multiplayer just not for the story mode same with the original pikmin 3

I was a late adopter to the franchise (FeelsBad, yes), with Pikmin 3 on Wii U being my first one. So very happy to see 4 finally coming!

1 and 2 were so much better than 3, you missed out
1 was fine, 3 was amazing, and 2 was the best game ever imo
1st was my fav. I didnt like the timer at 1st but it became the reason i enjoyed that game the most. 2 was xool but i didnt feel the pressure. I disnt feel like any stakes were there. 3 tried to bring back w the fruit, but it was too ez in that aspect. That being said, i love all 3 and am thrilled to habe 4 coming!

I almost fainted from hype seeing pikmin 4, can hardly imagine how people who waited 10 years felt
I’ve been playing this game since i was 5. Started around 2004, I’m am now definitely going to get a switch & hope they have a limited edition for Pikmin 4.
Horrible. Like waiting for a son to come back from war. You know there is a risk he may not come at all. But you still hope every day to see him again.

It's been a week and I'm still obsessed with this! In the Pikmin 2 logo, the pink flowers on the '2' foreshadow the White and Purple Pikmin, and the Pikmin 3 beta logo had violet flowers on the '3'. Now, we see orange flowers on the '4' - which implies we're going to see brand new Pikmin types!
At the end of Pikmin 1, there were Orange Onions seen flying off of earth. The only colors in that cutscene that haven’t had Pikmin yet were Green, Cyan, and Orange. There were also Pink and Black Onions but now we know those were Flying and Rock.

Me and my friend SHOUTED with surprise when walking home yesterday watching the Direct! I kept saying it’s cool that they’re working on the game series still while Pikmin Bloom was on the Direct, and I was saying to my friends that I have to be in the lifetime where Pikmin 4 will exist .
Then they began the transition on screen to another game.
The second I saw what looked to me like the Garden of Hope, I knew it. I lost it. But not just yet. This could’ve been like a weird spin-off game. It shows the bench and I am begging for it to be a sequel, then the Bulborb and then the word Pikmin shows up.
I am so close to just begging for it to not be a spin-off game, just waiting to see if the Pikmin on screen would make the number 4, and when they did, THAT’S when we lost it and celebrated!
Happy to see it back. I can't help but think of the fence and park bench. Normally the Pikmin environments are mostly natural, with the odd plant pot or cardboard here and there, not counting the extra game modes. Here it seems they are much closer to where humans might be, such as a backyard or something.
Where humans might be, or.....where humans were.
I think the main difference is that new space is more believable as a real backyard, rather than previous games where its clearly a designed level using realistic objects

Really looking forward to this new instalment to the franchise, this quirky little RTS type of game where your REALLY need to manage your time to get as much stuff done in a day, and hey it'll be interesting to see what new enemies and bosses we'll face, how many old foes will return (cause so far we got 3 returning ones) and how many new types of Pikmin we will discover
so something that came to mind: what if they decided to bring back some enemies that where introduced in the spin-off "Hey! Pikmin", cause I'll be honest I think some of them have potential like the Mockiwi, Fiery Dwarf Bulblax, Shearblug and maybe even the Widemouthed Anode Beetle

Life is complete all is perfect it’s been 10 years and I still remember when I first played Pikmin 3. Pikmin is my favorite Nintendo series and this made my next 5 years.
Took long enough but was worth the wait.
I will probably be the minority in this, but I hope that the caves (or at least the treasures) return this time around.
I know they are a rather divisive part of Pikmin 2 but I think that with the better capabilities of the Switch they could be improved a lot.
And yes, Pikmin 2 is my favorite one.
I loved the caves. I felt they added a lot of replay ability and provided and amazing change of pace from the overworld stuff

In the Pikmin bundle, you can play all game plots consecutively.
This won the direct for me, hands down. BotW 2 getting a release date was cool and all, but that was nothing compared to Pikmin 4, something we've been waiting 7+ years for! Genuinely the most excited I've been for anything gaming related since the Switch released.

Welp, the end credits of this game FINALLY rolled for me tonight at about 12:18am (after about 22 hours of total playtime, 29 in-game Days, and ALL available areas so far finally being 100% complete)! Once I complete whatever post-game content is left in Pikmin 4, I’ll probably just go back and play Pikmin 3 Deluxe (for the 5th time now) and/or finally start playing Pikmin 2 on GameCube (which I still have yet to play after FINALLY beating the original Pikmin on GameCube)…….. but NOW, having recently become a MASSIVE Pikmin fan since late June this year (all in the span of a month before Pikmin 4 came out)………..……….. I gotta say, Pikmin 4 is a VERY DELIGHTFUL and AMBITIOUS game. It IS a little easy at some points and severely limiting in others (especially compared to Pikmin 3), but it’s definitely another solid entry in the Pikmin series that I might just consider revisiting once I’ve finally played the original Pikmin trilogy in its entirety (since I’ve only 100% completed the original Pikmin game on GameCube once, I haven’t even TOUCHED Pikmin 2 AT ALL, and I’ve already 100% completed Pikmin 3 Deluxe a grand total of 4 whole times now alongside completing 10/15 treasure-hunting missions, holy cow)! Pikmin FOREVER!!! 😉

Pikmin 3 Deluxe was my first pikmin game, I tried out the demo and was completely sold. I absolutely loved the game. This is only the first trailer and it already looks stunning, even if we haven't seen actual gameplay. I'm sure the sound design will be spectacular as well! So hyped lol. 😆

Pikmin 3 on Switch was the first game that truly clicked for my wife and I. I really hope they keep that co-op aspect alive that was introduced in the Switch version.

I remember playing pikmin 3 when i was 8 and loving it, one day a friend from school who read the nintendo magazine told me a new one would come out recenty based on what the creator had said, I thought that maybe the next month there would be more info, little did I know i'd had to wait almost a decade
