The curtains have been lifted, unveiling the all-new 3D action platformer created by the legendary creators Yuji Naka and Naoto Ohshima.
Twelve different tales await players in the bizarre and imaginary land of Wonderworld. As the star of the show, you can use powers from 80 different costumes while exploring labyrinth stages filled with a myriad of tricks and traps to get to the heart of each story.
As you journey through this land between fantasy and reality, you must find a way to bring balance to others and yourself.

With the (presumably eager) assistance of character designer Naoto Ohshima, the mind behind the designs of, among others, Nights and Sonic the Hedgehog. All they're missing from the _Nights Into Dreams_ team is Takashi Iizuka, the only one Sega somehow hasn't kicked to the curb yet.
And I am FULLY in favor of that. Carry on Yuji, I'll be getting this one come 2021.

That song at the end of the trailer will probably play at the great cinematic climax. It will bring a tear to the player's eye along with a feeling of wonder and accomplishment.
Defiantly see that. The villain is either defeated or reformed the song kicks in with a heart to heart talk with Balan and then a big musical number dance with all the characters, costumes and possibly even enemies you fought throughout the game. Then as the player leaves before Balan closes the doors, he gives one last bow and bids you fair well and thanks for a wonderful journey.

I think it would be interesting if Balan was instead a Disney movie that feels like a mix between the renaissance and revival eras.
Also, Nights did indeed took inspiration from Peter Pan, and Dreamcast era Sonic was meant to have a Walt Disney influence.

As well it _should_ -- Yuji Naka, the director, was in charge of _Nights Into Dreams_ back in the day, and the character designer, Naoto Ohshima, was the guy who created the Nightmarens' designs. The only way it could be more obviously a spiritual successor is if the trailer featured a flying level.

This gives me a lot of old-school SEGA vibes (and how wouldn't it when it's directed by none other than freaking Yuji Naka) mixed with a dose of Wario World (anyone remember that game?) and that's amazing. It pretty much looks like the unofficial next-gen NiGHTS game that fans of that franchise have been dreaming about for years. Great job Square! (and thanks for bringing it to Switch too).

Gives me the same feeling as if this were NiGHTS as a platformer down to the designs, movements, and sound effects...
The Bosses, main antagonist (and possibly the plot) feel similar to NiGHTS as well. Both NiGHTS and Balan are dream like protecters who the player protagonists (one boy and one girl) helps to stop a villain who creates nightmares and despair.
Finally! Square is giving the fans what they want: A Mario/Sonic/Crash clone for people who still like the Kingdom Hearts aesthetic.

To be honest, this was the most interesting game announcement out of most of Xbox's presentation and at the time I questioned why this was only shown at the pre-show. This is like a nice mix between NiGHTS & Billy Hatcher.

-give a main of transport
-cool character design
-land with giant objects (food for example)
-an asset of moves that depends on what character does have
-hat
Good 3D platformer:
1. Charm in the character design
2. Charm in the animations.
3. Great sense of movement.
4. Beautiful and distinct explorable maps.
5. Hats.
Don't forget a kickass main theme with lyrics.

@@LutherDePapier actually the first true 3d platformer was a game for the playstation 1 called Jumping Flash, which was created a year before crash bandicoot and mario 64. Nintendo and Naught dog only polished and tweaked the concept and mario 64 gave us the mechanics that became standard for future 3d platformers

it has that old-school video-game feel and I love it
Aesthetics and concept-wise, I think there's a lot here to spark nostalgia and intrigue in many types of people. This project has potential!

I see they've finally made a sequel to NIGHTS: Journey of Dreams... Oh wait never mind.
The platforming looks as great, as the prestigious Sonic Adventure, for the Sega Dreamcast; the most wonderful platforming game ever made. Nostalgia, and reminiscent feels about this incredible looking game. I hope that the story is as great as the gameplay looks 😉. Cheers!

That might be because one of the designers from Nights, Ohshima, is main character designer in this.
I feel like sega is going to sue Nintendo for this because this does give a nights journey of Dreams vine
